“Samantha did drop in visits for our dog Cooper. She was great with him and we got photos and updates the whole time. I would definitely have her watch him again!”

About: I’ve taken great care of animals my whole life from as small as hamsters to as big as horses! I love dog sitting for friends and family! I’m a full time server/bartender, however on the days I have off I love to stay busy so with my free time I would love to hang out with some furry friends:) I have a safe neighborhood to walk your furry friends as well as I love going to the dog parks and I have a ton of friends with dogs who would love to meet new friends.
“Tim does a wonderful job with our elderly boxer who needs a little extra caring. He always comes as scheduled and follows up promptly with pictures and his report. We highly recommend him.”

“Erica took great care of our pups and our cat, making sure to update us on them each time she visited. She knew my main concerns (making sure they got enough food), and made sure to give a specific update on that each feeding time. We will definitely book with her again.”

“Natasha and Gaspare were excellent! Offered to take my trash out to curb and bring in my mail when my flight plans changed. All the pet’s dishes were washed. Everything left in order. A definite rehire!”

About: Hi! My love and adoration of fur babies goes as far back as I can remember. I grew up with a Saint Bernard, Black Labs, cats and hamsters. Once I became an adult and bought a house of my own, I rescued a black lab/German Shephard mix named Alex. He became the love of my son's life and a best friend to all of us. I also rescued a cat named Midnight, who thought himself more dog than cat and was loved far more than he chose to be at times. I have also owned, loved and cared for bunnies, guinea pigs, ferrets, and a rat. Upon moving to Florida, I got a chihuahua named Champ who took to my black lab mix, Alex, immediately and developed a personality much like a lab and less a Chihuahua. Sadly, Alex passed several years ago and so Champ became my constant companion. He developed diabetes and a heart murmur which required insulin injections twice a day as well as heart meds. I know how to administer shots and give medication if your fur baby requires either of those things in your absence. I lost Champ a few years ago and I decided at that time that the heart break was too deep and I am not yet ready to get another dog. However, it occurred to me that I could use the love that I have for animals and spread it to other peoples cherished pets when they are not able to be home. I guarantee, if given the chance, that I will love and care for your pet as if it were my own. I understand all to well, what a pet means to his/her human! I am an elementary teacher. I work full time August-May. My work hours are 7:00AM- 4:00PM. I am off on the weekends. During the school year, I am able to do drop in visits in the morning before my work day begins and afternoons/evenings. Summers and weekends, I am flexible. I live in a condo which only allows for 1 pet, 20 pounds or less. I am willing to care for a pet in my home while you are away but obviously must be under 20 pounds. I am happy to drop in on your furry friends to let them outside, walks, cuddles, love, playtime, feedings, medication etc. I am also willing to stay at your home, with your pets, while you are away, if that is a service that you would prefer.
“Ashley was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable leaving my cats at home and that my cats were comfortable. Ashely provided me updates and even left a ring doorbell message to ensure I was kept up to date. I will definitely be using Ashely for all future pet sitting needs!”

About: I grew up with two cats and have spent many weekends dog-sitting for friends and neighbors! I also have some experience caring for birds. I can’t have your lovely pups at my place, but I’m happy to come to you, where they can stay cozy in their own home! Custom meals, special routines, and long walks are no issue either. :) I work part-time, so I have plenty of time to play with your pups or care for your kitties! I can’t do boarding (no pets allowed 🥲), but I’m happy to come to you. I’ve found that most pets feel most comfortable in their own home! I work 8:30am–4:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, but I’m available anytime on the other days. Walks and snuggle time are my favorite, but I’m always up for a game of fetch, tug-of-war, Frisbee, or whatever your playful pup enjoys! :) Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities! I’ll follow your instructions and routines carefully, give your pet plenty of patience and attention, and make sure they’re comfortable and cared for in their own home. I’ll also treat your home with the same respect I would my own and I’m happy to send updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away!
About: I am fun and energetic who loves to be around dogs. I have had many dog over the last 20 years. I grew up with cats and love the little fluffies as well. I have watched friend's dogs when they have gone out of town. I have some experience with obedience training and agility with multiple dogs over the years. I love to make a dog's day happier and get all the love they can. I am with my dog majority of the day and love to play ball with her in the yard. I also take her to a full day of daycare a couple times a month so she can get out her extra energy and socialize with many other dogs. I like to include enrichment toys for an extra form of play that helps with their cognitive abilities.

Jena was very kind and personable from the beginning and both of my animals are clearly comfortable with her! She provided photos while I was away and made me feel very comfortable and happy. She also went above and beyond and brought up our trash bins from the road and brought in packages each time she came! Definitely will book with Jena again.

Once again we had Derek take care of our dogs. He did numerous drop in visits for several days. He was great with the dogs the communication was excellent. Feeding the dogs went great. He even took out my garbage to the curb on pickup day. We highly recommend Derek to take care of anyone’s pets.

Jennifer did an amazing job. I am so grateful to her for taking such good care of my dogs while I had to travel. She was on time, and spent time walking with the dogs and playing with them, not just the "basics". I highly recommend her and hope she'll be available the next time I need help with pet care for my dogs. : )

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
