“Christina was so thorough when meeting my dogs and really took the time to understand their needs. She took great care of them and sent lots of detailed updates, which I really appreciated!”

About: With experience in both cat and dog sitting, I’ve cared for pets of family, friends, and neighbors, providing attentive and reliable care. My experience includes overnight stays and routine check-ins, ensuring pets receive the attention and comfort they need while their owners are away. My passion for animals shines through in my dedicated and compassionate approach to pet sitting. Being a college student, I fit pet care into my routine with evening care and playtime, ensuring pets get the attention and care they need. I do not currently have pets in my current home. I care for pets in other ways, such as drop-ins and pet walking. Thank you!
“Mont’e was absolutely amazing! He provided excellent care for my cat and dog while house sitting. I was pretty nervous to leave town and Mont’e was super kind and professional. He updated me regularly, took my dog on walks, and even took her to his family’s Christmas Eve celebration (after asking of course) because I was worried about her having separation anxiety! Mont’e treated my pets as if they were his own and when I came back they were both super calm and relaxed because of the great care provided. Mont’e was also super respectful of my home and left it very neat and tidy! Highly recommend Mont’e for all pet sitting needs, I’ll definitely be asking him to come back!”

“Avery did such a great job watching my cats while I was out of town! They can get a bit of separation anxiety but Avery sent me tons of pictures and videos each day so I could see them eating, playing, and cuddling which made me feel more comfortable about leaving them. They seemed happy and calm once I got back so I think they had a pretty great week thanks to her attention!”

“One of our dogs was sick while Kai’Lee watched him and she did a wonderful job taking care of him and cleaning up after. We very much appreciated her communication and care during visit.”

“Glenn was fantastic! He housesat for us and provided excellent care for our dog. Additionally, he provided updates on a daily basis and, upon return, our home was as neat as the day we left. Without a doubt we would request Glenn again.”

“Devaney was amazing with our high energy/high anxiety pitty mix. We were so nervous to leave because last time when we didn’t have a sitter (just intermittent walker/feeder) she tore up the place with anxiety. Devaney sent me frequent updates and pictures all weekend and we even came home to a very clean apartment. She gave my cat lots of loving as well! 10/10 recommend and will be booking with her again!”

About: I am a huge animal lover; I’ve had pets my whole life and know how much a routine matters to them, especially during a stressful time apart from their family. I’ve cared for a diabetic dog, giving insulin shots three times a day for years, and also babysat a diabetic cat — so I’m comfortable with medication schedules and special-needs care. I’m an active person who treats every fur baby like they are my best friend because that’s what they deserve! I have a flexible schedule and work from home Mondays and Fridays, so those days are perfect for midday walks or potty breaks — I can easily fit your pup into my schedule without rushing. On weekends, I’m open to house sitting or home visits, giving your pet consistent, attentive care while you’re away. I don’t board pets at my own home, so all care happens at your house, keeping your pet in their familiar, comfortable environment. During home visits or house sits, I follow your routines closely for feeding, walks, and medication, and I’m experienced with special and elder pet needs. I treat your home and pet with the same care and respect I’d want for my own.
“JJ was super communicative with me and very respectful of my kitties' preferences. They often don't want to be friends with new people, but they were cuddling up in just a few days! Fantastic kitty sitter!”

“Michael was awesome! Took great care of our girl and kept us posted with pictures and messages. So glad we decided to have him stay in our home as our dog is older and we didn't want to disrupt her routines. Would highly recommend and plan to use again.”

“Angela was great! She was very patient & gentle with my anxious dog during the meet & greet, so I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with her! They seemed to get along great during the stay. Angela was good about sending pics & communicating. Would hire again!!”

“Alexis was amazing and the best pet sitter I’ve ever had! She went above and beyond to make sure my kitties were well taken care of, and they loved her! Can’t recommend Alexis enough!”
“Courtney arrived 15-min early before we needed to leave. She did an outstanding job with our puppies while we were away. No accidents in the house! She occasionally sent us photos of the puppies while we were away. Courtney is a person of good character and work ethic you can trust.”

About: I’ve had cats, dogs, and other pets my whole life, trained my own dog myself, and provide flexible, attentive, loving care for animals of all kinds. I currently work part-time as a lifeguard at a local pool, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to walk, feed, play with, and care for pets throughout the day. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for by following their normal routines, giving them attention, exercise, clean spaces, and constant supervision when needed.
“Octavia did drop-in/housesitting visits with my pup for two long weekend trips and I was so happy with her! She sent great updates and lots of pics :) She spent a lot of time with our dog including plenty of walks and cuddles. Octavia was our regular dog-walker for a year before our schedules changed and we were so happy to have her back for two long weekends. Highly recommend for walks and housesitting!”

