“Andrew was wonderful. This was the first time I have gone away since my cat started medication and wasn’t sure what would happen. Andrew was highly creative as well as communicative. I really appreciated that. I highly recommend Andrew for your feline fur babies!”

“Kellie did a fantastic job taking care of my cat while we were away. He warmed up to her quickly and seemed so happy in the visit photos. This is the third time we have her take care of him and we’ll continue to request her services whenever we need!”

“Wow, wow, wow!! This was my first time using Rover. I had no idea what to expect and only tried it because I was in a desperate, last-minute situation trying to find care for my dogs while I needed to go away on a very unexpected trip. I truly didn’t have hope that I would find someone on such short notice, but saw her profile and reached out. I was thrilled with her speedy response and her willingness to help. From the minute she walked in the door to meet my dogs, I knew she was absolutely the right fit. My girls fell in love with her instantly, and I felt such a huge relief knowing they were getting exceptional care from her while I was away. It took so much stress off me, and I loved the daily updates and pictures. I cannot say enough good things about her, and I’m now completely spoiled, because I can’t imagine finding a more caring, responsible, loving dog sitter. She is THE BEST!!!! Treated my dogs like they were her own.”

“Very communicative and left detailed reports of how my cat was doing. She included photos in her reports, too, which was so fun to see while away. Absolutely recommend her for taking care of your fur baby!”

“Jaycee dropped-in to feed and play with my 5 year old German Shepard/Husky Dash while I was on vacation. Because Dash, a rescue dog, has been very reactive to strangers, Jaycee slowly became friends with Dash over a month of twice weekly visits until he would let her come into the house alone. A major accomplishment! Dash has been particular with who he would accept and they became good friends. Jaycee will continue to drop in occasionally to work with Dash and his issues. A good experience for both of us!”

“Chloe was amazing as always with my two cats! She is so attentive and always keeps me updated on how they’re doing each day. I really appreciate her kindness and all of the photos she sends every day :) would absolutely reccomend!”

“Jewel was very caring and attentive to my cat Cleo. She made sure to leave a detailed report after each drop in. She made sure Cleo was fed, had water available, and scooped out the litter box during each visit. Any concerns she had during her visits were brought to my attention. This is the second time I booked Jewel to catsit Cleo and I would gladly do so again in the future.”

“Very attentive and kept checking in to make sure Wera was okay. He followed all instructions and best of all kept my kitty happy and active while I was away, I recommend him!!”

About: I've had dogs most of my life. First was Lance, a Springer Spaniel, when i was 4-yrs old. Add German Shorthair Pointers, Weimeraners, Labs, both English and Anerican Cocker Spaniels, terrier mix breeds and my current pup is a Long Hair Chihuahua. Most of my dogs have been shelter rescues. Also, I foster dogs for local shelters. I am retired and spend most of my time at home working in my new garden reading, or crafting. When we have dog guests, our time is devoted primarily to our visitors. Human away time rarely exceeds 4-hrs per day. I have a large fenced yard to run and play in whenever they want Chewy, the Chihuahua, is a friendly companion. Indoors is a dog-friendly/dog priority 3-bdrm home. Plenty of space if a visitor needs some quiet privacy or a mim with pups wants separation. Daily walks add to our exercise regime. Balls, frisbees and dogs are shared. Treats abound!
“Mari sent us lots of pictures. She communicated often and asked questions and sought clarification. Our pets looked and seemed to believe they were well cared for in our absence. Mari was flexible with us and we would totally book with her again in the future.”

“Marlee took incredible care of our kitties while we were on vacation for almost a week. We'd never left them alone that long before and were very nervous. But with every visit, Marlee sent detailed updates and the cutest pictures (lots of them were action shots of the kitties playing)! Even our shy kitty took only a few days to warm up to her. Marlee was also very communicative and responsive throughout the whole process. She'll definitely be our first choice to care for Kal and Syl next time we leave town! Thank you, Marlee!”

“Brit was fantastic with our two cats. She kept me informed about everything they were doing and how they were doing. The girls (cats) absolutely loved having Brit come everyday. She brought toys for them for interacting with them which the girls loved. I would definitely ask Brit to take care of our girls again in the future. Thank you, Brit!!!”

