Amy kept my daughter’s dog and my dog for a week. It was obvious the pups were having a good time by the photos she sent us. I left her a lot of instructions and she followed them exactly. One of our dogs has a physical issue and she was great about separating the two types of food and so forth. Amy stayed in my home and she left it in great shape. Clean and tidy. I would highly recommend that if you’re looking for a sitter, Amy is excellent.

Victoria has been a great sitter and I would love to use her again in the future. She provided several updates throughout the stay, and was very attentive. One of our pets experienced a medical emergency and she was able to take them to the ER vet and get them the care needed. I’m not sure what we would have done without her!

He did a great job taking care of Oliver while we were away for the week. He sent daily updates and photos, which we really appreciated, and it was clear that Oliver was well taken care of. He was also respectful of our home and left everything very clean. He even washed the sheets and towels he used, which was a nice touch. Overall, we had a very positive experience and would definitely recommend him as a dog sitter!

When Kelly first came to meet our girls she was understanding and patient with our dogs. My oldest Zola tends to be overprotective of me when others are around, she shows it by barking constantly. Kelly was gentle and knew how to engage. During her day with our girls she sent us pictures and videos of my girls! She also communicated with us while we were away on how they were behaving and what they were up to! Thank you Kelly for caring for our girls!

About: I’ve spent years caring for dogs and cats, both as a pet owner and as a trusted sitter for family and friends. I’ve personally owned high-drive, strong-willed breeds, so I understand the patience, consistency, exercise, and structure they need to thrive. I’ve also had cats my entire life and truly understand their unique personalities and needs. What sets me apart is that I don’t just care for pets—I take the time to understand each animal individually and treat them like they’re my own. I’m currently working for Vancouver Public Schools so I will have plenty of time for walks at 3:00pm or later, or house sitting! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. When caring for your pets in their home, I make sure they stay in a familiar, comfortable environment while maintaining their normal routines as much as possible. I’m respectful of your home, attentive to your pet’s needs, and committed to providing reliable, loving care so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

About: Since I was 17 years old I have loved taking care of pets. I have a majority of experience in dog sitting but I have cat sat for family friends over the last couple of years. Whether it has been family, friends, or even roommates, I have dog-sat for long and short periods for a wide variety of dogs and dog personalities. I have done my time doing the typical neighbor dog walk in my hometown, but as I have gotten older and lived in other parts of Oregon I've had more diverse experiences. One terrier who I have the most pet-sitting experience disliked touching and getting pets, but I still gave him plenty of walks, play, and quality time. I love pet sitting because they provide a huge impact to everyone who wants to leave their pet in good hands. I am new to the Vancouver/Metro area, looking for work all around. I might be working for a non-profit 4 days/week, but I am available. Overall I have high weekend availability and would love to watch your dog! For house sitting I will follow any specific instructions as needed. Whether it's related to dinner, doggy bedtime, or a walk routine I can assure that the pets will be in good hands.

About: Hello! I have grown up with animals (dogs, cats, & more) and am currently a paw-rent to an Australian shepherd/cattle dog mix & an orange tabby cat. Our rescue pup came with some pretty severe reactivity issues that we continuously spend time working on and training. This challenge has made me learn and grow so much as a pet parent and in turn, a pet sitter! I am always the designated pet-sitter for friends and family, and I love it! Outside of my own, I have had experience with lazy and chill animals, as well as reactive and/or hyper. I myself love the outdoors and would be happy to bring your fur baby on walks or hikes, short or long. I am also available for long term care and/or home visits. I am comfortable with all sizes and personalities, and have experience with senior (cat) care, and administering oral medication (dog & cat). I am here for you and your pets needs, whatever they may be! I am currently available every day of the week to meet your and your pets needs! I prefer weekdays in the mornings/afternoons before 5pm but am flexible would be happy to work out anything that would fit your schedule best! Your pets safety is my top priority! Whether I am sitting in your home or just out on a walk or hike, they will be protected.

About: I have been pet sitting for a few years ever since I was in high school. I have taken care of many animals such as dogs, puppies, cats, guinea pigs, and chickens. I understand that every pet has their own individual personalities and take that into consideration. While I have fed according to their meal plans and dietary needs, walked, and given lots of love an attention to dogs and other animals I also take in their personality into consideration. It is important for your dog to feel comfortable and safe with the person taking care of them so that they won’t feel lonely or anxious while you’re away. I’m not currently working since I’m in Washington now after coming from school. So for now, my schedule is pretty open but I may get a part time job in the future if I can to help provide payment for my tuition. I walk the dogs at requested times or if the dog desires to do so, I always try my best to stay punctual on when they should be fed, taking them out on potty breaks, playing with them and giving them the care they need.

