“Marissa took wonderful care of our house and three dogs. The house was clean when we returned, communication was great throughout the stay, and it was obvious our dogs were well cared for and loved on while we were away. We came home to happy pups and total peace of mind. I have already booked her again!”

“Thanks again for taking care of my babies while I was gone! I trust you completely, and it’s such a great feeling knowing I don’t have to worry when they’re with you. You’re amazing — such a good soul and beautiful inside and out. ❤️”

“Christina is an excellent dog sitter. Our 13 year old small dog took to her immedialtly and she stayed with her for 4 days making for a happy dog and very pleased dog parents. Christina stayed at our home and took excellent care of both house and dog.”

“Sean was great. My girl exhibits fear aggression towards other dogs and Sean was able to easily work with her. Not only work with her but they had a great time! He updated me frequently and made me feel at ease while being 3,000 miles away. He also took care of my skink and aged rat. Awesome dog/skink/rat sitter!”

“I can't say enough good things about Kara! She went above and beyond while taking care of my dog, Luna, and my two cats. Not only did she shower them with attention and make sure all their needs were met, but she also took the initiative to clean up very well after herself and the pets, and even gave Luna a bath! I came home to a spotless house and a happy, clean dog. I received multiple pictures and videos every day with clear communication. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. I will be rebooking, and so far she’s the only one in the area i have thought that about. Loved!”

“Nicky was the most professional person. Arriving a few minutes early to ensure he got everything he needed done prior to arriving (securing parking, front desk reception etc.). Asked thoughtful questions about the care of our dog. Checked in throughout the day, and ensured our dog was walked throughout the day. Our dog LOVED him And even gave him her paw (which she only does when she is comfortable). You could tell he truly cares about dogs/animals. Anytime Nicky is free we’d love for him to sit our dog Bagheera any day. Could not ask for a better sitter.”

“Sandy is great with my 16yr very demanding girl 🐶 It was so nice to not have to worry about a thing while I was away and come back to a clean house and happy dog”
“Jenniffer was amazing with our little Frenchie!!! She arrived early, stayed late, and helped with feeding and medication. Her enthusiasm and communication are exceptional! We can't say enough kind words and appreciation for her.”

“Catherine was the best pet sitter that we ever had! It was obvious from our first meeting that she is a caring and conscientious person. She went above and beyond in handling all of the special needs of our elderly pets. She also sent us short videos of our pets everyday! I highly recommend Catherine as a pet sitter! She is the best! -Karin & Lana”

“Kailee was amazing!!! She went above and beyond taking great care of our puppy and 2 kitties, even taught our pup a couple new tricks. She kept in touch sending movies and pics for us. She also left our home very clean! I would highly recommend Kailee and we look forward to using her again the next time we travel.”

“This was my first time using the app and was nervous leaving my babies and having someone stay at my home without knowing them. I searched through many profiles and immediately felt at ease with Jaclyn, she was responsive and proactive. We had a meet and greet and Maia instantly came to her and settled on Jaclyn’s lap while we talked logistics. I was sold when Jaclyn naturally just started petting her and said to both my pups, we’re going to have a good time together. I felt at ease leaving them with Jaclyn, she has a natural calming energy. During her time with my pups she was communicative and followed instructions perfectly. Both my boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised to find the home exactly as we left it. I highly recommend Jacklyn and will most definitely work with her in the future.”

About: Hello! My name is Steven, and I’m the proud pet parent of Roxanne, my 12-year-old Maltese-Yorkie mix. I’ve had her since she was just 3 months old, and we’ve shared countless adventures, walks, baths, grooming appointments, and cuddles along the way. I’m an early riser with a flexible schedule, making it easy for me to help when life gets busy and you need a reliable hand. I’m also very active, so whether your dog enjoys leisurely strolls or has endless puppy energy, I’m happy to keep up. As a fellow pet parent, I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your furry family member. Leaving them in someone else’s care can be stressful, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. My goal is to make sure both you and your pet feel comfortable, safe, and cared for every step of the way. You can expect plenty of attention, patience, playtime, and lots of love while your pet is in my care. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend! 🐾 I am very lucky to have a pup of my own, one I get to shower with love and affection. I will be sure to provide that same care and attention to yours. Pets instinctively adore us (even cats, albeit in their own way!) I make sure to give them that same energy, while respecting and remaining cognizant of their boundaries.
“Matthew was great!! We have a 5 month old vizsla puppy and he came and stayed at our house. He took Mater on long walks, always sent updates, photos, and videos. Mater was so happy when we got home, but also seemed like he missed his new friend! Matthew also cleaned the sheets, made the bed and washed all the towels. He kept the house very clean! Thank you so much!”

It was wonderful having Marissa do drop in visits at our home. Communication was excellent with plenty of pictures and updates. She had great flexibility with our schedule, even adjusting to a change we needed. We definitely recommend Marissa and are looking forward to booking her again!

Julia did a great job caring for our dog and cat and our home. She even extended her stay one extra day when we asked her to. All of our instructions were followed and the animals were happy. We would certainly hire her again and recommend her to others. Thanks, Julia.!!!

Kara was amazing! She took care of our 5 big dogs for two whole weeks while we were out of the country. She stayed the night at the house at our request and spent most of the day at the house as well. Dogs were happy the whole time and she did a great job even getting them their vitamins and different amounts of food and toppings. She also kept the house tidy which is a full time job with 5 dogs! Was nice coming home to happy pups and a clean house after two weeks. Definitely would use her again and recommend to anyone!
Sarah was amazing and I highly recommend her! I have a senior dog, and she took care of her with so much patience, love, and attention. She made sure all of her medications were given on time and kept me updated throughout the stay, which gave me great peace of mind. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after and treats them like her own. I would absolutely trust Sarah with my dog again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. 🐾💕

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Lili absolutely adored him. Every time he was around, she wanted to play with him and barely paid any attention to us, which says everything about how comfortable and happy she felt in his care. He was incredibly responsive and kept us updated throughout our time away with messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. It was very obvious that he genuinely loves dogs and knows how to connect with them. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book him again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and reliable to watch their dog!

Nicole was absolutely exceptional. From start to finish, she was professional, communicative, attentive, and genuinely caring. It was immediately clear how much she truly loves animals, and our dog absolutely adored her. While we were away, Nicole kept us updated regularly and gave us tremendous peace of mind knowing our dog was in such great hands. She treated him like her own, and we could tell he was happy, comfortable, and very well cared for the entire time. Finding someone you fully trust with your dog is not easy, and Nicole exceeded every expectation we had. She is dependable, thoughtful, kind, and clearly takes great pride in the care she provides. We would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a trustworthy and genuinely wonderful sitter. Thank you again, Nicole, for taking such amazing care of our dog. We are incredibly grateful and look forward to booking with you again soon.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Oakland Park on Rover is $48.84 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,608 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Oakland Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oakland Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oakland Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oakland Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
