“Mary was absolutely wonderful with my Ellie! Ellie is a handful and Mary was just so good with her! Sent me plenty of photo and text updates and made me feel so much more at ease. I will be using her in the future for sure!”

About: I have been fostering animals for 4–5 years, caring for pets ranging from newborn kittens and puppies to senior animals. I am experienced in administering oral and topical medications, subcutaneous fluids, ear cleanings, and more. Animals have been a part of my life since day one, and I have a precious fur baby of my own. I know firsthand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your pets and someone they can feel safe and loved with too. I can’t wait to spend some time with your fur babies! I work full time from Tuesdays to Saturdays however I do dictate my own schedule and I am able to work my schedule out a bit. I usually go into work between 8-10am and leave between 4-6pm. Your home is your pet’s safe space, and I believe they are happiest in their own environment surrounded by familiar sights, smells, and comfort. I will come to you, so your pet never has to leave the place they love most. You can trust that your home and your fur baby will be treated with the utmost care and respect. My focus is entirely on keeping your pet comfortable, happy, and stress-free while you are away.

“Emily was awesome she took care of my 3 pups for the weekend while I was attending a wedding out of town she took great care of them sending me updates and pictures I will definitely be using her service again in the future Thank you Emily”

“Terri was so caring and loving with my Auggie! I’m so happy to find someone who I can trust to watch my boy when we’re gone! She is the best!!! Definitely 10 stars!!!”

“Emily was amazing! She took care of our Bailey for two weeks. She’s attentive, caring and easy to work with. She followed all our instructions, kept up communications and daily pictures. She was responsible and respectful at our house but also gave our fur-baby attention, snuggles and diligently kept up with his special care, and daily walks. I strongly recommend her services and would be happy to hire her back.”

About: I volunteered with a puppy rescue for two years, which entailed taking care of dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds. My responsibilities included cleaning kennels, playing with pups, feeding pups, and occasionally medicating them. Dogs bring me so much happiness, so taking care of yours will be a joy! I am a recently graduated college student, so I have lots of time during the week to get out and about! I am an early riser, so mornings are not a problem for me. I can play with, feed, walk, or simply supervise pets in the client's home. I can also bring pets to my own home, which has lots of living room space and a good neighborhood to walk in.
About: I have been caring for pets of family and friends since childhood, and over time it naturally became a passion. I have experience with cats, large and small dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, and currently I have a rabbit of my own. I am also an exotic pet lover. I have always researched and studied a lot about animal care and health, I like to go beyond the basics to make sure I can provide the best care for my pets. One of my biggest challenges (and achievements) was training my rabbit at home <3 I have always been very attentive with my pets’ health, I even had a personal veterinarian for all of them, including routine check-ups for my hamster haha. For me it is really easy to have a connection with animals and quickly build trust with them, which helps me understand their needs and behaviors. I truly hope to become a veterinarian in the future and continue dedicating my life to animal care. I believe that any living being that is dependent and innocent deserves the highest level of care, love, and protection possible. I currently work part-time, but due to the low season I have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care. I’m able to adapt easily to each pet’s needs and provide consistent, loving care throughout the day. I live in a gated community, in a apartment with a lot of space. The condominium offers a dedicated dog park with a fenced area where dogs can safely run and play, as well as walking trails for daily exercise. If needed, I can also share photos of the environment so you can feel fully confident and comfortable about where your pet will be staying <3

“I highly recommend Kashmir! She took great care of our 3 kitties. She even took time to allow one of my cats to drink from the sink, since he's so picky about the water bowls. She was also great about keeping in touch and giving updates/pictures, which gave us a great peace of mind. I've already booked her for our next trip out of town!”

“Juliette was great! She took great care of my 3 dogs, and my house also looked great! She kept in touch with us while we were away and sent us updates every day! I hope to use her again in July.”

“Luis was great! She kept my girl company all week and made sure she was well taken care of. Also very respectful of my house and space. Easy to communicate with. Looking forward to booking him again for future trips!”

