About: I have experience with many different animal species thanks to my work at the zoo! Patience and respect are the two most important elements I've incorporated into any interaction I have with animals. I care for my own cats every day, and frequently help my friends and family with taking their dogs on walks and stopping in to check on them. I work as a bartender, so even on the days that I work, stopping by to check on a pup or walk them during your workday is easy. I've stayed at multiple homes to care for other people's dogs. About: I am the person at a party that hangs out with the pets of the house instead of socializing. I have pretty much always had a dog in my house. I am currently my dog’s secondary care giver but during the day I become the primary. It was our first time leaving our 3 mo old dachshund puppy with anyone other than family, and they went absolutely above and beyond to make sure she felt comfortable with them, and that we were at ease before and during the stay. As our puppy can be quite high maintenance and is teething, we were very nervous to leave her with anyone, and after the weekend, I would feel completely comfortable leaving her with them again! they have two young dogs of their own, and shared the long resume of breeds and ages they’ve dog sat for, making it clear they knew what they were in for and how to provide her the attention she needed. They offered to come meet Frankie before the weekend booking, and sent loads of pictures and videos throughout the weekend. With our permission, they took her on lots of activities (dog park, to play with their puppies, to get coffee, etc.), which meant so much to us as socialization is crucial at this age. we appreciated them doing so much to keep the day to day similar to what she is used to when we are home. She was super accommodating and communicative, and my dog seemed so happy and well cared for. It gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. We had a wonderful experience with them! We really enjoyed meeting them beforehand and felt very comfortable having them care for our dogs. There were a couple of small communication details to work through at the beginning, but they were very resourceful and everything came together smoothly. They took our dogs on walks, kept them company, and gave them lots of attention. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pups and would absolutely have them watch our dogs again!

Mike was great for my first time ever having a dog/house sitter. Communications were right on time for each visit with photos and his thoughtful questions based on observed behaviors of my dog. She can be high maintenance at times and Mike did great with giving her meds, adjusting her diet when she goes on a “hunger strike,” and intuitively providing her extra care when necessary due to her anxiety and upset stomach.
