About: I’ve loved animals since I was a child. Had a family dog. Became a cat owner in 2021 with 1 kitten now I’m married and we have 5 cats total. Currently between work so I have plenty of flexibility to care for your pets throughout the week. Most days I’m pretty flexible except for Sundays. As a pet owner myself I understand the priority of safety and well being for the pets. I will make sure they are safe and cared for in a loving manner according to your requirements and their needs.

About: I grew up surrounded by dogs and have loved them for as long as I can remember, so caring for animals is second nature to me. In fact, I’m the proud owner of a sweet 4-year-old Golden Retriever, so I fully understand the daily dedication, love, and attention that dogs need to thrive! For over a decade, neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me to check in, feed, walk, and play with their pets. I treat every animal with the same high level of care and patience that I give my own pup, ensuring they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Pet care is a seamless part of my daily routine since I already manage a structured schedule for my own dog. I have excellent availability throughout the week for drop-ins, walks, and playtime, ensuring your pet gets consistent attention and care right when they need it. Having grown up around dogs and raising my own pup, I know exactly how to maintain a safe, low-stress environment. I treat every home with the utmost respect and ensure all environments are secure before playtime. You can always count on receiving frequent communication, photo updates, and careful attention to your pet's specific safety needs. I also have a fenced in backyard at my own home and a 4 year old friendly golden retriever.
“Maria did an excellent job caring for our two dogs while we were away. She was punctual, arriving and leaving exactly as scheduled, and followed all of our instructions perfectly. She also kept us updated with detailed reports, which gave us great peace of mind. It’s clear she is responsible, dependable, and genuinely cares about the pets she watches. We would absolutely recommend Maria to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!”

About: I have always loved all kinds of animals! I have experience with numerous kinds of dogs and cats, of all ages and demeanors. I have housesat and pet sat since I was in High School, and can help look after your plant babies as well. I also have Volunteer experience at my local dog shelter, so I know how to deal with dogs in high stress environments. I do work afternoons on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, but even then, I am free beforehand and am always back before dinner time. I will prioritize your pet and can offer to go over multiple times a day, and I’m free the whole day when I don’t have work! I prefer to care for pets in clients homes since they are more used to their environment and because I have roommates at my home.

“Anne is the best!!! I am so happy I found her to take care of my babies while I was gone. She went above and beyond and blew my expectations out of the water! I will book her again and again!”

“Anika did great with my puppy Milo! He was all tuckered out after spending time with Anika. She was flexible with my crazy schedule and kept me updated on how Milo was doing. I will definitely be asking Anika to watch Milo again in the future!”

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was very young, I grew up my whole life with dogs and cats, of all ages (puppies and kittens to senior dogs and cats), I absolutely love animals, and am flexible to adjust to your pets specific needs 😊 I am currently working as a Private Investigator part time, and am joining the Marine Corps, however, I know my schedule in advance and am pretty much 100% free whenever you need someone to look after your baby! I am very flexible and understand that pets can be spontaneous sometimes! I am able to adjust to whatever you and your pets needs are!

About: "Looking for a sitter who truly speaks animal? I have spent my entire life caring for an incredible variety of pets, giving me the unique skills needed to handle almost any animal family. My experience includes giant dog breeds (English Mastiffs and Great Pyrenees), livestock (horses, chickens, and goat herds), and exotic reptiles. Today, I am a proud parent to a cat and two Holland Lop rabbits! Because I have lived alongside animals my whole life, I excel at reading their body language, vocal cues, and unique personalities. I am ready to provide a premium, loving, and safe environment for your babies!" I'm newly a father and am currently on paid family leave, and am available most days. My daily routine includes waking around 3am and getting the day started. I have several 2 hour blocks of time throughout my day that are not currently filled with any activities, perfect for caring for your pets! In My Home (Cat & Rabbit Friendly): Separate Zones: I maintain dedicated, safe zones for my resident cat and two Holland Lop rabbits to prevent stress. Exotic-Safe Space: My home environment is calm, secure, and adapted to handle specialized pet needs without disruption. Escorted Outdoor Time: Any outdoor access is strictly supervised within secure boundaries. In your home: Home Security: I strictly follow your home entry, locking, and alarm instructions to ensure property safety. Consistency: I mimic your exact feeding, walking, and crating schedules to minimize your pet's separation anxiety. Communication Expert: My lifetime of experience with giant breeds, livestock, and exotics means I actively read body language to prevent stress or conflict, and can quickly soothe an agitated pet. Daily Updates: I send frequent text and photo updates so you know your pets are safe, happy, and thriving. Emergency Ready: I keep your preferred vet information on hand and maintain a clear action plan for urgent situations, prioritizing your pets health above all else!

I am a very outgoing, energetic and loving person when it comes to pets. I have had to take care of numerous dogs and cats for neighbors and family friends and friends in general and they all rely on me to take good care for them and I end up getting the job done! I am a student athlete at the University of Mary Washington, now that our season is over, my hours are more flexible and I have ample time to go on walks and watch the pets so they get a good stretch and playtime. I live in an apartment but I have a fenced grass area outside of the apartment where the dog can roam freely while always being under my watch. My roommates are dog people so they will definitely be playing with the pet as well to make sure they are having a good time.

We have been with Kathryn for almost a year! She is the absolute best sitter you could want. She communicates quickly and gives the most thorough updates on my dog. She provided enrichment and love to my dog Fern. We are so sad to be moving this month and leaving Kathryn, we can only hope to find as good of a sitter the next place we live.

Extenuating circumstances left our dog with diarrhea while we were gone :( Erin not only staying in close contact with us, answering our questions about what she saw and requests for pictures to see if he had other symptoms that meant we should get him to the vet for the rest of our vacation, but she took the time to clean the accidents he did have between the 2 daily visits we booked. She went above and beyond in a really "shitty" situation, and we are SO thankful.

Cheyenne was so great and responsive when I was desperately needing a last-minute dog sitter! She quickly got back to me and kept me updated whenever she would stop by. I really appreciated the detailed check-in summaries and all of the fun pictures (: my pup looked so happy each time!

One of the best dog sitters I’ve ever had in a very long time. She’s very patient very kind and she plays with my pups. Lillian Buddy takes them out. Give a report and also come back again just to make sure that they’re relax. I work in Washington DC and I am very grateful for her to be with my Lillian and Buddy Always recommend her.

Madeline was a great sitter! She sent daily updates and took care of my fur-kiddos like they were her own! I appreciated her attention to my pups needs and adjusting her stays to be a little longer to make sure the pup ate & felt loved. 10/10 and will certainly be using her again! Thank you Madeline!!

Taylor gave me peace of mind that Roanoke was doing well while our AC went out all week. Luckily the weather wasn’t too hot so everyone was safe! She also made me aware of any tummy issues Roanoke was having and worked with Rover on my behalf to ensure we weren’t overcharged after a technical blip. Thanks so much!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking.