About: Hi, My most recent experience has been long term care for friends and families dogs. I offer to walk dogs multiple times a day, as well as check in multiple times a day. I also offer personalized behavioral training a recommendations. I have particular experience with behavioral issues like separation anxiety and difficulties walking on a leash and getting overwhelmed with various stimuli. Previously, I fostered large dogs with behavioral issues for the SPCA for 5 years. I have experience with dogs that are reactive, anxiety ridden and once with medical issues. I fostered the dogs until the issues are either managed or resolved and they are ready for adoption. I have experience primarily with large dogs. I am used to long walks and hikes with dogs. I primarily keeps dogs on leash but in the right circumstances I will let them off leash. However, I am very picky. I am open to walking l, check-ins and boarding. I’m in class a few times a month and working 1-2 days a week so I have times of availability to care for your pup. Thank you for considering me, Celine I’m a graduate student with minimal in class time so I have plenty of time to play and cuddle your pup. I love long walks and play time. I enjoy finding engaging activities that keep them mentally stimulated. I would like to get a sense of your pup and aspects of their care that are most important to you. This could be frequency of walking, caring for behavioral issues or simply giving them lots of cuddles. I can be in your hole where your pup is most comfortable or bring them to mine.
“We absolutely loved having Kaley watch our kitty, Pishi! She took care of him like he was her own baby—lots of playtime, cuddles, and love. We are sure Pishi misses her so much. Highly recommend her for anyone looking for a caring and attentive cat sitter!”

Devaney took the time to get to know our pets prior to pet sitting for us. She was able to form a positive relationship with our Boerbel, who is very untrusting of strangers. She took excellent care of our dogs, cats, other animals, and house. She sent text updates every day with pictures and videos. We will definitely hire Devaney again, and highly recommend her to others.

Sophie was a great house/pet sitter! She came over for a meet and greet and was very patient with our anxious dog Stevie and ensured both dogs got their medications. We got multiple updates and photos throughout the day and Sophie was responsive to updates/requests. Highly recommend!

Jimena is the best! She gave me such peace of mind while on my trip that Kiwi was being so well taken care of! She was super communicative and I could tell Kiwi had an amazing time with her. She went above and beyond in every aspect, I 100% recommend her and would rebook!

Mike was great for my first time ever having a dog/house sitter. Communications were right on time for each visit with photos and his thoughtful questions based on observed behaviors of my dog. She can be high maintenance at times and Mike did great with giving her meds, adjusting her diet when she goes on a “hunger strike,” and intuitively providing her extra care when necessary due to her anxiety and upset stomach. I’d definitely rebook with Mike in the future. Thanks again

Joseph was awesome! He sent over updates and photos throughout our trip and was quick to communicate back to us when we had any questions. He did overnight and was so respectful of our space (he even pulled the sheets off the bed and threw stuff into the washer, which was so nice). Our dog loved him, and we enjoyed seeing their interactions on our ring camera. We came home to a very happy dog and will absolutely try to grab Joseph to book again for any future trips.

Chris and Amanda are the best. Our dog Boone has a lot of anxiety but within minutes of our first meet and greet I could tell Chris and Amanda were a going to be a great personality fit. During our vacation they sent regular updates and photos, and when we returned home Boone acted like we had never even left! He was perfectly content and well-cared for during our week away. We will definitely book with them again for future travel. 10/10 would recommend!

We had Alexis watch our pup Bean over an extended weekend and she was absolutely amazing! Bean is super shy and has some medical needs, and Alexis was able to provide competent, solid care for her! We came home to a super happy, well cared for dog. She did a great job providing updates and asked great questions. We would absolutely have her back!

Esther took wonderful care of both my cat Oliver and my home while I was away on vacation. I came home to a happy cat and Esther kept me updated on him while I was away. I highly recommend her as a cat-house sitter and will definitely seek her out again when I travel.

Alia was amazing, she made sure to give me daily updates and pictures. She was even willing to add an additional drop by visit when our return time changed to make sure our dogs and cats were properly cared for while my husband and I were away for a week. The house was all cleaned up and she even went beyond what we asked of her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cleveland Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cleveland Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cleveland Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
