“Ananda was amazing - she was really helpful coordinating dates/times, she stopped by early to meet my dog, and she was lovely about keeping me updated with everything! I think she’d be a great sitter or walker that I’d recommend to anyone”

“Cynthia has been walking our dog, Pip, for the last six weeks while I recover from a foot injury and we really appreciate her. Our dog, Pip, was nervous about walking with a stranger but Cynthia was very flexible in figuring out how to make it more comfortable for Pip. Cynthia is quick to respond and shows up reliably. We really appreciate her help.”

“Esteban is awesome! He takes good care of Sunny, my terrier puppy. And sends me lots of detailed updates and wonderful photos. Sunny seems very relaxed and happy after walks/hangs with Esteban. Thank you so very much for all that you do!”

“Maia was great! Very friendly and you can tell she loves animals. She went out of her way to make sure my often anxious dog felt comfortable around her. Recommend.”

“Christine is detail-oriented and incredibly caring in her approach! She was communicative throughout, asked good questions as needed, and took extra care to ensure my dog Ellie trusted her and had a good time. An excellent helping hand!”

About: Hello! I've been pet-sitting professionally since September 2023 and have done walks, drop-in visits, and house-sitting for dogs and cats of various ages, sizes, temperaments, and medical needs. This includes caring for senior dogs who need mobility assistance and have a hard time hearing and seeing. I also volunteered at my local animal shelter during college, where I had weekly shifts walking, playing with, and socializing dogs in the shelter. Additionally, I have experience caring for my own pet rats, and others' rodents and reptiles (rabbit, guinea pigs, and bearded dragons). With clear instructions from you, I would love to care for any rodents, reptiles, amphibians, or birds as well! You can list these animals as "Cats" within your Rover profile. I have a 30 hour/week job in libraries and I work pet-care into my off-days, or before/after a work shift. I recently adopted my own cat, so I will mostly be offering drop-in visits and dog walks, but will be available for 1-3 night housesits. Let me know you and your pet's schedule and needs, and we can see if we're a good match! I like to get to know you and your pet before caring for them in order to make sure we’re a good fit (so, I do require a Meet & Greet before booking). Whether they're an energetic dog who will want a high energy walk, or a shy cat who might take some time getting used to a stranger, I want your pets to feel safe, cared for, and happy. Please note: I have a severe peanut allergy so if feeding your dog peanut butter or peanut treats is a big part of their routine, I won't be able to provide those foods, but if they can go without while in my care, that's okay!

“Cathy has been walking our anxious little rescue dog for over a year plus house/pet sitting as we’ve needed her. We are always so happy to know we have such a caring person with our pets! She provides such peace of mind. Couldn’t recommend more highly.”

About: I have had cats since I was born! I am highly experienced in caring for cats and currently have three of my own, in addition to caring for friends and neighbors’ cats at least once a month. I enjoy getting to know cats’ unique personalities, and feel an intuitive connection to them due to my lifelong history of living with and caring for cats. I’ve been called a “cat whisperer” before, and have been known to get even the most skittish cats to warm up to me! I also have experience caring for multiple small dogs, (including my “nephew”, the small white dog in my photo gallery!) and have experience regularly dogsitting for a good friend. I can provide walks, playtime, company, and cuddles (if your pet is the snuggly type!) I’m available to visit and care for your pets on weekends, evenings, and able to stop by during the day on most weekdays—I have a flexible work schedule with the option to work from home, so if we schedule with advance notice, I am also available for house sitting or longer visits! I am experienced with cat care and have cared for several small dogs. I am able to provide consistent visits, including feeding, play time, litter box cleaning, and/or 1-2 walks per day on weekdays and more on weekends or during housesitting stays. I will get to know your pet’s unique particularities and preferences, and genuinely enjoy connecting and playing with animals.
About: While you're away, your pup gets to play! I offer in-home dog sitting with a large, secure backyard, daily adventures, and plenty of love and attention. You'll get adorable photo updates so you can see your pup living their best life. Your dog gets more than just a sitter — they get a second home. My base price includes: room service with up to 3 meals per day, administration of up 5 oral medications, 24 hour indoor / outdoor access, daily enrichment - this can be a splash pool or peanut butter kong. Boarding walks add ons can include: one hour dog walk an off leash dog park adventure. Stand alone dog walking: At this time, I am happy to announce that I do adventure walks. An adventure walk is a hike either to Point Isabelle or to Oyster Bay in Hayward, depending on which is closer. These adventures happen with a long lead up to 12 feet long or off leash. Off-leash is only available for dogs with perfect recall gor their non-primary owners. Depending on the condition of your dog, these adventures can last one to two hours. Transportation costs are included in my pricing. Your friend will have free access to roam indoors and outdoors, sit on couches, or lay in the sun all day. If your dog needs a little bit of quiet time, they can have a private room with an air conditioner on hot days. I provide a pet-friendly house designed just for dogs, offering a cozy and safe home-away-from-home experience. With plenty of space to relax, play, and enjoy one-on-one time, your dog will feel loved and cared for. Let me know if you’d like to include off-leash dog park visits for extra fun or if your pup needs medications administered—I happy to accommodate. I will give your dog the attention and affection they deserve while you’re away!
About: I guarantee your dog knows I'm good people. With a very unfortunate allergy to cats, I've been a dog person since my first pooch at 13, a Jack Russell Terrier named Kody. I (somewhat sadly) have a lot of experience with elder dog care after caretaking my 12 year-old chihuahua Wesley after he was diagnosed with terminal congestive heart failure four years ago. Dogs aren't human but they are people, and they deserve the same consideration, attention, and care as any person. I work from home and live alone in a dog-friendly building, so I'm down for nearby walking and drop-ins, and a relaxed, quiet sleepover environment. Happy to arrange schedules that work best for you and your pup. I don't have a yard so much as a terraced downhill area, and it's unfenced, so potty breaks at my house will always be leashed. I very much believe in reading a dog's energy and behavior and matching it, so if your dog is a couch potato - cool, let's hang. If they're high energy, I can absolutely tire them out. Happy to take your pup to the park or the beach if you're okay with it.
“Kerri is amazing on walks with our energetic and reactive dog Buster! She's very kind and calm with him, and he responds so well with her. We also appreciate how prompt and communicative Kerri has been.”