Abra did a wonderful job taking care of our pets. We have a large doodle, a cat and fish aquarium. Abra gave them all excellent care and provided frequent updates and adorable pictures. She was very attentive to all of the pets. She played with the cat, she walked the dog and played fetch with him. Our time away was more relaxing knowing that we had a dependable and caring person looking after our animals. We will be using Abra's help again next time that we travel.

About: I have owned dogs and cats since for almost 15 years. I also grew up with cats and dogs in our family home. My family currently has a 2 year old Golden Retriever named Lily and 2 cats named Dobby and Luna (can you tell we’re Harry Potter fans? 😉). Before our Golden Retriever, we had a Staffordshire Terrier mix named Maggie. We had her for 8 years - she died unexpectedly in August 2021. While we had Maggie we also had 2 cats named Oscar and Felix. My husband and I moved in together in July 2009 and since then we have never not owned at least 1 animal at any given time. We are obviously an animal-loving family! I have always loved dogs and their unconditional love and companionship. They’ll never judge or ridicule, just love you. In addition to our dog and 2 cats we have 2 human children - our son Jaxson is 8 and our daughter Addie is 5. My husband is a plumber and I have been a stay at home mom for 5+ years now. My son will be in 3rd grade in the Fall and my daughter is starting kindergarten. Thus, I will have more free time during the day now to help with your beautiful and lovable pets! I’m currently a full-time stay at home parent but my youngest child will be starting kindergarten in September, so I will have lots more time to play with your pups and take them for walks, or even provide doggy daycare at my home. I can also provide drop-in visits for cats. I can also provide house-sitting but only primarily on the weekends. I will primarily be available Monday-Friday from 8:30am-2:30pm but I could also do evenings and weekends depending on my kids’ activities schedules. For doggy daycare services, have a fully fenced yard and a very friendly and non-aggressive Golden Retriever who loves playing with other dogs. We also have a large soft crate if your dog needs to be crated if I need to leave the house for awhile. For dog-walking, drop-ins, and house-sitting I will treat your home with the utmost respect and follow any and all rules and procedures of your home. I want you to feel secure and comfortable at all times with me being in your home and taking care of your beloved pets.

About: My name is Chelsea, and my husband is GiHyeon. We both love animals. I especially adore cats~ my beloved Chache Kitty was my companion for 16 years living in a foreign country, and I miss him a lot. I also grew up with family pets. We had a golden retriever labrador mix Peppermint for most of my childhood, several cats, both senior and kittens, rabbits, hamsters, even a pet mouse. My husband also grew up with pets, and he helped me care for my Chache Kitty during his final days. He loves playing catch with our friends dogs, and they really seem to love him. When we are with your animals, you can expect that we will take care of them as if they were our own. We will walk 1-2 times daily with your pups, and if they enjoy it we will throw a ball with them. Of course we will give them food and water, and cuddle/snuggle with them as much as they want. In March we spent 10 days taking care of 1 dog and 2 cats in their home. We really enjoyed that, and would love to do the same in your home. You can trust that your animals will be safe with us, and we will look after your home as well. If you have any questions, please reach out! I am working full time, and spend most evenings and weekends at home. My husband's schedule is not set, and currently has more freedom. We can walk your dog in the morning/evening, and possibly during the day too. If you need someone to be in the home full time during your vacation, please reach out to confirm if one of us could be there all day while you are gone. We would love to care for your pets in your home. If there is a park nearby, we would walk there 1-2x daily. If you ask that we keep your pet on a leash, we can absolutely do that. If you want your pet to run free, we ask that you give us tips to call your dog back to our side. If there is medication that needs to be given, we will follow your directions. Your dogs and cats can even sleep with us.

Sami watched our two dogs, one with cancer requiring extra care and attention to a weeping wound and the other with an initial fear of most people. They both took to Sami immediately with no fear. She also watched our cat. We got daily updates. Our dog with cancer is on steroids causing ravenous hunger and will eat everything. Sami was so careful to keep items away from her and keeping doors closed. We came home to a clean house and she even did laundry and remade the bed. 100% recommended. She is our #1!

FAQs for House Sitting - Felida

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Felida on Rover is $48.15 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 4,515 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Felida. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Felida walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Felida maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Felida choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Felida. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
