Kacie was amazing! 😁 She made sure to stay in touch during all her visits, gave such great care to our dogs, and was very sweet. She was very prompt, communicative, and you can tell how much she loves dogs. We highly recommend her and will definitely be reaching out again to have her help out with the pups.

About: Dog and cat owner. As pet parents it is our responsibility that our pets live a happy and healthy life. I give that to every animal that comes into my life! Currently working a hybrid schedule in a full-time role, so I’m home pretty often throughout the week! On the days I do go into the office, my mom stops by to take my dog for a walk and can give any dogs staying with me a midday break too. I have a super friendly 3-year-old Golden Retriever who loves other dogs and is always happy to have a friend around! When I’m working from home, I’m here throughout the day and have plenty of time between meetings and projects for walks, playtime, attention, and lots of company. When boarding, I’m home outside of my office hours, and your dog will get lots of playtime, walks, attention, and plenty of time to just hang out and feel at home! My pets are my priority. I always make sure things are put away and out of grasp for my dog. Food is never left out, especially foods that may be harmful to pets. I limit those off of my shopping list as much as possible. When we have other dogs over, they are offered fresh water, treats if allowed and all the toys they could desire. If a dog is not allowed certain toys due to being a shredder or if the toy poses a choking hazard, those toys go in the closet. I’m very careful and attentive, while having fun with all dogs!

About: I've pet-sat for dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, and guinea pigs since 2001. My sittings have ranged from a few hours to two weeks. I've sat for family, friends, and many parents here on Rover. My family has included two cats, Cleopatra and Caesar, and dogs Valentine, Athos, and Teddy. My goal as a sitter is to offer stability and enrichment while their parent is away. I'm available for drop-ins and overnights and happy to care for your home during the stay, watering plants, etc. My schedule is very flexible outside of my 9-5 at Yale. Why I love pet sitting Who doesn't love some fuzzy company? And I understand from watching our family pets how disorienting a kennel can be. In-home sitting puts pets (and you!) at ease when you're away, so they can enjoy the "vacation" just as much as you can! My experience administering medication I've given pill medication via pill packs and oral liquid medication via syringe. If your dog requires medication, happy to discuss. (In case you're wondering why my testimonials haven't been updated recently, it's because I took a break from Rover to be more available to sit for family and friends. Sadly, some of those lovely pets have passed away now. It means though that I have the availability to return to Rover and I'm happy to be back!) In my initial meeting with a family, I like to get a sense of the pet's routine to determine if I can recreate that for them while their parent is away. My schedule, aside from my 9-5, is dictated by the pet's needs. I prefer to care for a pet in their own home. Before accepting a new client, I like to meet the pet and the parent(s) to make sure we're all vibing. I determine routine/schedule/likes/dislikes with the parent(s) in advance and stay in touch if something needs to deviate, which is rare.

Rachel went above and beyond when caring for my dogs over the course of two days. She gave thorough updates and lots of pictures and videos. Our pups looked happy as can be while she was visiting! When we came back home, it was like we’d never left. Both dogs were super happy and content. Rachel’s prompt responses, care, and attention meant the world to us.

About: I have hands-on experience caring for and training dogs through working closely with my 1.5-year-old German Shepherd. I attend weekly training sessions with her and regularly practice and reinforce those skills at home. Through these classes, I’ve also gained experience working around other dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and training backgrounds. In addition to my practical experience, I’m currently pursuing a dog training certification with ISCDT to continue learning more about canine behavior and effective, humane training methods. Pet care fits naturally into my routine since I already build time each day around caring for and training my own dog. I’m available for walks and sitting on weeknights after 6:00 PM, Saturdays after 12:00 PM, and Sundays after 11:00 AM. I enjoy incorporating pet care into my evenings and weekends, and I make it a priority to give each dog my full attention, consistent care, and a positive experience. I provide attentive, reliable care tailored to each pet’s routine and personality. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I follow all care instructions closely for feeding, walks, playtime, and any training guidelines. Walks are safe and structured, and I prioritize positive reinforcement, patience, and keeping pets comfortable in their environment.

About: PLEASE READ FULL PROFILE BEFORE YOU BOOK AND CHECK THE CALENDAR AND SEE IF I AM AVAILABLE. THANK YOU! Hello! Thank you for your interest. I am located in beautiful Guilford on RT. 77. Very easy access from 95. Your dog MUST be house trained, vaccinated, and on flea/tick prevention. It is a quiet and small household and medium to low energy dogs do best here. We play fetch a lot and lots of walks in our big yard. I also walk a few miles a day and love the company! We also have a dog run. I take one dog at a time, so they get our total attention. We do not have any pets. PLEASE check my calendar for availability first. I do request a meet and greet, if you are a new client to make sure it is a good fit for us all. I do work Tue-Fri, so they MUST be ok home alone. Please make sure your dog's information is filled out prior to booking. We hope to hear from you soon! Thank you! I am a teacher. So I follow the teacher schedule (hrs, off time). The dog must be able to be left alone during the typical school hours. Pets are inside with me. When I go out I like to take the dog with me-car rides, walks, baseball games etc. If its too hot I do have central air.

About: I have always grown up with dogs in my life, and wanted to be a Veterinarian since I was little. I have worked at multiple humane societies caring for the dogs, and have an array of experience through schooling, and an externship at a Pet Clinic. I care deeply for animals of all types, and I would like to spend the rest of my life ensuring their wellbeing, and protection. I am confident that I can provide quality care for your furry babies, and make sure they are comfortable and happy! I have a keen eye for observing their behaviors/tendencies, so this will be important if they seem to be in pain or discomfort. I only want the best for your pet since I understand the importance of their companionship. I am currently traveling, so looking for some gig work while I’m on the East Coast, but usually I’m living in Hawaii and am self-employed, so I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I make sure to be patient with each animal and let them come to me. I won’t force them to be social, and will be aware of their behaviors to ensure safety and trust is built between us. Also being mindful of their interactions with other dogs or humans if they have any issues with them.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Guilford stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
