“Jada was great! She was understanding of the complicated situation with the cats (1 outdoor and 2 indoor and they do not mix well) and followed all the instructions for keeping them separate exactly as I asked. She interacted with the kitties just the perfect amount and let them come to her on their own terms. She truly understands cats. This was my first time using a pet sitter and I was really nervous about leaving my babies with a stranger. The way Jada treated my kitties made me feel so much better about going out of town. She's awesome! Thank you so much Jada!!”

“My fur babies had such a great experience! She was incredibly attentive and made sure I stayed updated the whole time with pictures and check-ins. I felt completely at ease knowing my pups were in such caring hands. Highly recommend!”

“Karen is amazing. Played with my two cats, showed up on time. Followed instructions to a "T", and my girls really appreciated her company and care. Made going out of town easy and stress free. I'll definitely book again when I need cat care, I cannot stress how amazing of an experience this was!”

“She was AMAZING!! So kind and the dogs loved her!! One of my babies sometimes is a little hard and she did amazing with him! So many pictures and even played with them so much! WILL HIRE AGAIN!!”

“Jeweliana and Riley provide loving care to our pets as if they were their own. Very responsible, on time, and great communication! Will definitely request them again!”

“My babies love Patrick, it's so nice to see them happy when he comes and visits my boys! He is always on time and creates play time with both of them!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs most of my life and have lived with multiple cat owners as well. I feel like pets like my calm and loving demeanor 😊 I enjoy the flexibility this profession allows and I love the outdoors. If your pet wants a long walk in the sun or just needs to stretch its legs in the backyard I’m down for either! 😁 I feel as though my laid back demeanor is great for working with animals and even the pickiest cats have fallen for me. I’m great at reading the body language of animals and know when they want a belly rub or when they want me to sit six feet away.

About: My day job is as a wildlife biologist, and I have worked with everything from Japanese giant salamanders to gopher tortoises. I have watched pets for neighbors and friends for years and love dogs especially! I am free in evenings (5pm or later) and weekends pretty consistently (I work full time as a wildlife biologist during the day). Happy with long or short walks, even on hot days. I don't have any pets at home right now, but I am comfortable with a wide variety of animals. I am skilled at reading animal body language and always strive to make pets feel safe.
“I had a last minute trip out of town and the sitter that I typically use was out of town as well. I took a chance on this lovely couple and they were phenomenal. Not only did they jump into action and take a brand new client last minute, but they did not disappoint. My animals were happy and healthy when I returned home.”

“Kristie is awesome! She followed all the instructions I left, took great care of my shy little cat, and even kept me updated with friendly messages. I felt super confident leaving Mia in her care and would absolutely trust her again!”

“Risa has been wonderful! I had to leave my Rocket for a short trip and she took care and attended to his needs while I was away. Will definitely book her again. :)”

“Brittany took great care of my 2 cats while we were away. She was always on time for the drop in visits, took great photos and made sure the kitties were well cared for. It gave me great relief to know they were in good hands while we were gone. Hope to have Brittany care for them again.”

About: I’ve been house and pet sitting for many years to help my family and friends. It’s time to be rewarded for my love for animals and be paid by others for my services. It’s hard to find good “customer service” these days; I am the opposite, your pets will get great service/attention from ME! Bonus: my career has been as an Administrative Assistant so I’m very organized and can assist with other things too, if needed, requested and discussed. I am currently unemployed and have all the time in the world to care for my pet and yours. Toodles of course would stay home. Toodles is an inside cat. She is proven healthy and well fed, I clean the litter box and her food bowls daily. She gets treats and love. We just bought her a new perch to watch the birds and lizards outside the window. In someone else’s home with their pets, I care for them exactly as asked. Walks, feed, love, crate (if necessary), it is what the client wants that their pet shall get!
“There’s a reason Evan has a perfect rating. He was able to take care of my cat with only 12 hours notice. It was an unexpected/emergency trip so there was no advanced planning but Evan rolled with it, found everything - food, litter, the house key (!) It really was last minute. Evan even loaded and ran the dishwasher for us so that we didn’t walk into a disaster Highly recommend Evan!”
“Steven did a great job communicating with me before, after and during the visit. He was very patient with my old boy,Domino giving me great peace of mind. Will definitely book Steven again when the need arises.”

“You were amazing! Thank you so much for taking such great care of Taco! I appreciate your patience with him. You went above and beyond. Your communication was so great. Im so glad to have had someone as attentive and professional as you. 10s across the board!”

“Kara was so great! She helped me in such a short notice and my dog Boone was taken care of. She sent pictures, updates, and communicated well. I would definitely recommend and will hopefully get to use her services in the future!”

Amber took excellent care of my two cats while I was away on a work trip! This was my first time booking with her, and before the booking she took time out of her day to stop by for a meet and greet, which I really appreciated. During each visit, she took tons of great pictures and provided a detailed update on how my cats were doing, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. I came home to two happy, well-cared-for cats! I would definitely recommend Amber and plan to book with her again in the future.
Gracie was awesome to work with from start to finish! I had to book last minute, but she was super accomodating. She was so communicative, was patient in trying to win over my shy kitty, and she even made sure mail and packages were secure. I will rebook with her again and highly recommend her!

5/5 Stars – Meticulous and Incredibly Caring! We hired Cadence to watch our furbaby while we were away on a week-long vacation to San Diego, and she was absolutely phenomenal. This was the longest we have ever been away from him, so we were naturally a bit anxious, but Cadence completely put our minds at ease. Her communication was fantastic throughout the entire week. She was so sweet, caring, and incredibly respectful of our home. She didn't just do the bare minimum—she took meticulous time every day to play with him, give him his treats, brush him out, and keep his feeding schedule perfectly on track. It is such a relief to find a pet sitter you can truly trust. We would definitely use Cadence again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for top-notch care for their pet!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
