“Ligia did a good job caring for my two dogs in their doggie day care stay. Does a good job of slowly introducing new dogs to each other and respecting if certain dogs don't want to play with others. Her house and yard are set up in a way that allows her to separate animals, if needed. She communicated well with me and was available at the agreed upon times. We will be booking with her again in the future.”

“Susannah is amazing! She was able to accommodate my last minute booking. She fed my pup with her pup's food because I completely forgot to pack his. She walked, played and kept me updated on my puppy. Gus gets a wiggle butt when he sees Susannah and her pup. She's been so great to work with.”

“I was so happy to find this sitter! We just adopted a rescue dog. He has a lot of anxiety. He needs special care while he is adjusting to his new home. Because of his anxiety he needs a low stimulation environment. She has been so good working with my dogs special needs! I can’t say enough good about her!! We are so grateful for the care she has given our dog!!”

“Jacob and Sarah were great! My dog did awesome with them and they took really good care of him! They are flexible and very nice people who truly love animals. I highly recommend them!!”

About: I've been caring for dogs of all ages for over 7 years. I worked at a dog daycare for over 5 years. I helped watch up to 30 dogs of all ages and sizes on my own. I also helped bathe them, trim/dremmel their nails, and clean their ears/teeth. I currently work remotely from 10am-7pm. Also my account is marked as a smoking home as for boarding and daycare purposes as my mother-in-law lives with us and she smokes in her room. I do not smoke at all. I have experience handling multiple dogs at once. I have been certified for cpr for canines as well. I have also been trained to break up incidents between dogs as well through my job at a dogdaycare and apply basic medical treatment to injuries.
“⸻ Pedro had an amazing day with Yeny and Ray! He got plenty of playtime with his new furry friends, Charlie and Leo. When we got home, Pedro was happily tired and ready for bed. Yeny and Ray sent us photos and videos throughout the day, and communication was great. We’ll definitely book with them again!”

“Our dear Pup ALWAYS has a good time hanging out with Larissa! When he knows that we’re pulling up to her house, he starts to get SUPER excited which makes us feel good❤️! She is truly a godsend!!”

“Sarah is wonderful with my dog Fern! She took the time to introduce her 2 dogs to Fern before daycare started. I could tell Fern had a great time! Definitely will be staying at Sarah's for future visits!”

“Connie sent entertaining pictures if our pooch (Lucy) all day and they showed how much fun she was having. Despite being very tired, Lucy did not want to leave”

“Svetlana took great care of our 2 dogs on a last minute notice for the day. She is so kind, and good with the dogs. Her house is clean and tidy (1 of my dogs likes to chew everything), and she has a nice large fenced in yard for the dogs to run around in. I highly recommend her, and will definitely book with her again. Thank you so much!!”

“Chris was very patient, flexible, accommodating, and understanding. We had last minute plans and needed someone to look after our Saint Bernard. We did a meet and greet and a daycare session to get her comfortable before we leave and he did a great job!”

About: Been taking care of pets since I was in Highschool. It was always a fun way to get my pet fix since we didn’t have any growing up! Stay at home mom of 3 young boys so I’m always home. This will give us a new purpose during the day which is much needed. It will also give me the chance to spend time with all these sweet animals instead of trying to own a million of them myself 😂 A bonus of booking with me is your pet will get lots of one on one attention as this is not like your average corporate kennel. We provide a cozy environment within our home. Your animals will get all the love and attention all the while getting treated as one of our own🤍 I am trying to put my sweet boys through private school and thought this would be an awesome way to do so since it’s something me and my whole family will love! Big animal lovers over here:) We will provide a loving home with a big fenced in back yard for all to play. Can’t wait to love on and help take care of/entertain your fur babies!
“Christie was AWESOME! She sent videos of my Dallas frolicking happily in her spacious backyard which put my mind at ease that he was having a wonderful time in her care! She is very loving, and attentive dog lover and I’ll definitely be calling on her again in the near future!”

About: I absolutely adore animals. I have four children who are also huge animal lovers so if you board with us in home your pet will be absolutely doted on. Pet parents will be hard pressed to find a family that will take better care of your pet or give them as much love and attention. I love being outside and going on long walks and would love to accompany your dog on their daily walk. We have a tremendous amount of time to play with your pet, take them on walks, and give them the attention they not only require but also deserve. We have a decent sized fenced in yard which is perfect for lots of play time! We are very attentive to animals and have experience giving medication including shots.

About: Hi there! I’m a caring and reliable dog sitter who truly enjoys getting to know each dog’s unique personality. I have experience with all kinds of dogs, including those who are shy or anxious, and I always take a calm, patient approach so they can feel safe and comfortable at their own pace. With anxious dogs especially, I focus on creating a gentle, low-pressure environment by slow introductions, calm energy, and routines that help build trust over time. I pay close attention to body language and adjust to whatever each dog needs in the moment, whether that’s space, reassurance, or a quiet walk. I also make sure to follow all care instructions closely and keep you updated with messages and photos so you always know how your pup is doing. My goal is to be someone you and your dog feel completely comfortable with, like a trusted friend who shows up and cares every time. All dogs need to be current on their vaccinations (including bordatella) and flea/tick preventative. Please provide a screenshot of their most recent shots through the Rover app. If I have more than one dog: I do separate them while they are eating, when I am away from home, and at night. PLEASE NOTE: If you plan on booking for extended stay, our price is $40 a night for 5 days. I'm currently not employed so your pet will be attended to at all day! Any accommodation you need for them, I can surely provide at any time. I have a fenced yard and currently no other pets in the house, meaning your pet will have 100% of our time and attention so they don't feel out of place!

We were near Fredricksburg for the the weekend and we wanted to go eat at the restaurant so we found Kindall; luckily she was only 4 minutes away from where we wanted to dine. We were able to drop him off , Kindall greeted us outside and Spider felt comfortable right away with her. We felt at eat ease leaving him for about 2 hours. We were able to enjoy our meal without having to rush and even went shopping after. Kindall kept us updated by sending us photos and communicating. We did not have to give her anything as she said she would give him her own treats. We will highly recommend and use Kindall in the future again, she was very sweet and patient with spider.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
