“Jennifer treated our dog as if it was her own. She was a great communicator, sending pictures and updates throughout the day. She has a lives in a nice house, is a quiet neighborhood, with a fenced in backyard, perfect for any dog’s stay. We plan to use her again.”

“Jinna was amazing! This was our first time using Rover and leaving our baby with someone else. Reese seemed to have a blast with her dog Didi and her cat. He was very excited to see her again. We absolutely appreciated the frequent and rapid communication, update pictures, and detailed report cards. We’ll definitely be booking with her again.”

“We had a great experience with Heidi! Lots of detailed updates and photos :) Celeste had such a great time there that she’s kind of glum now that she’s back here haha! We hope that Heidi will host Celeste again in future!”

“Amanda was great and Millie had a great time with Porky. She came home exhausted after having several days of playing. Amanda was incredibly accommodating after I booked daycare only instead of boarding. She offered to watch Millie overnight without hesitation. She’s super easy to get ahold of and provides regular updates. Of course Porky kept Millie super busy and having fun!”

“Karen was a godsend. We had to find arrangements in less than a week and using the Rover app made it easy. Based upon the criteria we selected, Karen’s profile immediately appealed to us. The meet and greet went splendidly. Her yard is very doggie friendly and our Lucy took to playing and romping around right away which really put us at ease. We had a great conversation while the dogs explored their home away from home. We felt good how she had a notebook that had each dogs profile and their likes/dislikes, daily routine, where they liked to sleep, etc. Karen’s daily updates put us further at ease knowing how our fur babies were doing. Seeing pictures of them “in action” always made us smile. It was comforting knowing our Penny was constantly in her lap. Loved how she spoiled them by adding a little gravy to their food to get them to finally eat. All-in-all, we couldn’t have been more pleased with Karen. It’s so evident how much she loves her job not only taking such good care of other peoples pets, but also taking care of the emotions of the pets parents. Karen is a lovely person and we know we have a friend for life and a home away from home for our girls.”

“Julie was amazing! She watched Dallas super last minute while I was in town for a wedding, and I’m so grateful. She was kind, reliable, and made me feel comfortable leaving him with her even on short notice. Dallas was well taken care of, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone needing a sweet and trustworthy sitter!”

“I was so grateful that she accepted my request the day before. Her house and family are lovely, and her fenced in yard is awesome. Also, her house seemed very secure, which put my mind at ease since one of my dogs is a true escape artist. My boys came home happy and tired! I would definitely use her again! ❤️🐾”

“Bella had a great time with Christina and her family. She was super flexible and accommodating. The visit went really well and Christina is clearly very experienced with dogs. We really appreciated her letting Bella hang out at her house.”

“Shaylee was so amazing with our boy! She was communicative, and very kind & flexible when the event we were at was delayed, and she told us to not rush back. She sent pictures and even gave him a toy to play with (that he probably destroyed 😂) would definitely recommend her!!!”

Jennifer treated our dog as if it was her own. She was a great communicator, sending pictures and updates throughout the day. She has a lives in a nice house, is a quiet neighborhood, with a fenced in backyard, perfect for any dog’s stay. We plan to use her again.

Christopher and Laura took great care of my French bulldog, Princeton. He seemed to have a wonderful time playing with their two friendly golden retrievers, Lola and Lemon. Their daughter was also involved and helped make his stay a positive experience. I really appreciated how patient and attentive they were when I went over Princeton's routines and preferences. They took the time to listen and made me feel confident that he would be well cared for. Their fenced backyard was another big plus, and I think Princeton thoroughly enjoyed having a safe outdoor space to run around and play. Overall, this was a great experience, and I would happily recommend Christopher and Laura to anyone looking for caring, thoughtful dog sitters. Princeton came home happy and well cared for!

Hannah was terrific! My 14 year old Boston terrier, Chymlee, that has limited sight was well taken care of to the point I that when I picked him up I am not completely sure he wanted to came home with me. Hannah made sure all of his needs were met and her golden retriever, Leo, was gentle and friendly with Chumlee. If I could compare playing the lottery with picking a Rover sitter, choosing Hannah was like winning the lottery.
Amanda was great with my new puppy Boiler, she was able to watch him last minute and give great updates on how his day was going. Her communication was excellent and the drop off and pick up process was so easy. Will definitely be booking with her again in the future!

Overall, my dog's day with Christina and her family was fine. Thanks for keeping an eye on him! I did not love that upon dropping my dog off, they did not greet or even pet him. They did send an update very quickly after drop off with a photo which was great, but halfway through the appointment I had not heard from them so I checked in, and that was the only other update I received until right before the appointment ended. Prior to the appointment I was told I would get updates all throughout the day. I get this probably varies from sitter to sitter, but would recommend not stating you will send updates throughout the day if you do not intend to. Overall, if you are looking for cut and dry dog sitting this was satisfactory.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