About: Hi, I’m Charlotte (Carly)! I am a remote grant writer, which means I work from home and have a flexible schedule that leaves plenty of time for walks, playtime, and check-ins. I’ve had cats my entire life and have shared the last seven years with my blue heeler, Dudley, so I’m comfortable with everything from independent felines to high energy dogs who need lots of exercise and attention. Whether your pet needs a long walk, a drop-in visit, or someone to keep them company while you’re away, I’ll treat them like family. I’m patient, attentive, and happy to follow your routines for feeding, medication, and anything else that keeps your pet comfortable. I work an incredibly flexible, remote schedule. I set my own hours and can fit visits, walks, and check-ins throughout the day, including midday breaks that are hard for many sitters to offer. When I care for your pets in your home, I treat your space with the same respect I’d want for my own. I will follow your house rules, clean up after every visit, and leave everything just as I found it.

About: I have more than 20 years of experience caring for cats and 10 years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes. I have cared for small, medium, and large dogs, including shy, skittish, and anxious dogs that need patience and time to feel comfortable. I am also a meditation teacher. That background has strengthened my patience, attentiveness, and ability to bring a calm presence to new situations. I take time to notice each pet’s behavior, respect their boundaries, and let trust develop at their pace. I love walking and spending time outdoors. I am happy to provide relaxed neighborhood walks or more active outings based on your dog’s energy level and needs. With your approval, I am also open to taking suitable dogs for outings at Catalina State Park. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting for dogs and cats. I follow each pet’s established routine and pay close attention to their comfort and individual preferences. My goal is to help your pets feel safe and settled while you are away. I am comfortable handling feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, litter box care, and detailed written instructions. I also respect the privacy and cleanliness of every home I enter. Communication matters to me. I love taking photos and will provide regular updates so you know how your pets are doing. I welcome a meet and greet before the first booking so we can review their routine, needs, and personality. My schedule offers flexibility for walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting throughout the week. I often work remotely, which allows me to spend substantial time with pets during house-sitting stays. On some days, I may need to leave for short periods for work or appointments. I will always discuss my schedule with you before booking so we can make sure your pet’s routine and care needs are a good fit. I treat your home with care and respect. I keep pet areas clean, bring in packages or mail when requested, and make sure your home is secure whenever I leave. You can expect regular photos and clear updates throughout the booking. Please let me know how often you prefer to receive them.

About: We recently lost our beloved dog, and due to frequent travel we are unable to get another for a little while. We would love to take care of your pets as we would our own, so you can rest easy that they will be cared for while you are away. We both have many years of experience caring for pets, and are comfortable with all sizes, old and young. I work from home during the week, and can provide lots of love and outdoor time as needed. We are active people, and are happy to take your pets on hikes and runs if that’s their thing, or we can keep it mellow. If your pet stays with us, we have a fully fenced yard with a shaded porch area that they are welcome to hang out in when it’s cooler outside. We don’t have any other pets on the property, so can give your pets all of our attention.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Flowing Wells
As always, Andrew took wonderful care of my cats! Since his last visit, I’ve added a kitten to the family alongside my senior cat, and he naturally knows how to care for both. He’s reliable, punctual, and always sends pictures, which gives me such peace of mind. I’m so grateful for him and feel completely confident leaving my fur babies in his care while I’m away!

This is the third time I’ve booked with Jaycee, and I couldn’t be happier! On two occasions, I had to book with very little notice because of work, and she was always so accommodating and flexible. My cat is very shy and easily scared, so I was a little worried about leaving him with someone new. But Jaycee was incredibly patient and caring, and she was able to gain his trust and give him so much love. They really became friends! ❤️ I came back home to a very well-cared-for, happy cat, which gave me so much peace of mind. I’m very grateful for how loving and reliable Jaycee has been, and I will definitely continue booking with her!

We were so grateful that Karena was able to take such great care of our pups during our weekly drop-ins! She was responsive, professional, and most importantly, it was clear she genuinely loved and cared for our two pups, which meant we had peace of mind knowing they were in good hands.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
