“Sharon will definitely be my Rover choice when I’m in Waterford/Old Lyme CT area. My grumpy old man loves her. Sharon takes the stress off of us worrying about our baby because he’s in great hands with her. Highly recommend her. Day 2!!!”

“The drop in visits for my cats were greatly appreciated. Cayton reported issues with behavior when they came up, took pictures and all around took good care of the cats.”

“Sarah has been amazing to work with. She’s incredibly reliable, very communicative, and just an all-around friendly, positive person. My dog loved her instantly and now gets so excited every time she sees her, which says everything. She takes her on long walks and always sends great photo updates, so I feel completely at ease knowing how well she’s doing. It’s clear she genuinely cares. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and attentive to care for their pet!”

About: I have over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for animals through my work at animal shelters and a luxury cat boarding kennel! Throughout that time, I have cared for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities, including shy cats, energetic dogs, senior pets, and animals with special care needs. My experience includes feeding, administering medications, cleaning runs and litter boxes, monitoring health and behavior, providing enrichment and exercise, and ensuring animals feel safe and comfortable. Working in shelter and kennel environments has taught me how to recognize signs of stress or illness, handle animals safely and compassionately, and adapt to each pet's individual needs. I understand how important it is for pet parents to know their pets are in caring and capable hands, and I am committed to providing reliable, personalized care and regular updates during every visit! I am currently working part-time at a luxury cat boarding kennel, which allows me to have a relatively flexible schedule for drop-ins and walks! I am also available to house sit, however I am unable to stay nights as I have an elderly kitty who gets lonely. My current availability is as follows: - Saturday & Monday from 8am-8pm - Sunday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 11:30am-8pm - Tuesday & Friday from 4:30pm-8pm When caring for your pet in your home, I focus on maintaining your pet's regular routine, carefully following all instructions to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free while you are away. My top priority is safety. I make sure doors, gates, and windows are secure, use leashes and harnesses as directed, and monitor pets for any signs of stress, illness, or injury. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are happy and well cared for! Additionally, I treat your home with the same level of care, ensuring it is kept clean, secure, and respected. I care for both your pet and your home as if they were my own.
“This was my first time using Rover, so I was a little apprehensive. But after meeting Adriana, I was confident that I was making a smart choice in choosing her to care for Donut. He took to her immediately, as did I. I loved knowing that he was in good, kind and very capable hands. She provided the most adorable pics of his daily “glamour shots”, where he’d ham it up for the camera. It gives me great joy and so much relief knowing I can call on her to take such good care of my boy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her services to anyone needing top notch pet sitting / pet-care.”

About: I’ve been around dogs for most of my life and currently have an 8-year-old French Bulldog of my own. I helped train her from a young age and attended dog training classes with her, which gave me experience with obedience, patience, and understanding different dog behaviors. In addition to caring for my own dog, I also have experience helping friends and family with their dogs through walks, playtime, and companionship. I genuinely enjoy being around animals and will always make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I just graduated from college and am working part-time over the summer, so I have plenty of time to care for your pups! I am available during the week and weekends in the morning and early afternoon. I live in a safe, walkable beachside neighborhood with plenty of open space for dogs to enjoy walks, playtime, and fresh air. The area is very dog-friendly, and I’m surrounded by other pet owners, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for pets.
“What a wonderful cat sitter. Alexandra is an excellent pet sitter. We have a timid cat, yet she was able to sit on our couch and pett her. She was responsible for giving our cat pills for asthma and never missed the correct days. Our cat Mocha loved Alexandra taking care of her!! Can't say enough!!”

