“Charles was kind, responsive, and took amazing care of our dogs. He checked in with us daily and sent photos. Our dogs looked happy and relaxed upon our return. Thank you for taking such good care of our babies!”

“Emily was awesome she took care of my 3 pups for the weekend while I was attending a wedding out of town she took great care of them sending me updates and pictures I will definitely be using her service again in the future Thank you Emily”

“My wife and I knew the moment we met Emily she was the real deal. We are vacationing and needed a sitter for our large GSD, Shadow for an evening. Emily responded right away and offered to do a meet and greet. Shadow loved Emily, we did too. Emily sent us photos and we had forgotten to ask for them. I have no doubt Emily will take as good of care of your fur baby as she did ours. I wish Emily was in Michigan.”

“I have a lot of anxiety when I leave our dogs, and Christelle was so kind in sending multiple sets of photos a day, asking questions when necessary, and being very attentive and considerate. She took great care of our pack and we would definitely have her pup-sit again! She was very considerate of our home as well, and took great care of it while we were gone.”

“Terri was great. Biscuit and Bourbon loved her and it was a great relief to know that we finally have someone we can leave them with without worrying. I definitely plan to use Terri again in the future.”

“We can't thank Tracy enough for loving on our crew; even the moody cat. We feel great knowing she is here and that she loves our group like we do. She is also very aware of people who come over to work when I forget to let her know! We really appreciate that!”

“She is great my dogs loves her…She’s dedicated, compassion, Communication a plus….She played all the time with my dogs and they were so happy! I got home The house was clean everything was perfect*****”

About: I have been fostering animals for 4–5 years, caring for pets ranging from newborn kittens and puppies to senior animals. I am experienced in administering oral and topical medications, subcutaneous fluids, ear cleanings, and more. Animals have been a part of my life since day one, and I have a precious fur baby of my own. I know firsthand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your pets and someone they can feel safe and loved with too. I can’t wait to spend some time with your fur babies! I work full time from Tuesdays to Saturdays however I do dictate my own schedule and I am able to work my schedule out a bit. I usually go into work between 8-10am and leave between 4-6pm. Your home is your pet’s safe space, and I believe they are happiest in their own environment surrounded by familiar sights, smells, and comfort. I will come to you, so your pet never has to leave the place they love most. You can trust that your home and your fur baby will be treated with the utmost care and respect. My focus is entirely on keeping your pet comfortable, happy, and stress-free while you are away.

“Omgosh, the gratitude I feel for Shyann is almost overwhelming. We have a 13+ year old dog who is really starting to show his age (hearing/mind going and bowels are truly a "thing"). Shyann impressed me when I first started looking for a patient sitter who could deal with all of it and when I reached out, she was amazing! When we spoke and met the first time, I knew I found my boy's person. She is so gentle, kind and patient! She watched him for the first time (overnight at my place) and sent so many updates and pics and would say things like "he was such a good boy, only had one accident." It was so nice not to feel like a burden and she also said "he's a little old man, accidents happen." I already have her booked for two more sittings, but suffice to say, we have our dog sitter for the life of our little boy and I cannot recommend Shyann enough. If you need a true PET LOVER, she is a God-send! <3”

“I would highly recommend David. He stayed in my home and watched my two dogs for a long weekend. My skittish girl quickly warmed up to him. He went above and beyond to take care of my dogs and my home.”

