About: I am a dog mom to a 6 year old goldendoodle and have had cats & dogs my whole life. I love to care and nurture animals as they are such precious beings. I've dealt with all breeds, ages, and sizes of dogs with different treatment protocols. I pay very close attention to detail and will provide the same care you provide because I know how important it is. I truly love nurturing and find it my calling! I am transitioning out of corporate life as a marketing director and am wanting to do this full time as this is makes me more happy in this season of life :) With that being said, I am free everyday to care for your pets! At home my dog is fully trained and has fully capacity to roam the house. I also care for animals that need to be crated, limited by space, and more. I am willing to always abide by the rules that are set with each family. Every pet has their own way of life.
“Robin is a lovely person! She is very thorough - asked me about medications, restrictions, food etc for my dog. Robin arrived on time and my anxious pup was immediately at ease with her. I would highly recommend Robin to take care of your pet!”

“Katelyn was great! I had a long list of details for my dog and Katelyn accommodated everything and was able to work with her when she was a little nervous and barking. She was very communicative and sent me a ton of pictures and updates. Would definitely have her watch Rue again and would recommend to anyone that needed a dog sitter!”

“Sara took the very best care of our little tripod Nina - almost don't want to say how great she is cause we want to keep her for ourselves lol. Highly recommend (but not when we need her ;)”

“We were really grateful that Sean was available to dog sit on such short notice. My husband and I planned a short weekend away last minute and needed a dog and house sitter. Sean provided excellent care for both our dog and house. He was trust worthy, friendly, and gentle. We came home with the house as clean as we left it and our dog Theo looked well fed, exercised, and happy. Sean was really good about texting and taking our calls to check on Theo. We recommend him 100% for either/both dog and house sitting.”

“I am so grateful to have found such a wonderful dog sitter! My puppy is like my baby, so finding someone I could trust was very important to me. From the moment they met, my pup felt comfortable and even gives her kisses—which says a lot! I feel completely at ease knowing he’s in safe, loving hands. She provides the best quality of care, always sends me pictures, and responds quickly to any messages. I couldn’t ask for more!”

“My pup Ted couldn't have had a better time hanging with Maddie. We can't recommend her enough! Trusting, reliable, and so caring of our Ted. You can tell Maddie absolutely loves animals. Highly recommend!!”

“Dawn has stayed in our home to watch our two kitties multiple times in the past, and did an amazing job. This last trip she watched our dog, Baloo, as well and she was fabulous as always! The care and consideration she’s gives for our animals, and home, I truly amazing. And it makes going away much less stressful.”

“Its my first time using Rover and Reebah, and it was a great experience. Her communication gets +5 stars. She kept me informed, asked questions when there was doubt, and sent me pictures with updates. I definitely recommend her.”

“Amanda is awesome… We were nervous about having a stranger watch our Stella girl. But we found out almost immediately that we had picked the right sitter. We will definitely use her again.”

About: Hi! I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone you can trust. I’m committed to following your pet’s normal routine, providing plenty of attention and exercise, and making sure they feel comfortable and secure in my care. I’ll take the time to accommodate individual needs and routines. All the little details are important to me, I’ll keep you updated with photos & messages so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands! My priority will always be to treat your pet like family and give them the same love, patience and attention I would want and give my own. I’d love the opportunity to meet your pet :) I currently work some part time shifts, but Im primarily a stay at home dog mom🥰, which gives me plenty of flexibility to give your pets the attention, care, and companionship they deserve. I’m happy to work with your schedule and will do my best to accommodate your pet’s needs! I live in a safe, pet friendly apartment community with a dog park, and my 1 yr old toy poodle Stella, is very friendly and loves to play with other dogs. If your pup is comfortable around other dogs, they’ll have a little playmate during their stay! And if you prefer care in your home or need pet walking, I’m happy to adjust to your pet’s environment and routine and make them feel as comfortable as possible.
“Maura was so kind and sweet with my babies. Zeus, khaleesi and myself all loved her!!!! She was fantastic & def will call her again. Thank you Maura so much!!!!”

“I only needed a sitter for one night, but I was so happy with how Tazzy was when I got home! Tazzy is an anxious pup and can be a little particular about new people and changes to his routine, so I’m always a little nervous leaving him with someone new. When I came home, though, he was completely himself—happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. You could definitely tell he got plenty of attention and cuddles while I was gone. 🥰 Everything at home was just as I left it, communication was great, and most importantly, I came home to a happy Tazzy. That’s really the best review I can give a sitter! I would absolutely feel comfortable having her watch him again.”

About: From an early age I began petsitting a variety of dogs in my neighborhood, family, and of friends. From Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Jack Russells, Dachshunds, Beagles, Hounds, Dobermanns, and more I have experience with a range of breeds. I often used to petsit for my neighbors who had five dogs. I also have owned a Rottweiler, Rhodesian Ridgeback and Bichon Frisé. I have always regarded having a connection with animals as an important quality and have never met an animal that didn’t like me! I recently left my position at Florida International University College of Hospitality and I want to lend my services in pet care to my community. I am available fulltime and I am able to provide transparent communication throughout the week. I want to ensure you that your pet is getting the best care possible and you can focus on work, vacation, or whatever reason my services are required. Able to provide frequent walks and top quality care. I don’t have pets of my own and I prefer to house sit but I am able to accommodate boarding at my apartment if preferred with regular walks.

Brunna was amazing. Brunna house sat for me while I was out of town for the Labor Day weekend and did an amazing job looking after Meeko and Stitch. Brunna came over to meet my babies and give her a walk through of my apartment a couple days I went out of town. It was immediately clear her kindness and sweetness was recognized immediately by my boys and they loved her as soon as she came into the apartment. While I was out of town Brunna shared updates with me and took the cutest photos of them. I cant wait for my next trip to ask Brunna to watch over the boys again.

Hali was absolutely amazing! She was available on short notice and took such great care of our dog while we were away. She sent us lots of pictures and even shared their walking routes, which gave us so much peace of mind. She also went above and beyond by cleaning up the apartment and doing the laundry before leaving. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. We highly recommend Hali and will definitely be using her again! 🐾🩷

Michele stayed over with our dog Connie and she was wonderful, confident, communicative, and quick to respond to every message. She truly cared about Connie, and we couldn't have been happier. Highly recommend her for house sitting, I would absolutely book her again!

Mei was amazing with our dog, Arya! She was available on short notice, kept us updated with lots of photos and messages, and even took Arya on the sweetest beach sunset outing. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Arya was having such a great time while we were away. We would absolutely book with Mei again and highly recommend her!

Kelly was great! 😊 She stayed at our apartment while caring for our two girls, and everything went smoothly. The girls were happy, well cared for, and comfortable when we got back. She kept us updated, was easy to communicate with, and took great care of both the pups and our home. We would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter! 🐾💕

Highly recommend! Ozlem did a great job caring for our senior dog, who can be challenging at times and has a fairly specific routine. She was responsible, responsive, and communicative throughout the stay. She made sure he received all of his medications and was very understanding of the setup and accommodations we have in place for him. It gave us peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. We would absolutely book with her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Fort Lauderdale on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 4,542 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fort Lauderdale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fort Lauderdale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fort Lauderdale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fort Lauderdale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
