“It's always hard for me to leave my pets at home with a new person, but Vanessa was wonderful with communication and was able to cover at a moments notice. I loved the photos and summary of each visit and she seems to care about the well-being of the animals :)”

“We had a great experience with Lauren. She came by to let out my dogs Presley and Kovu and took such good care of them. She was reliable and communicative. The dogs seemed happy and comfortable with her. We really appreciated the updates and care she gave them and would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Alexis was super nice and made sure my cat was engaged and well taken care of. She even stayed a little more than the slot booked because my wet food feeder was malfunctioning and made sure my kitty didn’t have to go without food! Would definitely book again!”

“Alison was absolutely great! I booked her last-minute for the holidays, and she did everything I asked and more. She sent great pictures of the cats, very detailed updates, and always made sure my fur babies were happy. Can’t recommend her enough!”

“Griselda is awesome. She has helped us with our baby dogs several times now and we have booked her again. Excellent communication and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Would strongly recommend.”

“Ander came to our rescue after a last-minute cancellation left us scrambling to find someone to drop in! Thankfully, Ander was incredibly quick to respond and eager to help us out despite the quick turnaround, so our anxiety was short-lived. Throughout booking to drop in, Ander remained responsive, kept us in the loop, and saved my pups from an uncomfortable day cooped up at home alone. We hope to work with Ander again soon!”

“Jaycee has been wonderful and patient with my nervous little doggo. He’s slow to warm up to new people and Jaycee has been excellent at going at his pace and working with him when he didn’t even want to leave his crate at first. Couldn’t recommend her more!”

The cat is free fed and always has water in her dish. I understand that people have different schedules for their animals and I can stick to them to make sure you’re pet stays healthy and safe

About: 🐾 Hi! I’m someone who has grown up around animals my entire life — dogs, cats, bunnies, birds, and more — and caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life. From a young age, I helped care for family pets, and over the past several years, friends and neighbors have regularly trusted me to care for their pets while they travel or work. In December 2025, after multiple recommendations from friends and neighbors, I decided to join Rover to expand my pet care services within my community. What started as part-time pet sitting has recently grown into expanded availability for boarding, house sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walks. I currently share my home with both dogs and cats, so I’m very familiar with daily routines, supervising interactions, reading body language, and creating a calm, structured environment for animals with different personalities and energy levels. I pay close attention to feeding schedules, exercise needs, comfort levels, behavior changes, medications, and making sure pets feel safe, secure, and cared for while away from their owners. I’m also comfortable administering oral medications with clear instructions from pet parents. I have experience assisting with injectable medications for cats as well and am comfortable following detailed instructions for administration and care. 🐶 What Makes My Care Special: • Lots of playtime, enrichment, walks, cuddle time, and attention • Interactive toys, feeders, chew toys, and activities to keep pets mentally stimulated • Consistent communication and photo updates throughout stays • A calm, loving, low-stress home environment • Care tailored to each pet’s personality, routine, and comfort level Because I have both dogs and cats at home, it’s important that pets staying with me are safe around small animals and cats. Friendly or indifferent is perfectly fine, but I cannot accept pets with a history of aggression, high prey drive, or unsafe behavior toward cats or smaller animals. I also like to discuss each dog’s comfort level, socialization, routine, and needs beforehand to make sure it’s a good fit for everyone. I’m also open to house sitting when it’s the right fit. Because I have pets of my own, they would need to come with me for longer stays. They’re friendly, well-socialized, and respectful in the home environment, and I always prioritize maintaining a safe, calm, and comfortable space for everyone involved. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets, so I truly aim to treat every animal like family while they’re with me. 🐶🐱💛 Pet care already fits naturally into my daily routine. My pets are very active, so walks, enrichment, playtime, and outdoor time are already a regular part of my day. I recently transitioned into doing pet care full-time and currently have expanded availability for boarding, drop-ins, walks, house sitting, and accepting new one-time and repeat clients. Because pet care is now my primary focus, I’m home the majority of the time and able to provide lots of supervision, attention, and companionship throughout the day. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I maintain a clean, calm environment, supervise interactions closely, follow routines carefully, and do my best to make every pet feel safe, secure, and comfortable while in my care.

