About: I grew up in a house that was always full of animals and kids, so chaotic and energetic animals do not phase me, and I can adapt well to whatever care plan is needed for your loved one. As an example of this, the last two dogs I cared for were very different personalities. I took care of an elderly 14-year-old Jack Russell, who was a bit blind so would nip on occasion, and needed spoon feeding and consistent potty breaks starting at 6am. Conversely, most recently I did a house-sitting stint for an owner of a rescued 5 yo Pitbull mix that needed almost constant attention and good tiring play. I have also housesat for many cat owners in the past few years of ranging personalities and needs; some needing some attention and play, others just needing food and water topped up, while another needed me to help her clean herself as she couldn't go to the toilet. I know that there are people with strict routines, and I understand that getting an external sitter or a walker can really mess with the structure you are trying to create. I want to help build that, not tear it down. I pride myself in being able to use positive reinforcement as an effective disciplinary method. I do not bribe or abuse the animals entrusted to my care. I work remotely, so I can be very flexible to the needs of you and your animals. In the case of early mornings of 6am and earlier, I would prefer to have the animals stay here or I stay at the clients' residence. I live on the second floor in an apartment building where everyone owns a dog. Having animals stay with me is no problem at all, but there is no yard, so for dogs it would be exclusively dog walking/dog park if they were to stay here. About: Dogs have always been a key component of my life. Recently, I simultaneously cared for a trio of Pit Bulls over the past decade. I have a large 'fenced in' back yard (40' x 220') and a walk-in dog shower in my basement if needed. I am a semi-retired school teacher.
