“Couldn’t recommend Avery any more. They gave me constant communication when things went a bit skew-whiff with Nacho’s recovery protocols while we were on holiday; showed incredible patience when he kept making it challenging and were humble enough to accept help from closeby relatives when it was required. Would 100 per cent book again if needed.”

About: With experience in both cat and dog sitting, I’ve cared for pets of family, friends, and neighbors, providing attentive and reliable care. My experience includes overnight stays and routine check-ins, ensuring pets receive the attention and comfort they need while their owners are away. My passion for animals shines through in my dedicated and compassionate approach to pet sitting. Being a college student, I fit pet care into my routine with evening care and playtime, ensuring pets get the attention and care they need. I do not currently have pets in my current home. I care for pets in other ways, such as drop-ins and pet walking. Thank you!
“Devaney took the time to get to know our pets prior to pet sitting for us. She was able to form a positive relationship with our Boerbel, who is very untrusting of strangers. She took excellent care of our dogs, cats, other animals, and house. She sent text updates every day with pictures and videos. We will definitely hire Devaney again, and highly recommend her to others.”

“Thank you so much for taking care of the dogs. We came home. Everything was tidy and neat. Everything had been well taken care of and we could tell that our pups were very happy and loved.”

“Angela was great! She was very patient & gentle with my anxious dog during the meet & greet, so I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with her! They seemed to get along great during the stay. Angela was good about sending pics & communicating. Would hire again!!”

“Shermont'e was very respectable and patient with our dogs, (our dogs can be shy meeting new people). He constantly gave us updates on how they were doing, and that our most shy dog warmed up to him by the end of his stay! 10/10 would recommend!!”

“Kai’Lee did a great job with my pups. They had a great time with her and she maintained order despite one escape attempt (under the fence) and a nasty stomach bug. They both love her!”

“Alexis was amazing and the best pet sitter I’ve ever had! She went above and beyond to make sure my kitties were well taken care of, and they loved her! Can’t recommend Alexis enough!”
About: I am a huge animal lover; I’ve had pets my whole life and know how much a routine matters to them, especially during a stressful time apart from their family. I’ve cared for a diabetic dog, giving insulin shots three times a day for years, and also babysat a diabetic cat — so I’m comfortable with medication schedules and special-needs care. I’m an active person who treats every fur baby like they are my best friend because that’s what they deserve! I have a flexible schedule and work from home Mondays and Fridays, so those days are perfect for midday walks or potty breaks — I can easily fit your pup into my schedule without rushing. On weekends, I’m open to house sitting or home visits, giving your pet consistent, attentive care while you’re away. I don’t board pets at my own home, so all care happens at your house, keeping your pet in their familiar, comfortable environment. During home visits or house sits, I follow your routines closely for feeding, walks, and medication, and I’m experienced with special and elder pet needs. I treat your home and pet with the same care and respect I’d want for my own.

About: Hi, My most recent experience has been long term care for friends and families dogs. I offer to walk dogs multiple times a day, as well as check in multiple times a day. I also offer personalized behavioral training a recommendations. I have particular experience with behavioral issues like separation anxiety and difficulties walking on a leash and getting overwhelmed with various stimuli. Previously, I fostered large dogs with behavioral issues for the SPCA for 5 years. I have experience with dogs that are reactive, anxiety ridden and once with medical issues. I fostered the dogs until the issues are either managed or resolved and they are ready for adoption. I have experience primarily with large dogs. I am used to long walks and hikes with dogs. I primarily keeps dogs on leash but in the right circumstances I will let them off leash. However, I am very picky. I am open to walking l, check-ins and boarding. I’m in class a few times a month and working 1-2 days a week so I have times of availability to care for your pup. Thank you for considering me, Celine I’m a graduate student with minimal in class time so I have plenty of time to play and cuddle your pup. I love long walks and play time. I enjoy finding engaging activities that keep them mentally stimulated. I would like to get a sense of your pup and aspects of their care that are most important to you. This could be frequency of walking, caring for behavioral issues or simply giving them lots of cuddles. I can be in your hole where your pup is most comfortable or bring them to mine.
“Emily is a wonderful housesitter! She communicated with me the week that I was on vacation about my cat and sent pictures daily. My boy was well taken care of and the peace of mind knowing he didn't have to spend a lot of time alone made a big difference. Emily visited us several days before her stay to meet my little guy and made sure she was familiar with his needs. She left the home immaculate as well. I highly recommend Emily for any pet needs and will definitely contact her when I have travel plans again.”

