“Shyann was amazing! She stayed at our house and sent us lots of daily photos and updates of our fur babies. I felt super comfortable being away. I would recommend Shyaan to anyone and feel relieved to have found her for any future trips I take!”

“Terri was so caring and loving with my Auggie! I’m so happy to find someone who I can trust to watch my boy when we’re gone! She is the best!!! Definitely 10 stars!!!”

“Emma is so wonderful with our pets and the most thoughtful. She always made sure to update us with photos and updates which we LOVED. She really cares. She also alerted us when our basement flooded so my father in law could come and take care of things. We trust her 100 percent and it gives a great peace of mind when you leave your pets.”

“Kashmir was great with our boys. I think they like her more than they like us🥴 She sent pictures to us during her stay with them. I appreciated that very much. I think she spoiled them so much during her stay they’re actually disappointed to have us back home😳😂 We will definitely ask Kashmir to watch our boys again. Thank you Kashmir!! From Charlie and Short Round”

About: I’ve been a pet owner for many years and understand how important it is to have someone you can trust caring for your pets when you’re away. I’ve also cared for my daughter’s pets and am comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, companionship, and following each pet’s normal routine. I’m patient, dependable, attentive, and will treat your pets with the same care and affection I give my own. I know every pet has their own personality, so I take the time to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while in my care. I work during the day Monday through Friday and am available for pet care in the late afternoons and evenings. I have more flexibility on weekends and holidays and am happy to work with your pet’s normal routine. I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and companionship while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are very important to me. I’ll carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, walks, routines, medications, and any special needs. When caring for pets in your home, I’ll treat both your pet and your home with respect. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

“My dogs loved Jenelle and so did we! We could tell from the interactions that they were in very capable and loving hands. Throughout the stay, Jenelle sent numerous photos (and texts) of her playing, exercising and cuddling with both Ivy and Harley We left detailed instructions for the care of our house and pets which she followed to our greatest satisfaction. Our house was spotless when we returned and both dogs were happy and content We have finally met a very responsible and affectionate young lady that we can entrust with the care of our home and pets to. We plan on hiring Jenelle in the future and highly recommend her services. When it comes to trusting the care of both home and pets to someone and having peace of mind in doing so, we have been truly blessed with Jenelle. 🙂”
“Elizabeth watched my Zoey over Christmas and did such a great job communicating and sending pictures every day. We did a meet and greet before our trip and was so happy that her sweet dog indie was a perfect play partner for Zoey and felt super comfortable having them play in the yard. She took Zoey for walks and play dates with her dog and Zoey was a happy pup! I recommend Elizabeth!”

“Kara was great with Mike & Gwladys, they were very well cared for. She was great at communicating and â good sport about Gwladys being a bit sassy. We would definitely use her again.”

About: My husband and I grew up loving dogs and, in fact, met through our pups. A real life case of puppy love! I grew up raising labs with my parents and through my work abroad have come to adopt two dogs of my own - Chance from Sudan and Mia from Colombia. My husband , David, studied veterinary medicine in Colombia where he has offers private dog training and runs a successful dog school (Gooddog Colegio Canino Campestre) for nearly 10 years. We hope to open a pet shop in MD soon. In the meantime, we hope to make more furry friends part of our extended family here and to save up for this dream to become a reality. When not focused on our dog business, we are proud parents to our own adopted pups and are always looking to take on more. In the near future we’ll also join Guiding Eyes and train dogs for the blind. We are true believers that pets are part of our families and look to take care of each clients’s pet as if they were our own. With us, you can rest assured that your pet is in good hands with a team that has extensive professional and medical experience working with dogs and, most importantly, is passionate about creating the perfect environment for humans and animals to interact. Let us share our love for animals with your family by becoming part of ours. A little about me personally: I’ve worked for the federal government nearly 15 years and take my responsibilities very seriously. I consider myself detail oriented but flexible. I will always do my best to go the extra mile and keep clients informed of everything through regular texts and photos. I’m also always looking to learn and welcome recommendations on how I can grow. Our home in Hyattsville has a fully fenced in backyard with a doggie door for easy access in and outside. We’re also surrounded by plenty of parks and green spaces and, on the weekends, love to explore new places with our pups and their stay-over friends! I have standard work hours during the week and great flexibility on the weekend. I’m on a hybrid telework schedule so the number of days I go into the office varies by week. I’m happy to try to rework my schedule to adapt to the needs of long term care or repeat clients. Our two pups are very easy going and have never had a problem with any other pets. They love the company and vice versa! Pets are able to roam the bottom floor of the house and fenced backyard freely. We also have crates of all sizes for those who prefer it.

Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog and animal lover ever since I can remember. Growing up in a farm in Cuba, I have always had a great facility for communicating with animals, and making them not only do things other people could not, but more importantly changing their outlook in life to make them happy. Meet my pets Our home is 2500+ sf with ample dog gates and crates for flexible configurations, so we are able to accommodate furry guests who prefer privacy or selected company. Small dogs are kept separate from bigger dogs, and our dog park/backyard is very secure and fenced in, with 6 foot wood fence all around. Double fence in one area, and cemented rock underneath for those Houdini diggers. We have a well trained pack of dogs that help us rehabilitate and correct dogs with any type of behavioral and psychological imbalances. About my yard We have a beautiful spacious dog park in our back yard. It is all enclosed with 6 foot tall wood fence. We have installed cemented rock underneath the fence so the dogs cannot dig out. The yard is about a third of an acre in space, and has many large trees and shady areas which the dogs love to explore. My experience administering medication We are very comfortable and have much experience administering medication and caring for injured and/or sick animals. There are 2 of us full time. Dogs is what we do. The dogs under our care are our first and last thought of the day. I have a fully enclosed yard to keep the dogs safe. We are professional responsible adults and the dogs are always supervised and never ever left alone in the house. Dogs is what we do! We do it All day; Every Day, 365 days per year. Dogs are our life; we are rescuers, trainers, behaviorists, psychologists, and we are also pet CPR/First Aid certified. We have a fully fenced in yard where the dogs can play. In addition, we are always here to supervise the dog on dog interactions. The dogs are never ever left alone in the house.
“I would highly recommend David. He stayed in my home and watched my two dogs for a long weekend. My skittish girl quickly warmed up to him. He went above and beyond to take care of my dogs and my home.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Palmona Park
She was a absolute gem. Professional, caring and loving to our dog Buddy. She kept in constant contact with us while we were away and returned any text or phone contact we made with her regarding Buddy. We had never used this program before and were very skeptical if the individuals working and reviewed were as accurate as portrayed. Abbie was beyond our expectation and the care she gave our dog was exemplary and receives our highest recommendation for others. Her care for our home for the period was good and we returned with no issues.

Lindsey did an amazing job caring for Rae and Austin over the holiday weekend. The pets were incredibly well cared for, the house was spotless when we returned, and she shared plenty of photos and updates throughout the stay which gave us great peace of mind. Coming home to such happy pets made all the difference. We truly appreciated her care, communication, and attention to detail, and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!

Jess was a great sitter! She was on time, very responsive, and sent regular updates throughout the day, which I really appreciated. Communication was easy and I felt totally comfortable knowing my dog was in good hands and having an amazing time. Would absolutely book again.

Ashley was amazing and so wonderful with our dogs. We couldn't have found anyone better. She was very communicative and kept us informed when our senior dog was having issues. Through it all she was kind, patient and responsible. Ashley has our highest recommendations!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Palmona Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Palmona Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Palmona Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Palmona Park. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
