About: I am a kind-hearted, energetic, and dependable animal lover with a lifetime of experience caring for pets. I have owned dogs since I was born and grew up with a family cat, giving me experience caring for both dogs and cats. I understand that every pet has their own unique personality, routine, and needs, and I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and EXXXTRA loved while you're away! I’m currently taking some time off before beginning a new job in mid-September, so I have full availability to give your furry friend the time, love, and attention they deserve. In my free time, I also volunteer at a local animal shelter because I truly love being around animals and caring for pets of all ages and personalities. 3-year experienced Physical Therapist taking time off before beginning a new position mid-September, giving me a very flexible schedule and full availability to care for your pet. Whether it's drop-in visits, walks, or overnight stays, I have plenty of time to provide the attention and love they deserve. Once I begin my new role, I'll still be available all-day Saturdays through Mondays, making long weekends a great time to book with me! I primarily provide care in clients' homes, where your pet or pets are most comfortable in their familiar environment! I will happily take the time to learn your pet's routine and follow it closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication schedule, while providing plenty of love and attention. My goal is to keep your pet/s happy, comfortable, and stress-free while you're away. I'll also keep you updated with way too many photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry friend is in great hands!
“Robin definitely lived up to her reviews! She was staying with my little dog and 2 bunnies for the whole weekend. She did an amazing job, I did not need to worry about anything. My dog is usually very shy, and it takes him days to warm up to someone new, but with Robin it happened super fast and already within 15 minutes he was nudging her hand asking to pet him! Robin’s calm presence, attention to detail and obvious love for animals made her the best choice - I knew my pets were in good hands. ? Thank you, Robin! ?”

“Özlem did us a huge favor after we had someone cancel to watch little Koopa. They had a blast and he loved having her over and taking care of him! Thank you for sharing pictures and your time with our Koopa. We so appreciate you! Will definitely book with Özlem again!”

“Marianne is Wonderful! She cares for and treats our fur babies as if her own. I can tell just by the way they interact with her that they’re 100% comfortable! I feel totally at ease while away! Thank you Marianne!”

“Dawn is the best! I have used her several times and will continue to do so. She is responsive, professional and dependable. She has a great attitude and sends pics of the pets. I can totally trust her.”

“Michele is 5 stars. Caring, reliable and sincere. Communication was excellent and she ensured that our elderly pup's needs were taken care of. So happy to know we are safe leaving our Toby in her care. Thanks again!”

“Joel did a great job looking over Stitch and Meeko for my weekend trip. Joel house sat for me, staying over and keeping my boys company. Joel came over a couple of times before my trip, making sure he knew where everything was. During the trip he gave me updates, sent me photo's and I felt very happy he was looking after them. Definitely recommend Joel for anyone looking for someone to trust their furbabies with.”

“Marissa is such a wonderful caring person and was so good with communication and staying on top of my dog’s eating habits and cleanliness while I was away. She saved me when I had a last minute cancellation of a live in sitter and stayed with my dog every night. My house was taken care of as well. Highly recommend Marissa!! She will be my go to from now on.”

“Catherine did an amazing job cat sitting my fur baby, I always get anxious leaving her but I know she was in great hands so I could be at ease. Catherine has really kind, warm energy, and a big heart. She sent lots of photos and updates, took great care of our home too. I will definitely rebook her in the future for when we travel. Thank you Catherine!”

“Kimmeth did an amazing job watching our two dogs while we are on vacation for a week. She stayed in our home and was very detailed in following "instructions" and sending daily updates and photos. Our two little dogs seemed very happy and content when we returned. I highly recommend Kimmeth!”

About: I am a lifelong animal lover who understands that pets are family. Over the years, I've cared for my own dogs, fostered rescued dogs while they waited for their forever homes, and helped family and friends care for their pets. Every animal deserves patience, kindness, and individualized attention, and that's exactly what I provide. Fostering rescue dogs taught me how to work with pets of different ages, personalities, and backgrounds. Some needed extra patience while adjusting to a new environment, others needed help building confidence, and many simply wanted affection and consistency. That experience has made me a calm, observant, and compassionate caregiver. Whether you're away for work, traveling, or just need an extra hand, I'll make sure your pet receives the same love and attention they receive at home. I take the time to learn your pet's routine, favorite activities, feeding schedule, medications (if needed), and any special preferences so they stay comfortable and happy while you're away. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide walks, drop-in visits, playtime, feeding, and plenty of one-on-one attention throughout the day. I work part time from home. What your pet can expect -Lots of love, attention, and one-on-one care -Happy to cuddle with the dog who just wants to curl up beside me—or head out for long walks and adventures with the energetic pup who loves to explore and socialize -Playtime, enrichment, belly rubs, and plenty of affection -Care that follows your pet's normal routine, including meals, medications, and any special instructions -Photo and video updates so you can see how much fun your pet is having =A dependable sitter who will treat your furry family member as if they were my own
“Nicky was the most professional person. Arriving a few minutes early to ensure he got everything he needed done prior to arriving (securing parking, front desk reception etc.). Asked thoughtful questions about the care of our dog. Checked in throughout the day, and ensured our dog was walked throughout the day. Our dog LOVED him And even gave him her paw (which she only does when she is comfortable). You could tell he truly cares about dogs/animals. Anytime Nicky is free we’d love for him to sit our dog Bagheera any day. Could not ask for a better sitter.”

