About: Aloha! I’m Amber, a pet sitter based in Grand Junction, Colorado, with 14 years of pet care experience. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from puppies to seniors, as well as a wide variety of breeds and sizes, ranging from Yorkies to Great Danes. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and individual needs, and I tailor their care accordingly. - I currently offer boarding in my home for up to three dogs from the same household at a time, allowing me to provide each guest with plenty of individual attention and care. My goal is to provide a comfortable, home-like environment where your pets can feel safe, settled, and cared for while you’re away. - In addition to dogs, I have previous experience caring for cats, birds, reptiles, and other small animals. I’m not currently offering standalone boarding services for these pets; however, additional pets from the same household may be considered when boarding your dog. - At this time, I’m only offering boarding in my home and am not available for in-home pet sitting at other locations. Feel free to message me with any questions or to discuss your pet’s individual needs! I work from home, so I’ll be available throughout your pet’s stay to help maintain their normal routine and make sure they feel comfortable and secure. Home Environment: My home has a fully fenced backyard for safe outdoor time, play, and potty breaks. We also live just a short drive from a local trail and park. I have a 20 lb male Havanese who lives in the home. - Drop-Off & Introductions: I typically do a quick door hand-off at drop-off to help keep the transition calm and minimize distractions. Once your dog(s) come inside with me, they’re given time to explore the space at their own pace. We’ll unpack their things and give them some time to settle in and get comfortable before introducing them to my dog. Introductions are done one-on-one, gradually, and under my close supervision. Feel free to get to know my dog by viewing his profile below! Please note that my dog does not participate in meet & greets. - Exclusive Care & Multiple-Household Bookings: For safety and to help everyone adjust comfortably, I accept no more than three guest dogs at a time. For dogs who are reactive or have higher exercise and enrichment needs, including some high-energy and sporting breeds, I may limit this to two depending on my partner’s schedule so I can provide each dog with the attention they need. I’ve recently opened up my schedule to accept weekend daycare bookings from different households at the same time. At the time I respond to your initial request, I actively consider your dog(s) on my schedule while we’re ironing out the details. If another household is interested in the same dates, I’ll always let you know and discuss it with you first. I will not accept another household once your dog(s) are already in my care unless it has been discussed and approved by you prior to arrival. If you prefer exclusive care, please let me know! There is no additional charge for exclusive care, and once your booking is confirmed as exclusive, I will not accept another household for the same dates or overlapping drop-off/pick-up times. If there happens to be a same-day drop-off/pick-up conflict due to close timing windows, I’ll work with you to see if your dog(s) are comfortable riding in my car or truck and whether pickup or drop-off at your home would be a good option. Certain households will automatically receive exclusive care, including females in heat, intact males, puppies who are still completing their vaccination series, and senior dogs with modified vaccination schedules. For multiple-household bookings, I will confirm that all dogs are up to date on core vaccinations plus Bordetella. Safety comes first, and multiple-household bookings will always depend on each dog’s temperament, needs, and compatibility. - Supervision & Separation: Playtime is supervised, and separation from my own dog using a playpen or kennel is available as needed for individual enrichment, personal space, or throughout the stay if your dog(s) are more comfortable on their own. Dogs are also separated during mealtimes based on their individual needs, feeding habits, and comfort levels. - Routines & Training Tools: If your dog normally sleeps or eats in a crate, please bring it with them when possible so I can maintain their usual routine. Depending on the size of their crate or setup, I may not always be able to accommodate their typical arrangement, so please let me know in advance. Barking is completely expected, so please don’t worry if your dog tends to be vocal. I just appreciate a heads up! If your dog currently uses a clicker, e-collar, muzzle, or other training tool as part of their established routine, I’m happy to continue using it during their stay. Please let me know ahead of time and provide any instructions needed for proper use. - Last-Minute Bookings & Availability: For last-minute bookings, I may have prior commitments that require me to be out of the home for a short period. If so, I’ll let you know prior to confirming. My partner, Dalton, also works from home and would be here during that timeframe to watch over your dog(s). I also have two Furbo cameras set up in the home so I can check in while I’m away. - At this time, I only offer pet sitting in my home and am not available for in-home sitting at other locations.

“Julia is AMAZING!!! We have boarded our dogs with her, as well as dropped them off for doggy daycare. She has a clean, secure yard and we never worried about our dogs getting out. She communicates frequently and sends photos of the pups playing. Our dog Echo loves Julia's dog Abby and gets so excited to see her! I also appreciate that Julia does a meet and greet with any new animal to make sure everyone is comfortable! 10/10 would recommend!!!”

This is my first time leaving Carlton so I was very nervous. She gave me a tour of her home and yard at our meet and greet. She also sent several photos during his time at daycare which made me feel so much better. When I picked him up that evening, he was very calm in his kennel and seem to have done very well during his visit

Eleshia was welcoming and her calm presence was reassuring. My dog Shilo and I are rarely separated so he was understandably a little concerned when i left him. I had the impression that Eleshia helped him feel safe and soothed his worries, and gave him the attentive presence he needed to relax. It was super helpful to know that he was in good hands while I was dealing with appointments. I would definately feel comfortable leaving Shilo in her care again!

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Fruitvale

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Fruitvale commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

Yes, you can find sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. Many sitters can respond to messages in under an hour.

To find the fastest available match, message multiple sitters with a recent "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