About: I’ve had cats, dogs, and other pets my whole life, trained my own dog myself, and provide flexible, attentive, loving care for animals of all kinds. I currently work part-time as a lifeguard at a local pool, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to walk, feed, play with, and care for pets throughout the day. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for by following their normal routines, giving them attention, exercise, clean spaces, and constant supervision when needed.
About: Yes it's been awhile but I'm back! I take care of pets like they're my children because they're the same in my eyes. Sweet & cuddly needing to be nurtured with compassion & great care. I've owned plus taken care of several pets including my dog for 10+ Years, my sister dog from pup to senior, and my beautiful feral cat of 4 years whom passed away. Throughout the years I've volunteered assisting with cats waiting to be adopted through cleaning, grooming, feeding, and companionship. My heart desire since childhood has always pulled towards owning a pet sanctuary to foster and take care of stray animals. That is my goal within the next 5 years ! A fun fact about me is I'm a master reiki practitioner which is also known as an energy healer with practices of shamanism. This info is for anyone who resonates with this and would like care to their pet in that capacity. With given permission and consent ! Right now in this summer season my schedule is open and flexible to become acquainted with the fur babies of earth until I return to Puerto Rico I have open and flexible availability for the remainder of summer season providing an arrange of services. Looking forward to meeting you and your fur family I care for pets as if they were mine and follow given routines or schedules if that is what's requested or in simply go with the flow providing my care, attention, and love. Just as people have boundaries I understand pets do as well and will respect that by observing body language.
“Courtney arrived 15-min early before we needed to leave. She did an outstanding job with our puppies while we were away. No accidents in the house! She occasionally sent us photos of the puppies while we were away. Courtney is a person of good character and work ethic you can trust.”

“Lee was a fantastic caretaker for our 2 Labradors. One of our dogs is very shy and Lee took the time to connect with her. She was very dependable and was in constant communication with us about how they were doing. She stayed in our home and when we returned, Lee had taken the time to tidy up before we returned with some light cleaning. I would highly recommend Lee.”

“If you're like us, we look for care providers with multiple reviews so we have a better idea of who we're hiring. But everyone needs to start somewhere, and this time we decided to give someone a chance who hadn't received reviews yet; boy did we luck out. Jaina did a fantastic job looking after our 80 pound loverboy, Luca. She stayed in our home while we were away five days, and both he--and our home--were well taken care of. He even got a daily walk (in winter, no less!). Jaina is who you want in a sitter: responsive, reliable and kind. She provided daily updates and photos of our dog, too. We would hire her again, and suggest you do too before people catch on and her rates go up.”

“Michael was awesome! Took great care of our girl and kept us posted with pictures and messages. So glad we decided to have him stay in our home as our dog is older and we didn't want to disrupt her routines. Would highly recommend and plan to use again.”

“Brittany was amazing! I could tell she was so kind to my dogs during the stay and really seemed like she cared. Extremely responsible as well. We can’t wait to have her back!”

Jimena, thank you so, so much! Rover people: Jimena is the best! She took extraordinarily great care of our three legged Pittie mix during an overnight stay, and it was so clear he had the BEST time with her. Jimena is warm, professional, friendly, and so thoughtful. It was an incredible relief to celebrate our anniversary knowing our Oliver was in such caring hands. Recommend 100% enthusiastically and hope we can hire her again!

Devaney took the time to get to know our pets prior to pet sitting for us. She was able to form a positive relationship with our Boerbel, who is very untrusting of strangers. She took excellent care of our dogs, cats, other animals, and house. She sent text updates every day with pictures and videos. We will definitely hire Devaney again, and highly recommend her to others.

Sophie was a great house/pet sitter! She came over for a meet and greet and was very patient with our anxious dog Stevie and ensured both dogs got their medications. We got multiple updates and photos throughout the day and Sophie was responsive to updates/requests. Highly recommend!

Mike was great for my first time ever having a dog/house sitter. Communications were right on time for each visit with photos and his thoughtful questions based on observed behaviors of my dog. She can be high maintenance at times and Mike did great with giving her meds, adjusting her diet when she goes on a “hunger strike,” and intuitively providing her extra care when necessary due to her anxiety and upset stomach. I’d definitely rebook with Mike in the future. Thanks again

We had Alexis watch our pup Bean over an extended weekend and she was absolutely amazing! Bean is super shy and has some medical needs, and Alexis was able to provide competent, solid care for her! We came home to a super happy, well cared for dog. She did a great job providing updates and asked great questions. We would absolutely have her back!

Esther took wonderful care of both my cat Oliver and my home while I was away on vacation. I came home to a happy cat and Esther kept me updated on him while I was away. I highly recommend her as a cat-house sitter and will definitely seek her out again when I travel.

Alia was amazing, she made sure to give me daily updates and pictures. She was even willing to add an additional drop by visit when our return time changed to make sure our dogs and cats were properly cared for while my husband and I were away for a week. The house was all cleaned up and she even went beyond what we asked of her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Cleveland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Cleveland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Cleveland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