“Laci does a great job taking care of our fur babies and watching our house while we’re away! She’s great at sending pictures daily and keeping the house picked up! We will definitely contact her again!”

About: Hi, I’m Jess. While I might be new to the Rover platform, I am definitely not new to pets. I’ve had at least one furry shadow following me around since I was five years old. Over the decades, I’ve shared my life with an incredible mix of personalities—from the determined nose of a Beagle and the brilliant energy of an Australian Shepherd, to the sweet fluff of three different Doodles, the independent charm of an orange tabby, and the big, goofy heart of a Pitbull. Tailored Care: Whether they thrive on structural routine or just want to lounge on a cozy rug and get belly rubs, I adapt to their comfort level. Experience with All Sizes & Vibes: From high-energy herding groups to big, sweet couch-potato protectors, I speak their language. Because my professional schedule is highly flexible and independent, I am able to truly dedicate my days to your pets. I have a quiet personal life with no kids at home, which allows me to focus 100% on keeping your household running smoothly and your pets feeling loved, safe, and spoiled. I can’t wait to give your furry family members the "BFF treatment" in the comfort of their own space! Inviting someone into your home requires immense trust. Because I am an established professional who manages a business and maintains a home of my own, I treat your property and your pets with the highest level of respect, vigilance, and care. 🔒 Elite Safety & Pet Security The "Double-Check" Habit: I am hyper-aware of open doors, loose gate latches, and front entryways. I always ensure doors are securely locked and alarms are set exactly to your specifications whenever I step in or out. Walk Safety: When we are out for exercise, your dog is my sole focus. I don’t look at my phone, I keep a firm grip on the leash, and I never allow stranger-to-dog introductions on the street—preventing unpredictable situations before they can even start. Forager Awareness: Having raised various breeds (including a hound with a nose for trouble!), I know dogs love to find things they shouldn't. I keep counters completely clear, hazardous foods put away, and trash bins tightly secured.
About: I’ve been pet sitting for more than 25 years. I have lived in the Fort Myers area my entire life and have many local clients. I am fortunate to enjoy spending time with many families and their animals. I enjoy dogs of all sizes, and have cared for small dogs - Dachshunds, Shih Tzus, all the way up to English Labs and Great Danes. I have a wealth of experience with doodles and have come to really appreciate the sweet, loyal nature of these babies with huge personalities! I’ve watched many breeds of dogs, as well as cats and other household animals! The animals I spend time with are some of my best friends and I always enjoy getting to know new friends. My full-time job allows me to work from home. Because of this, I am able to spend many hours with your pet during the day. Many of my clients observe that while they are away from home, their animals benefit from more time with me than they themselves are normally able to provide. I am able to be fairly flexible with my work day and adapt to your pet’s needs. I offer pet sitting in your home. This gives your pets the best opportunity to feel a sense of security and comfort in their own environment and helps you to be confident knowing that your animal is in a comfortable environment. I send photos of your pets and provide regular updates as to their health and wellness.
About: I have had animals specifically dogs, my whole entire life. I’ve had Golden retrievers, boxers, and I currently have an Australian Shepherd that is three years old. I’ve had many years of experience going to peoples homes and pet sitting both dogs and cats. I’m safe, reliable and very attentive and I will make sure that your animals are in the best hands. I will care for you pets as they were my very own. I currently work full time and have the ability to work from home so that I can always be around your animals and let them out as frequently as needed. I have a fenced in backyard where I love to throw a ball to get all of that energy out. I normally take dogs out for walks as well. If I’m house sitting at someone’s house, I stay the night and do as requested. Normally, my clients write down a list of whatever they want/need me to do and I follow it. I’m very flexible and want to keep your pet safe in a stress free environment.
“Sereniti was amazing taking care of my dog during a 3 night stay, and I could tell she was treated like family. I got updates and pictures that showed Diamond happy, relaxed, and having fun. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was in such loving hands. I’ll definitely be booking with her again next time I travel! Thanks again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Tice on Rover is $32.7 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 1,024 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tice. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tice walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tice maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tice choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tice. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