Im not currently working and I am available anytime to watch your fur babies. Morning, afternoon and evenings. Over night stays as well if needed. Communication is a priority and I will provide frequent updates with photos/videos. This has allowed my clients to see first hand how safe, comfortable, and secure their pets feel in my care. My clients often express their peace of mind knowing their pets are safe, understood, and well cared for while away

About: Hello! I am a pet lover who grew up with Boston terriers for 20+ years. I also grew up working with dogs (Border Collies) on ranches, working side by side on various tasks. Because of my experience and comfort with dogs, I have been dog-sitting for friends and family my whole life. I have some experience caring for cats, including my sisters' and friends' cats (5+ years). I am very active and can exercise or entertain your pet with play or runs. I have rarely met a dog I couldn't build trust with. I am working a full-time position at the University of Arizona. I am free from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m., 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays. I have full availability on weekends. I ensure to follow all the rules the pet owner has established. I will use commands and language the dog is familiar with to avoid confusion. I make sure the pets are exercised 2-3 times a day. Cleaned and brushed if needed. I am mindful of water intake and make sure that all pets are kept on their usual schedule.

About: Dogs have been part of my life since I was 5, and I treat every pup I care for like my own. I'm the go-to dog sitter for family and friends whenever they travel, and I've comfortably cared for up to 4 dogs at once. I'm also happy to do solo walks for dogs who prefer one-on-one attention. I've walked puppies, seniors, high-energy dogs, and anxious dogs, and I'm comfortable in all kinds of settings, from quiet trails and neighborhood paths to busy dog parks and downtown streets. Every walk is matched to your dog's energy and personality. I also have experience with dogs who need extra care. I looked after a 90 lb Lab-pit mix with cancer, carrying her downstairs for potty breaks and back to bed. I've also cared for a 35 lb Lab/Basenji mix with a heart condition, keeping to slow strolls so he could get light exercise without raising his heart rate. If your dog has special needs, I know how to adapt. I'm flexible with walk times to work around the Arizona heat and keep your dog comfortable. You'll get photo or video updates during every walk, and I'd love to start with a free meet-and-greet so your dog and I can get comfortable before the first walk. I have a pretty flexible schedule during the week so taking the time needed to be with your dog is no issue. Morning and mid days are the ideal time for me to care for your furry friend. Your dog's safety and comfort come first, whether I'm walking them, dropping in, or sitting at your home. Before the first visit, I like to do a meet-and-greet to learn your dog's routine, personality, triggers, and any health needs, plus your vet's contact info and emergency instructions. On walks, I keep dogs securely leashed, watch their body language, and adjust the pace and route to their energy and age. I bring water, schedule walks around the Arizona heat, and avoid hot pavement. For dogs who need extra care, like seniors or dogs with medical conditions, I follow your instructions on exercise limits, medications, and mobility help. When I'm in your home, I keep doors and gates secure, follow your feeding and potty schedule, and keep the space clean and calm. If dogs don't get along, I keep them separated and offer solo walks. If anything seems off, I'll contact you right away and follow your emergency plan.
“Courtney is absolutely incredible! Our fur girls absolutely adored her and immediately went to her for cuddles and treats! If you are looking for someone who your pets will immediately connect with, Courtney is the pet sitter for you! She is friendly, a wonderful communicator and gives the best daily updates and photos ever!!! We are so grateful to have found her and look forward to our next adventure knowing that our girls will be well cared for”

“Kenna is very friendly and professional. She has a wonderful energy that our pups absolutely love. One of our dogs takes a long time to warm up to new people, but she warmed up to Kenna faster than expected. Kenna is also very detail oriented as our dogs have special needs that she was able to fully meet. We highly recommend her.”

“I had adopted a German Shepherd, and 4 days later asked Sophia if she could watch him for 7+ days. She took on this immense responsibility with such class, kindness, warmheartedness, and with a true desire to make his experience the best she could give him. Her communication was second to none by responding quickly to texts (within the hour), making time for FaceTimes, sending pictures, and updating frequently as asked. She made my mind and travel experience at ease knowing that she was taking great care of my brand new baby boy. Mind you, this was all over the Christmas holiday. Her sacrifice during the holidays was incredibly appreciated and I would recommend Sophia to anyone who needs comfort knowing that their animal is in wonderful hands.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Tortolita
Madison was so great with our dogs and cats. They all love her, and one of our dogs has trouble liking people. She really went above and beyond while taking care of them. She cleaned up more than she needed to. She was always on time. I’m very stressed to leave my pets at home, and it was such a relief having someone so reliable here to watch after them.
She did great after not seeing the dogs for quite some time. Our dogs are 2 young golden retriever and get very excited and she handles them well, we got updates for every visit with pictures. She is always on time which made me feel more at ease when we were on vacation.

Lucille was great! She took great care of my Doberman. She took my pup for walks and play fetch with him on her drop in visits! Her communication was excellent and she provided pictures/videos as well! Will definitely be my go to when I need someone to help out with my pup!

Olivia is amazing!! She dropped in several times over the past few days and took such good care of my senior pup Stryker. She even came by last minute for a visit when there was a conflict with the work schedule. Communicates very well and sends pics and videos. Will absolutely book her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
