“Henry was amazing with our puppy. He kept us updated throughout and really brought peace to our dog while we were away. Would highly recommend his services and will be using him in the future!”

“Marianne is Wonderful! She cares for and treats our fur babies as if her own. I can tell just by the way they interact with her that they’re 100% comfortable! I feel totally at ease while away! Thank you Marianne!”

About: I have taken care of all kinds of pets through my life- dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, even bunnies. I am a foster mom with experience fostering young kittens, administering medications, and giving them a safe space to grow. I currently have some days off during the week, so I have some extra time to provide pet care! I am also available on the weekends. I care for pets in their own homes in addition to house sitting! I can spend the night or pop in throughout the day according to your preference.
“oh my gosh Victoria was AMAZING! The day we did our meet and greet, Victoria explained to us (as this was our first Rover sitter) exactly how the system works and how she works when she was pet sitting/checking on pets. We so appreciated the detailed information. More important than the instructions, our dog Scout would not leave her alone. He sat right in front of her the entire meeting and that spoke volumes to us - he trusted her. Victoria kept us constantly updated starting as soon as she got to the house. She sent us videos and pics of the boys to keep us up to date and informed. It was amazing knowing how our loved doggos were doing while we were gone. She left the house immaculately clean when she left too. I will HIGHLY recommend her and definitely use her again in the future.”

“Maggie is the best!!! We are so happy that we found her and she was able to stay and take care of our dog, Benji. Benji can be a bit skiddish and he warmed right up to Maggie. We can tell that he was really well looked after. She was a great communicator and sent us updates throughout our trip. She watched Benji at our house and left our place spotless. Would 100% recommend! Your pup will be in great hands.”

“Amanda is awesome… We were nervous about having a stranger watch our Stella girl. But we found out almost immediately that we had picked the right sitter. We will definitely use her again.”

“Michele is wonderful! We have had her watch our dog a few times now and she always does a wonderful job! She was also really accommodating for us when we had to make a change. She’s done both house sitting and drop ins and she is always on time and follows the instructions perfectly. I would highly recommend Michele.”

About: I currently have two regular clients who trust me to care for their dogs, and I’ve become their go-to sitter whenever they need help. I treat every pet with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. I’m reliable, flexible with scheduling, and always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. I currently work part time so I am almost always available on the weekends. I am pretty flexible so for those last minute needs you can count on me! I myself have beautiful Labrador retriever dogs who I give all my attention to and always make sure they are always cared for. I also make sure that my animals are properly house trained.
“We had Stella stay at our home for 5 days and 4 nights to watch our 3yr Westie and our Bulldog who is almost 11. She was wonderful with both and handled all the problems and care that goes into an 11yr old Bulldog which included medications. We had daily photos sent to us and she left our home just the way it was when we left, ok maybe better. She accommodated our flight delay by coming back for one last visit which we really appreciated. Usually when we get back from a getaway our dogs go crazy to see us but this time they looked a little disappointed when the door opened and it wasn’t Stella. We highly recommend her and look forward to future travels knowing we have some one like her to stay with the pups.”
“Gary was wonderful with looking after Spooky, following her care guide, looking after our home and his communication was excellent. We recommend Gary highly to care for your pets and will certainly be having him back to help out as needed. Thank you Gary!”

About: I've been around cats and dogs my whole life — growing up with several of both, and currently living with one cat of my own. I'm comfortable with all breeds, ages, and temperaments, from playful puppies to shy senior cats. I'm responsive, detail-oriented, and experienced giving medication on a routine-schedule, so pets with medical needs are never an issue for me. I work from home running my own business, which gives me a flexible and consistent schedule throughout the week and on weekends. I'm available for drop-in visits, dog walks, and overnight house-sitting at your home, with plenty of time to give your pet attention and stick to their routine. When I care for pets in your home, I treat it with the same respect and attention to detail as my own. I follow your instructions exactly — feeding times, medication schedules, and routines — and I'm comfortable administering medication if your pet needs it. I always make sure doors are secure and your home is left just as I found it.
“Amanda was awesome! She was quick to respond and accommodate a last minute overnight. She updated us regularly and followed all instructions. She was able to navigate my older dog’s needs which made us feel at ease while away. We will definitely be using her as our regular sitter!”

“Brenda did a wonderful job taking care of our pets while we were away. She showed so much love, patience, and genuine care for them. We felt very comfortable knowing they were in such good hands and would absolutely recommend her.”

“This was my first time using the app and was nervous leaving my babies and having someone stay at my home without knowing them. I searched through many profiles and immediately felt at ease with Jaclyn, she was responsive and proactive. We had a meet and greet and Maia instantly came to her and settled on Jaclyn’s lap while we talked logistics. I was sold when Jaclyn naturally just started petting her and said to both my pups, we’re going to have a good time together. I felt at ease leaving them with Jaclyn, she has a natural calming energy. During her time with my pups she was communicative and followed instructions perfectly. Both my boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised to find the home exactly as we left it. I highly recommend Jacklyn and will most definitely work with her in the future.”

Simply put, Sara is the best dog sitter I've ever used! She being a dog mom to big dogs herself instantly put my mind at ease. She made sure she asked all the questions, knew exactly what my girl needed, and completely made me feel so comfortable. I was overseas for a week and had anxiety beforehand about how my dog would do without me that long but Sara made sure I was completely informed and able to enjoy my trip. Lucy is so excited to now have Sara as a sitter!

Lauren house sat while we were out of the country and did an amazing job watching my baby Layla. I loved that she sent me updates with pictures and videos so I could see how much of a good time my pup was having. Lauren is so pleasant to work with, reliable, and a great pet sitter for your fur baby!

Jennifer did a great job watching my home and my pet. She was responsive, communicative and very pleasant to work with. Arrived to a couple of appointments on time. Loved the pictures of our little one as we were away for 10 days and missing her. We will definitely request Jennifer again when we go on our next adventure.

Maggie is the best!!! Your pup will be in great hands.

I can’t say enough great things about him! He stepped in to care for my three babies while my regular full-time sitter was away, and I couldn’t have been happier with how everything went. He came highly recommended by my regular sitter, and from day one he made the transition completely seamless. He followed all of their routines and instructions perfectly, kept me updated, and most importantly, Leia, Luke, and Vader absolutely loved him. 🐾❤️ I’m admittedly very particular about who I trust with my dogs, especially when I’m traveling, and I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in his hands. Coming into someone else’s established routine and handling everything so effortlessly says a lot. Reliable, attentive, trustworthy, and clearly an animal lover. I would absolutely have him watch my babies again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pets. Five stars all around! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Melody did such a phenomenal job with Teddy and really made him feel comfortable the moment she saw him! Puppy’s are never easy to watch and she exceeded expectations and even taught Teddy some potty training, which was a huge bonus. I really recommend her as she is a very responsible kind hearted person that will do a great job taking care of your dog.

Charlotte was so wonderful with my senior pup. She was communicative and reliable from the initial meet and greet to her arrival time and all during her stay. She checked in daily and was even flexible with my return due to a delayed flight. 12/10 would recommend

Brunna was amazing. Brunna house sat for me while I was out of town for the Labor Day weekend and did an amazing job looking after Meeko and Stitch. Brunna came over to meet my babies and give her a walk through of my apartment a couple days I went out of town. It was immediately clear her kindness and sweetness was recognized immediately by my boys and they loved her as soon as she came into the apartment. While I was out of town Brunna shared updates with me and took the cutest photos of them. I cant wait for my next trip to ask Brunna to watch over the boys again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Franklin Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Franklin Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Franklin Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
