Veterinary Medicine Student

I'm a first-year veterinary student at the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine, here in Oro Valley, AZ. As a student, I work with all kinds of animals, from companion animals to reptiles and farm animals! I graduated with my bachelor's degree in the pre-veterinary track from Arizona State University in 2025 and hope to graduate with my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2028. - I've been an animal lover since I was a child when I first started volunteering at the animal shelter! I've worked in veterinary clinics as a veterinary assistant throughout undergrad so I have a lot of experience with animals. I love pet-sitting through Rover as a de-stressor from school, as animals always make me happy :) - Meet and Greets are a must before our first booking to ensure I’m a good fit for you and your pet(s). - Lastly, pet safety is my priority at all times. I ensure that homes are left in the same original condition as upon arrival and lock up according to the owner’s instructions.

Drop-In Visits • Sep 06, 2026

I am giving Lauren a 2 because I just don’t feel like I received what I paid for. I could tell she rushed through the visits. My elderly father was home, and let me know she was there for less than 10 minutes each time, when each visit should have been 30 minutes ($ at the rate of a dollar a minute for my pet care…given that the visit should have been 30 minutes). She definitely scooped out the boxes (but didn’t take the trash out) and fed the cats. I was hoping to get a few more pictures to see she actually spent some time with the cats.

Lauren Kim is a first rate, 5 star pet sitter! Would rehire anytime if/when available. Lauren took extra care with our dog, Arni, and went out of her way to make him feel at home, and comfortable. Lauren looked after his daily needs like the professional she is!

Lauren is so sweet and kind! She is prompt and very reliable. Our dog is very picky about who watches him & he went right up to her and gave her a kiss on the hand the 1st time she watched him!

Lauren is amazing!!! She kept in touch with me the entire time she was with my dogs. My dogs were happy when we got home and I can tell when they have been taken care of. They clearly really like Lauren ! My house was super clean and she even stripped the bed she slept in. We already booked her for our upcoming trip.

Lauren is a great house and pet sitter! She gave us regular updates and followed all instructions for our pets. Our dog has trust issues but it didn’t take him long to accept Lauren.

House Sitting • Jul 26, 2026

I cannot recommend this sitter based on our experience. Before the booking, we provided detailed written instructions about our dogs, including that Boots is a puppy who requires supervision because she is still in her chewing stage. We also left plenty of toys, bones, treats, a kennel, and cleaning supplies, and made ourselves available if any questions or concerns came up. Instead, shortly after our trip began, we received a message saying the sitter had gone back to sleep because she hadn’t gotten enough rest the night before. During that time, Boots was left unsupervised long enough to chew our wall. Rather than taking responsibility for the situation or finding a way to continue providing the service she agreed to, she asked us to make alternate arrangements because she had an exam on Monday and needed to be well rested. When someone accepts an in-home pet sitting booking, they are accepting the responsibility of supervising the pets and fulfilling the commitment for the agreed-upon dates. Personal obligations, including exams, should have been considered before accepting the booking—not after we had already left town and were relying on her. The most disappointing part was being put in the position of scrambling to find replacement care while we were away. We trusted this sitter with our home and our dogs, and instead we were left dealing with property damage and an incomplete booking. Reliability is one of the most important qualities in a pet sitter, and unfortunately, this experience showed a lack of reliability, accountability, and professionalism. We understand that unexpected situations can happen, but based on our experience, we would not book with this sitter again.

Schedule

I am currently a full time professional student doing Rover on the side to help pay off my student loans! - I still have school over the summer! My classes are from Monday-Friday. The times we have are variable for each day and are range from 8am-5pm. - Drop-ins/dog walking: We usually have a 1-hour break at 11am where I can stop by if you live close to my school, or I can come when classes are over for the day. - House-sitting: I am fully available to house-sit on weekends, but I have classes on weekdays. Though I am still able to house-sit on weekdays, keep in mind that I may be not be able to stay at your house for a good chunk of the day, depending on the day. If you need weekday house-sitting, please reach out to me with the days you need and for how much of those days you need me to be at your house! I can check my schedule and get back to you. Sometimes, we have whole mornings off or get done super early, so it just depends.

Safety, trust & environment

Drop-ins/Walking: I will always message you the time I complete my visit and send you photos of your furry friend(s)! I can provide you any details of the visit you need such as if they went potty, how much they ate, etc. - House-sitting: I know it's nerve-racking to leave your loved one(s) and go off on a trip. However, I can send you photos as often as you'd like so you feel confident that they are in good hands. I'll keep an eye out on messages during my stay so I can respond with updates. I will reliably follow the directions you give me, making sure your loved one(s) feel safe & happy! Please provide specific instructions for pet and home care, including safety protocols in your home. Otherwise, I'm careful to not disturb anything inside your home and will ensure it is locked up properly and cleaned up upon my departure! - Boarding/Daycare: I can only accommodate small-medium dogs with more calm personalities for boarding at this time. I live with my parents who are also animal lovers. We live in a dog-proof house with a fenced yard available for potty breaks. We can only accommodate either boarding or daycare at one time. Before booking, you and your pup can visit my house to see if it is a good fit!

A typical day

I can provide your pet with anything that's typical for their schedule! Just let me know what you need, and I can provide them with playtime or give walks as needed. Also, I can do anything else you may need around the house such as watering plants, laundry, dishes, etc., since I'll be at your house already!

Please let me know about any medications or treatments that you need me to administer. Also, I'd like to know your pet's likes/dislikes. Does your dog get nervous around other dogs or strangers? Does he or she enjoy certain activities? I am also able to provide care for exotic animals, as I have experience with their care. Let me know if this is needed for the duration of a drop-in or a house-sitting booking!
