Melissa did a wonderful job with the drop-in visits for our cat. She was very thorough, provided good communication, and left everything spotless and in perfect order for our return. And she spent enough time here that our very shy cat was eventually willing to come out and be seen (from a distance). We will definitely rebook her for our future trips.

About: I’ve been around dogs for most of my life and currently have an 8-year-old French Bulldog of my own. I helped train her from a young age and attended dog training classes with her, which gave me experience with obedience, patience, and understanding different dog behaviors. In addition to caring for my own dog, I also have experience helping friends and family with their dogs through walks, playtime, and companionship. I genuinely enjoy being around animals and will always make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I just graduated from college and am working part-time over the summer, so I have plenty of time to care for your pups! I am available during the week and weekends in the morning and early afternoon. I live in a safe, walkable beachside neighborhood with plenty of open space for dogs to enjoy walks, playtime, and fresh air. The area is very dog-friendly, and I’m surrounded by other pet owners, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for pets.

Roger is a fantastic cat sitter. He is super reliable, communicative, flexible and great with felines. He took really good care of my cranky and cantankerous (and sweet) 15 yr old kitty. Roger went above and beyond to accommodate her while we were away for a week. He also knows kitty CPR which made me feel extra secure! I recommend him highly!

Sarah has been amazing to work with. She’s incredibly reliable, very communicative, and just an all-around friendly, positive person. My dog loved her instantly and now gets so excited every time she sees her, which says everything. She takes her on long walks and always sends great photo updates, so I feel completely at ease knowing how well she’s doing. It’s clear she genuinely cares. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and attentive to care for their pet!

About: I have extensive experience caring for dogs, including my previous dog, an 80-pound Golden Retriever. She could be reactive toward other dogs while on leash, so I became very comfortable handling strong dogs, staying calm in challenging situations, and maintaining control even when she was pulling. In addition to caring for my previous dog, I have regularly looked after neighbors’ and friends’ dogs by walking, feeding, and ensuring they were well cared for while their owners were away. In my personal life I love going on long runs up to 6 miles so if you have a higher energy dog that would like to join me I would love to take them with me! I am currently a university student, and I have off of school until the spring semester begins in February. I am free most weekends, and weekdays Monday-Friday. I am comfortable your dog or dogs in any environment. I have taken care of dogs that used special harness’ or prong collars so I know how to work those if needed. I love to run and hike so I can also bring your dog along if they are extra energetic!

What a wonderful cat sitter. Alexandra is an excellent pet sitter. We have a timid cat, yet she was able to sit on our couch and pett her. She was responsible for giving our cat pills for asthma and never missed the correct days. Our cat Mocha loved Alexandra taking care of her!! Can't say enough!!

About: I’ve had a dog since I was 6 years old, ranging in all different sizes. I find it imperative to treat all dogs as if they were my own. I’m currently a full-time fourth grade teacher who is looking for a part-time job during the week days, weekends and whenever I have a holiday break. Currently I am available for drop in visits or dog walking during the week anytime. I am also free for both of these services at anytime during certain weekends. I have a fenced backyard with two Labrador retriever. They are friendly and always makes me smile! I love taking them on walks, however they are still learning how to walk. So I am very patient and understanding!

My passion lies in delivering high-quality care to you and your beloved companion in the comfort of your home. I am currently seeking to utilize my available time during the week, coinciding with my partner's daytime work schedule, and I believe that providing in-home pet care services would be a fulfilling endeavor for me and the animal friends you love. I am ecstatic to meet with you and explore how I can help fill any gaps in your pets’ in-home care schedule. This was my first time using Rover, so I was a little apprehensive. But after meeting Adriana, I was confident that I was making a smart choice in choosing her to care for Donut. He took to her immediately, as did I. I loved knowing that he was in good, kind and very capable hands. She provided the most adorable pics of his daily “glamour shots”, where he’d ham it up for the camera. It gives me great joy and so much relief knowing I can call on her to take such good care of my boy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her services to anyone needing top notch pet sitting / pet-care.

About: I have over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for animals through my work at animal shelters and a luxury cat boarding kennel! Throughout that time, I have cared for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities, including shy cats, energetic dogs, senior pets, and animals with special care needs. My experience includes feeding, administering medications, cleaning runs and litter boxes, monitoring health and behavior, providing enrichment and exercise, and ensuring animals feel safe and comfortable. Working in shelter and kennel environments has taught me how to recognize signs of stress or illness, handle animals safely and compassionately, and adapt to each pet's individual needs. I understand how important it is for pet parents to know their pets are in caring and capable hands, and I am committed to providing reliable, personalized care and regular updates during every visit! I am currently working part-time at a luxury cat boarding kennel, which allows me to have a relatively flexible schedule for drop-ins and walks! I am also available to house sit, however I am unable to stay nights as I have an elderly kitty who gets lonely. My current availability is as follows: - Saturday & Monday from 8am-8pm - Sunday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 11:30am-8pm - Tuesday & Friday from 4:30pm-8pm When caring for your pet in your home, I focus on maintaining your pet's regular routine, carefully following all instructions to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free while you are away. My top priority is safety. I make sure doors, gates, and windows are secure, use leashes and harnesses as directed, and monitor pets for any signs of stress, illness, or injury. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are happy and well cared for! Additionally, I treat your home with the same level of care, ensuring it is kept clean, secure, and respected. I care for both your pet and your home as if they were my own.

About: Hi, I enjoy all ages of dogs and cats. I have had many, many dogs and cats growing up raising them from newborn puppies or kittens all the way into their senior years. I am well experienced in training puppies, playing with active cats/dogs and caring for sick or aged pets as well. I have also volunteered for many rescue organizations, most recently Meriden Humane Society. The joy animals bring me, far surpasses any other career I've had throughout the years. I currently am transitioning into part-time retirement of running my own HVAC company and I would like to start doing what I enjoy more; caring for animals(and plants!). I currently have a very active, under one, golden retriever and a 6 year old golden retriever. We love to go outside and throw the ball, play in the wading pool, or let the dogs play together in the backyard.

About: I’ve been taking care of a wide variety of dogs over the last 17 years. I have experience with puppies that are house training, dogs with high energy levels, older dogs with health issues, and a wide variety of breeds. I grew up with multiple dogs, so they have always been a big part of my life. I work from home, so my schedule is extremely flexible and allows me to assist in whatever ways you need. I’m able to take your dog for long walks at pretty much any time of day, I can come over to give your dog potty breaks, and I can stay over for extended periods of time if needed. I have dog sat for multiple families and am able to do whatever works best for you! I’m totally comfortable staying over and caring for your dog and house, or coming over multiple times a day to check on/play with/walk your fur baby if that’s what you prefer.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Westbrook stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Westbrook. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