About: First time booking with Rover? Use this promo code for $20 off: QISHUZ24398 Hi there! My name's Qishu (🔑👟). I moved to Oakland in 2023 to pursue a new dream - chiropractic medicine (for animals and humans)! I'm currently a full-time student and will be until the end of 2027. I was previously a sales engineer with IBM. I'd love to help all the cat and dog mamas/papas out here just as I had in Boulder, CO and, before that, Chicago, IL. I grew up with dogs since the age of 8 - mixed breeds, yorkies, labs, pitbulls, shepherds, terriers, corgis, chihuahuas, frenchies.. the list goes on!! One of the moments that confirmed I’d always want to work with animals was in college, when I helped care for my roommate’s pitbull/red heeler mix, Bridget. She is the sweetest girl, though she struggled with anxiety and health issues. Her teeth were worn down from chewing rocks in her past life, and she’d carry a little blanket around whenever she felt distressed. With her special diet, supplements, and medications, Bridget taught me what it meant to truly care for a soul who’d been through so much. That experience deepened my love and empathy for all animals in a way that’s stayed with me ever since. I would be honored to give your pets the love, exercise, and attention they deserve while you're away! I'm a huge advocate for providing pets with a great quality of life - more than just basic food and shelter. I'm happy to do any small extraneous tasks like getting the mail, watering plants, etc. Just let me know in advance! For my cat parents out there: Because of my 3 kids (Kina, Nemr, & Freyja) and a short stint fostering, I'm seasoned in all things cat/kitten: socializing, changing litter, oral admin of meds, treating fleas, bathing, nail trimming, de-shedding, training (sit, high-five, stand, turn-around, kiss). Since I’m a full-time student, my Rover calendar is currently limited to weekends and school breaks. That said, many families are comfortable having my partner, Ian, join when he’s available—which allows for a little more flexibility with scheduling. It’s a wonderful setup because Ian works from home (and is basically a dog at heart!), so your pets will almost always have company and care. Rest assured, it will only be me caring for your pets unless we’ve discussed and agreed otherwise. I’m also happy to bring Ian to our meet & greet and provide references upon request! I am responsible for creating a safe space for pets in their home. I make sure that they are comfortable and their boundaries are respected and understood with the guidance of their body language and the wisdom from their humans. All animals deserve patience, love, and empathy.
“Evan did an excellent job of persuading my reticent, recently adopted two-year-old to take walks with him and return her to me looking happy. She has separation anxiety so it's quite an accomplishment. He's been a real help as I am laid up from a minor medical event. Evan is a gentle, dog-smart, dog-caring handler. I'm glad to have him on my team.”

“We have been working with Costa and Monique for a few weeks now and it’s been great! Super communicative, consistent and great with our living and super energetic 65lbs pittie mix. She always comes back tired and ready for a nap. We highly recommend!”
