“Alicia is a lifesaver!! She did a last-minute visit with my french bulldog and was amazing. Incredibly responsive and punctual. She sent the best photos and made me feel completely comfortable with her taking care of my dog! This was my first time booking a rover sitter and she immediately eased my nerves! I’ll definitely be rebooking with her in the future!”

“Gregory was amazing! This was my first time using rover & the longest I have ever left my babies, so I was pretty nervous about it all. He eased all my concerns. Kept me updated the whole time with lots of pictures. I didn't worry about them once. He even made sure to check that I made it back home after a late flight, to make sure the cats were taken care of for the night. All of this during Christmas too. Very thankful! 10/10 would recommend.”

“Jackie is amazing!! I booked her about a week in advance of when I needed care for my two dogs and she responded to the request almost immediately. Pictures and a summary at every visit and prompt communication. My two doodles loved her from the moment she walked in the door. Thank you thank you!! 😊”

About: I’m patient, gentle, and treat every pet like they’re part of my family. I follow your pet’s routine closely including feeding times, walks, favorite toys, and any special instructions so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’m easygoing, honest, and truly love spending time with animals. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or just keeping your pet company, I’ll make sure they’re happy and well cared for. My schedule is pretty much open, so I’m flexible and can accommodate your dog’s needs at various times. I’m looking forward to meeting your furry friend! Your dog will be in a safe environment with me. I have a fenced backyard with grass and doggy gates to ensure their safety and comfort.
About: Since I was a child, I have always had a family pet (or a few rather!). Growing up, I assisted in caring for my family’s 2 rescue Pit Bulls and our feisty cat. Now, I have a rescue dog of my own. I know how important it is to feel you leave your fur baby with someone you can trust and know they are getting all the love when you are away. As a frequent Rover user myself, I know first hand how important it is to provide top notch care to someone’s pet. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have dog-sat and house sat for several families in my area for years and they have all consistently become returning clients. I currently work as a speech therapist with special needs children Monday through Friday. My hours vary slightly day to day during the week, but I am never out of the house longer than 8 hours. I keep my weekends wide open and available all hours of the day on Saturday and Sunday as well as common holidays. I have experience with crating dogs ( my own dog it crated when I am not home). I also have first hand experience with reactive animals and can assure a safe walk with safe distance from other people/animals if your dog needs to be kept away from other animals. I am able to follow your instructions to administer medications to your pet.
About: With over a decade and a half of experience, I've cared for countless cats and dogs, from playful puppies to gentle seniors. Your beloved pet will be in capable and loving hands. My current job involves shifts of only 4 hours, which leaves me with ample time and energy to devote to your furry companions. I'm available for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight stays, ensuring your pet receives consistent attention and fun! When caring for pets in their own homes, I prioritize maintaining their familiar routine and environment. I ensure their safety by being vigilant about doors and windows, and I provide consistent feeding, fresh water, and plenty of exercise and affection according to your specific instructions. Your home will be treated with the utmost respect, and your pet will receive dedicated and loving attention.
“Angela did a great job with our two cats over the last week. Sending us a cute birthday picture of our one cat on his birthday and bringing a treat up to our cat everyday who tends to hide were those extra touches that put us at ease on our long trip.”

“Michael did a great job watching our dog Max. Max is not only old and fragile but he is also sick and I felt that he was not only in great hands because of the good care but he was also very kind and a great communicator. I am grateful to have found someone to leave my sick dog with while out of town. I will definitely be using Michael again.”

“Kristine and Michael took great care of our dog while I went out of town. We booked them for a week to come over each day for half an hour to give our dog food and water. They were very responsive and did everything we asked and more. I would highly recommend them to anyone!”

“Donna is amazing! My shy cat who has NEVER come out for anyone in the 2 years I’ve had him, came out for her by visit #2! She also sent very detailed notes and took lots of pictures. We are so impressed and will 100% use Donna again.”

“Brooke was by far the best sitter we have booked! Our dog is 100+ lbs with a dominant personality and he absolutely adored her. She gave him lots of love and long walks so he was smiling big time. She sent us thorough updates throughout our trip which we really appreciated! We will definitely book with her again.”

“Lindsay was wonderful! She is very caring with our dogs and took the time to get to know them. One of my dogs had a sick tummy while in Lindsay's care and she was so kind to clean up after her! She also picked up their poo in the yard! What a pleasant surprise!!! Not a lot of dog sitters do that! We will definitely use Lindsay again and again!”
About: Hi I’m Cayla! I am 26 years old and a dental student. I have a four year old mini Goldendoodle who is my best friend. I grew up with 3 dogs and a three legged cat. I have cared for dogs of all ages & am passionate about animals! I am currently available for early mornings and evening drop ins/walks on weekdays. I am available all day on weekends! Willing to do only morning/evening walks due to the hot pavement if needed. Since my dog gets anxious around other dogs, I cannot offer boarding in my home but always willing to do long walks, playtime, and drop in visits for your pet :)
“Diana did such an incredible job watching my cat while I was away. The detailed daily updates with several photos and videos were awesome and greatly appreciated. You can tell she truly loves cats and she took care of mine wonderfully, I have no doubt my cat felt loved and cared for which is all I could ask and I would not hesitate to book again! I’m glad I chose Diana! 🙂”

About: I’ve cared for, walked, and loved on pets since I was born. My family as well as other families and friends have trusted me with their pets. I know the importance and value of pets as part of the family, and I can promise I won’t disappoint. Some of my strengths include punctuality, timely communication, and gentleness. You can rely on me to take excellent care of your member of the family! My husband and I work full time Monday through Friday. We can be available in the evenings on work days and all day during weekends. We are home by 4 during work days and home in the evenings. We do live in an apartment, but there is plenty of grass and multiple dog park/play areas in our apartment community. We have plenty of space to put a crate or two in our apartment if needed.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Higley
One of the hardest things for us when we travel is leaving our fur babies at the mercy of someone we don’t know. From our initial contact to our final goodbye bye, Melissa was kind and responsive. The daily updates and pictures helped with our separation anxiety. We will be using Melissa for all of our pet sitting needs. Thank you!

This was our first time having Nina cared for by someone outside our circle and are appreciative that Amber was available over the holiday. She approached Nina with patience, which my wife and I really appreciated, and now understand Nina needs a little space when meeting someone new. We also appreciate how responsive she was and shared photos that made us feel at ease while we were away. We'll definitely consider Amber down the line. Thanks again!

Ambre was an absolute lifesaver for our two cats, Coconut and Kona! She stepped in at the last minute and provided phenomenal care. Her attentiveness, clear communication, and efficiency were beyond impressive. Ambre kept us updated with photos and messages, giving us complete peace of mind while we were away. She went above and beyond, ensuring our cats were happy, comfortable, and well-cared for. We couldn’t ask for a better sitter. Ambre was truly amazing, and we highly recommend her to anyone needing top notch pet care!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