About: I have extensive experience caring for dogs, including my previous dog, an 80-pound Golden Retriever. She could be reactive toward other dogs while on leash, so I became very comfortable handling strong dogs, staying calm in challenging situations, and maintaining control even when she was pulling. In addition to caring for my previous dog, I have regularly looked after neighbors’ and friends’ dogs by walking, feeding, and ensuring they were well cared for while their owners were away. In my personal life I love going on long runs up to 6 miles so if you have a higher energy dog that would like to join me I would love to take them with me! I am currently a university student, and I have off of school until the spring semester begins in February. I am free most weekends, and weekdays Monday-Friday. I am comfortable your dog or dogs in any environment. I have taken care of dogs that used special harness’ or prong collars so I know how to work those if needed. I love to run and hike so I can also bring your dog along if they are extra energetic!
“Roger is a fantastic cat sitter. He is super reliable, communicative, flexible and great with felines. He took really good care of my cranky and cantankerous (and sweet) 15 yr old kitty. Roger went above and beyond to accommodate her while we were away for a week. He also knows kitty CPR which made me feel extra secure! I recommend him highly!”

About: Hi, I enjoy all ages of dogs and cats. I have had many, many dogs and cats growing up raising them from newborn puppies or kittens all the way into their senior years. I am well experienced in training puppies, playing with active cats/dogs and caring for sick or aged pets as well. I have also volunteered for many rescue organizations, most recently Meriden Humane Society. The joy animals bring me, far surpasses any other career I've had throughout the years. I currently am transitioning into part-time retirement of running my own HVAC company and I would like to start doing what I enjoy more; caring for animals(and plants!). I currently have a very active, under one, golden retriever and a 6 year old golden retriever. We love to go outside and throw the ball, play in the wading pool, or let the dogs play together in the backyard.
About: I have had all sorts of pets since I was a kid from bunnies, guinea pigs and hamsters to dogs and cats. I have a dog of my own. She is a sharp-eagle. She is about 2 years old and loves all dogs. I would love to bring her along with me to go on walks etc at your approval. I am currently a nanny part time and a part time student at SCSU. I would have plenty of time to care for your furry friend on the weekends. I care for your pets in your home and will follow any directions for caring for your furry friend. Whether its feeding and or playing or walking I am there to care for your pet in the time of need.
“JoAnne is a quick study and expertly navigated her way around the quirks of each animal! This is our first experience with her, and we returned from our trip to happy, healthy babies. We appreciated her brief, daily updates and look forward to working with JoAnne again for future coverage!”
“Angela was a great communicator and did exactly what we asked of her. Remy welcomed her right away and enjoyed his walk and playtime. I would highly recommend Angela for your little fur baby.”

About: I have grown up caring for a Golden Retriever my entire life, giving me deep, hands-on experience with dogs’ needs, routines, and behavior. I understand the importance of consistency, exercise, patience, and affection to keep dogs happy and healthy. I work from home, so your dog will have constant supervision, attention, and care throughout the day. I typically step out for about one hour to go to the gym, but otherwise I’m home to ensure your dog stays safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I provide attentive, in-home care by maintaining your dog’s normal routine, ensuring they receive plenty of exercise, companionship, and affection. I live with people my age, which means your dog will stay engaged, active, and stimulated through frequent walks, playtime, and social interaction. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I prioritize safety, consistency, and making sure your dog feels comfortable and happy.
About: I have been house sitting overnight since I was 14. I have experience working with dogs, cats, mice, and flying squirrels. Believe it or not, I have taken care of dogs who were indoor-trained only.I am also an experienced dog walker- not just with my own dogs but with friends' dogs that I've loved as my own. **serious inquiries only** please do not send me a booking request if you're going to ghost me after I respond or if you plan to book with another sitter. You'd be surprised by how often this happens. I abide by the safety precautions at the homes I stay at (fences, ring cameras, etc). When I stay with indoor cats, I take extra precautions when leaving the house to make sure the cats don't escape.
“I couldn’t be happier with the care my two cats received! Serenity was absolutely amazing, she went above and beyond to make sure they were not only well fed and safe, but also loved and comforted while I was away. She provided regular updates, photos, and was incredibly responsive and kind. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such great hands. I would 100% book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter!”

Yvonne is absolutely the best dog sitter! She has been caring for my golden retriever for years and before that was caring for a rescue in our family. She is reliable, communicative, every dog loves her - AND she gets the cutest pictures!! I couldn’t ask for a better sitter.

- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
