“Wow, where to start. Me and my girlfriend had a last minute or of town trip and decided to take a chance on Rover and found Jennifer. We were both nervous as we could be leaving our dogs for the very first time. Jennifer offered a meet and greet and both of our dogs LOVED her (even our cautious Pitbull). She was on time, sent a many pictures and videos while we were gone, communicated well and followed all instructions we gave her. Our home was just as we left it when we got home. Jennifer is so awesome. If you’re looking for a WONDERFUL dogsitter, look no further.”

About: Hi, I am Haleigh and am currently 25 years old. I have been around dogs my whole life and currently even have three of my own! I am able to care for dogs of all breeds/sizes and would love to keep them active or just hang out with them around the house. I am very familiar with training and good behavior so I may also help with obedience and if things ever get messy, am completely comfortable cleaning up around the house. I do have a part time job but am looking to earn some extra income to help with wedding funds! If you are interested or have any questions, message me and I would be happy to answer them! :) I work full time but as a server at a restaurant so my schedule varies. I have plenty of down time day or night to fit pet sitting/walking into my schedule! I have a yard and a friendly pup of my own to keep yours company! I can easily crate your dog/mine if needed to create the best environment possible
“Barry was amazing and we will absolutely be booking him again. He came prepared, sent lots of pics and even watched dog tv all day just to amuse our girl. The house was clean, our dog was happy and we could tell she really loved him. He may be pricier but the satisfaction is worth it. 100/10 recommend!!”

“Taylor was great watching over our dog Calvin. She sent plenty of pictures and updates while we were away. I would definitely recommend her to anyone that needs a dog sitter, and we hope to use her again in the future.”
About: I have taken care of/walked dogs since I was 7. I’ve grown up with dogs and have never lived without one in my home. Many neighbors and friends trust me with their pets to either walk or care for them from either a day at a time or weeks. During the week I have sports and school but weekends are reserved to make sure the care of your pet(s) is received properly and carefully I am more than happy to play with any pet to ensure he/she is happy and healthy while I care for them. If you have special requests, I can make it a priority to fulfill them.
“Karissa did a fantastic job. She took great care of my two dogs. Her communication was stellar! I got pictures and updates a few times per day. She was very punctual and kept them in their normal routine. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing their dogs cared for while you are out of town. Or just want someone to drop in on them while you are at work.”

“Jennifer is amazing! Our dog had lots of walks and play activity. Jennifer sent photos of our very happy dog. She took great care of our girl and our home - above and beyond. Thanks so much!”

About: I'm a fun loving sitter who loves animals of all kinds. I can accommodate pretty much all dogs and cats. I will care for your pet like I would mine. I am currently home all day. I let the dogs out in the backyard every 2 hours. I have a large fenced in backyard where the dogs can play and go to the bathroom. I take special care of animals. I have lots of experience with caring for all types of dogs and pets. Your pet will be free to be a part of our home. They can be in a crate or out of a crate. I have locked gates in the backyard so no intruders or gates left open. I also have a screened in front porch so there is no possibility of the dogs getting loose.
“Abbie was great! My high energy dog was so tired when we got home from our trip. That is definitely an accomplishment! The updates are plenty & always appreciated! Definitely our go to sitter.”

“Thanks so much Kennedy! Lily and I are very happy with the great care, daily text messages and multiple dog walks/rides you provided. I could tell Lily was unstressed and happy with you. Thanks and I will reach out to you again! Shelly”

About: I’ve owned and cared for dogs my entire life and have been trusted by friends, family, and neighbors for 10–15 years to care for their pets in both short- and long-term situations. In my home, I maintain a structured, calm environment with consistent routines for feeding, exercise, and supervision. I currently have two well-trained, fully vaccinated dogs (a Goldendoodle and a Bernedoodle) who are very social and used to interacting with other dogs. I’m comfortable managing multiple dogs, understanding behavior, and ensuring a safe, low-stress environment. As a military veteran, I approach pet care professionally—with clear expectations, strong communication, and a focus on safety for all animals in my home. I maintain a flexible schedule and am home frequently throughout the day, which allows for consistent supervision and care. I structure my day around the dogs in my home and can accommodate established feeding, walking, and rest routines as long as they are clearly outlined in advance. My goal is to keep your dog on a schedule they are already comfortable with, while maintaining a calm, structured environment. I limit the number of dogs I take at one time to ensure each dog receives proper attention and consistency. My home is a safe, structured environment with two well-trained, fully vaccinated dogs (a Goldendoodle and a Bernedoodle) who are very social and accustomed to interacting with other dogs. I follow each owner’s instructions closely and will make every effort to maintain your dog’s normal feeding, walking, and daily routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. For safety, I only accept dogs that are friendly, non-aggressive, and comfortable around other dogs. Dogs are supervised, and crating can be accommodated if your dog is crate-trained. I prioritize clear communication so you always know how your dog is doing.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cape Coral
I had an excellent experience with this dog and house sitter! From the beginning, Jena were professional, reliable, and genuinely caring. My dogs were happy, and clearly received lots of love and attention while I was away. Jena kept me updated with regular messages and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind. When I returned home, my house was spotless and exactly as I had left it. It was obvious she treated both my pets and my home with great respect and care. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, dependable, and compassionate pet and house sitter. I will definitely be booking again!

Andrea was absolutely amazing with our two dogs! She kept us updated every day with pictures and messages, which meant so much to us while we were away. Our boys loved her, and she took such great care of both them and our home. We will definitely be using her again. We highly, highly recommend!

Miranda was awesome! She watched my large, sometimes reactive, pup for a long weekend at my home. She took her on walks, played with her, brushed her hair/teeth, and kept up with her supplements and snacks. She made me feel very comfortable while I was away! Luna seemed well taken care of and happy when I got back.

Heather was amazing taking care of our sweet boy, Blue! She stayed at our place during our wedding weekend and amidst all the business both my husband and I had that weekend, we managed to feel relaxed and at ease knowing Heather was there. She sent daily pictures and updates and Blue looked like he was having a blast. She left the place spotless and even cleaned washed the bedding! We will definitely be using her again

Sam was GREAT! We have 2 German Shepherds and a cat. She house sat for us. Spend a good amount of time with our babies. Sent photos every day. We have a surveillance system and noticed the time spent. Cleaned the catbox. House was very clean when coming home. We would definitely use again and recommend to you and our friends.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Cape Coral on Rover is $59.94 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cape Coral walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cape Coral maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cape Coral choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cape Coral. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