About: I have grown up with dogs all my life. They have definitely been my absolute bestfriend ever since I can remember. Back in 2024 I worked for about a year at a dog boarding and daycare center, it just wasn’t the environment I preferred. I learned a lot as you could imagine. I have experience with giving medications (plus treats!), cleaning up messes comes with the territory, no stress! I also have experience with dogs more reactive than others, we still love them ! We can work together and talk about anything that’ll makes them and you most comfortable 🤗 I also have a family that I have house at for about 5 years now, she lives on a farm and owns quite a few German shepherds plus other furry friends. I love them all like family! I have also had others ask for me to come in periodically through the day to take care of necessities and make sure they get to stretch their legs on a nice walk if that’s what they prefer ¨̮ I love giving belly rubs as much as they like receiving them ! I want to meet your fur baby next, let’s see what joy I can bring to them while their favorites are away. I am pretty flexible with availability. I’m currently not working. I can do early mornings, I can do mid-days, and I can also do late nights. I currently am living in an apartment complex, but I can always come to your home to take care of your fur babies. For me personally, I have always seen that It helps with my dog if someone comes to her instead of bringing her someplace else. We love going on walks and I will make sure that your dogs are fed and taken care of.
About: I have been a dog lover and owner most of my life. I currently have a longhair dachshund named Ollie who does get along with other dogs. I’ve grown up around horses so I am comfortable with even the biggest of dogs. Im always up for an adventure through the woods or taking a walk along the water somewhere. Would love to meet and care for the four legged member of your family and provide the same love and attention to them as my own dog. I am available for: dog walking, dog sitting (your home or mine), dog visits and much more. I take great pride in how I interact with animals, I feel they listen better than most people I know haha. I do work full time, 8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday and live on the 3rd floor of a gated apartment complex in Fort Myers. I do work full time during the weekdays but I am available in the evenings and on weekends. I also live with my boyfriend and he is home usually before me during the week. I treat all animals with love and patience. Every dog is different and I take my time getting to know their personality and quirks so they feel safe around me.
“I highly recommend Kashmir! She took great care of our 3 kitties. She even took time to allow one of my cats to drink from the sink, since he's so picky about the water bowls. She was also great about keeping in touch and giving updates/pictures, which gave us a great peace of mind. I've already booked her for our next trip out of town!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was six years old, including puppies, kittens, large and small dogs, turtles, horses, and bunnies. I was a member of the agricultural club and am currently majoring in Animal Science in college. My lifelong passion for animals and hands on experience ensure that every pet I care for receives the attention, love, and responsibility they deserve. I am currently a full-time college student with a flexible schedule and plenty of free time, allowing me to pet sit wherever and whenever needed. When caring for pets, I always prioritize their comfort, safety, and routine. In my client’s home, I follow all care instructions closely feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special needs to make sure pets feel secure in their familiar environment. I keep their space clean and always treat their home with respect.
“Ashley was amazing and so wonderful with our dogs. We couldn't have found anyone better. She was very communicative and kept us informed when our senior dog was having issues. Through it all she was kind, patient and responsible. Ashley has our highest recommendations!”

We were so happy to have had Charles take care of our Finn. Finn is a ball of energy, and Charles was patient and attentive to his whims. Charles kept us in touch daily with pictures of their walks. We have already requested him for watch Finn on our next vacation.
Emily was a very good communicator, gave me updates often and lots of pictures. My dogs seem to love her, very respectful of property. Really sweet, and kind. Our trip was cut short and she was incredibly nice about it even requested a refund for the day she wasn’t needed even tho I told her it was ok. Would re book in the future 100%. Thank you so much for taking good care of my babies.

Shannon was wonderful with my dog, Finley!! She sent several pictures and videos throughout the day, which gave me peace of mind and reassured me that he was having a great time and was in excellent hands. I will definitely book with her again in the near future. You can tell she genuinely loves animals and treats them like her own. Highly recommend:)

Victoria is fabulous! Our english bulldog adored her time with her and my husband and I felt like we had to step up our game a bit after returning home! That’s how intentional she was with our sweet baby. I did not worry about her once and we have never left her longer than a couple days. It was a joy seeing all the photos and hearing about how the day went. Victoria follows through, she is kind and loving, and communicates so efficiently!!

Jess was a great sitter! She was on time, very responsive, and sent regular updates throughout the day, which I really appreciated. Communication was easy and I felt totally comfortable knowing my dog was in good hands and having an amazing time. Would absolutely book again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fort Myers walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fort Myers maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fort Myers choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