About: Hi! I’m Mia, and I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I grew up with a Boxer of my own, which made me comfortable caring for larger, playful, and energetic dogs. For the past six years, I have also helped care for my aunt’s two dogs, a Yorkie and a mixed breed rescue. I also have experience pet sitting Chihuahuas and dogs of other breeds, sizes, and personalities. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs, whether that means going on walks, playing, cuddling, or simply keeping them company. I know every dog has their own personality and routine, so I will always listen carefully to your instructions and make sure their individual needs are met. When your dog is in my care, I will treat them with the same love, patience, attention, and responsibility that I would give my own pet. I know how stressful it can be to leave your dog with someone else, so I will also keep you updated with photos and messages to help you feel comfortable while you are away. My goal is for your dog to feel safe, happy, and loved and for you to have peace of mind knowing they are in caring hands. I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available for weekday and weekend bookings, including walks, drop-in visits, daytime care, and overnight stays. I may also be able to accommodate last-minute requests. I keep my Rover calendar updated and only accept bookings that I can fully commit to. For drop-in visits, walks, daytime care, and overnight stays, I will follow your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible. Before each booking, I will make sure I understand their feeding schedule, walking habits, energy level, behavior, and any important house rules. During walks, I will keep your dog securely leashed and check that their collar or harness fits properly. In your home, I will keep doors and gates closed, supervise your dog carefully, and never introduce them to unfamiliar animals without your permission. I will send regular photos and updates, let you know how your dog is eating and behaving, and contact you immediately if I notice anything unusual. I will also treat your home respectfully and leave everything secure and tidy when I leave.

“Katelyn was great! I had a long list of details for my dog and Katelyn accommodated everything and was able to work with her when she was a little nervous and barking. She was very communicative and sent me a ton of pictures and updates. Would definitely have her watch Rue again and would recommend to anyone that needed a dog sitter!”

“Nicole has been amazing since getting our new puppy Bailey. We first used her services for house drop ins, and recently had to take an emergency family trip for 3 days which we booked Nicole to house sit. It is always nerve-wracking to leave a pet let alone let alone a puppy at 5-6 months, but we knew from how Bailey has enjoyed her house visits Nicole would be the best fit. Nicole was communicative the whole time and sent lots of cute pictures of Bailey and it made us happy to see how happy Bailey was! Thank you Nicole - 10/10 recommend and will absolutely book again!”

About: Have grown up with dogs my entire life and absolutely love them! Even though I have always been a dog person, I now currently have two kitties. Love all creatures and their unique personalities. Also have experience with rescue dogs, dogs with behavioral issues, and dogs with medical issues that require special assistance. Currently, I work remotely from my home and am somewhat flexible. I am able to pop out in the day to complete a visit if necessary. I live in an apartment, so may not be ideal for larger dogs. I do have a grassy area outside and my building is very pet friendly.
About: For over 10 years, I've cared for dogs of all kinds for friends and family. I've provided walks, feeding, playtime, house sitting, and in home boarding. Pets always receive dependable loving attention. Since I work from home full time, pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine. My flexible schedule allows me to provide consistent attention, timely walks, and drop-ins throughout the day. I can also work on the go, making it relatively easy to adapt to each pet's needs and routine. In my home, I provide a safe and comfortable environment that’s perfect for small to medium-sized dogs. Since I work from home, I’m able to spend the whole day with them, making sure they get plenty of walks, playtime, and attention. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their space with the same respect I would my own while keeping pets happy, healthy, and comfortable. My goal is always to make sure your loved one enjoys the best pup-cation possible!
“Stella did a great job watching our dog for us in our house while we went out of town. Our dog has separation anxiety and so we always look for a sitter who is willing to stay home with him. Stella followed through on her word and that gave us peace of mind while we traveled. We would recommend and book Stella again.”

Hali was absolutely amazing! She was available on short notice and took such great care of our dog while we were away. She sent us lots of pictures and even shared their walking routes, which gave us so much peace of mind. She also went above and beyond by cleaning up the apartment and doing the laundry before leaving. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. We highly recommend Hali and will definitely be using her again! 🐾🩷

Katelyn was great! I had a long list of details for my dog and Katelyn accommodated everything and was able to work with her when she was a little nervous and barking. She was very communicative and sent me a ton of pictures and updates. Would definitely have her watch Rue again and would recommend to anyone that needed a dog sitter!

Michele stayed over with our dog Connie and she was wonderful, confident, communicative, and quick to respond to every message. She truly cared about Connie, and we couldn't have been happier. Highly recommend her for house sitting, I would absolutely book her again!

Mei was amazing with our dog, Arya! She was available on short notice, kept us updated with lots of photos and messages, and even took Arya on the sweetest beach sunset outing. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Arya was having such a great time while we were away. We would absolutely book with Mei again and highly recommend her!

Kelly was great! 😊 She stayed at our apartment while caring for our two girls, and everything went smoothly. The girls were happy, well cared for, and comfortable when we got back. She kept us updated, was easy to communicate with, and took great care of both the pups and our home. We would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter! 🐾💕

Highly recommend! Ozlem did a great job caring for our senior dog, who can be challenging at times and has a fairly specific routine. She was responsible, responsive, and communicative throughout the stay. She made sure he received all of his medications and was very understanding of the setup and accommodations we have in place for him. It gave us peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. We would absolutely book with her again.

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Lili absolutely adored him. Every time he was around, she wanted to play with him and barely paid any attention to us, which says everything about how comfortable and happy she felt in his care. He was incredibly responsive and kept us updated throughout our time away with messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. It was very obvious that he genuinely loves dogs and knows how to connect with them. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book him again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and reliable to watch their dog!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Fort Lauderdale on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 4,474 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fort Lauderdale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fort Lauderdale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fort Lauderdale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fort Lauderdale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fort Lauderdale. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
