Venessa was nothing short of amazing. We last minute needed someone to stay with our dogs for a day while we were at work and she answered the call! I was sent pictures of my 3 fur babies all day with constant updates and communication. I will without a doubt be calling on Venessa again when we need someone to stay with the dogs.

I honestly can’t say enough amazing things about Marie!! We’ve used multiple sitters on Rover before, and she is in a league of her own. She went so far above and beyond—sending tons of photos and videos, keeping our home spotless, and even helping set up a water fountain and troubleshoot our cats’ picky eating habits. It’s clear she genuinely cares. Most importantly, she loved our cats like they were her own, and that meant everything to us. She was truly an angel and we feel incredibly fortunate to have had her. We will absolutely be using her again—she deserves every bit of recognition! Thank you so much Marie!!

About: I have taken care of all ages and sizes of dog, from lab puppies to senior chihuahuas. I have lived with dogs my whole life, and have been pet sitting since high school. I am skilled with spicy dogs and administering medicine since my last dog was a chihuahua with PTSD. I currently work part time in the middle of the day, so I have plenty of time to play and care for pets. I also have a car so I can transport myself to and from each clients residence. I love to keep the pets company when owners are gone for a period of time, taking them on walks, playing, and of course feeding them.

About: Hi, I’m Alyssa! I’ve been house sitting and caring for pets for years, and there’s nothing I love more than making sure animals feel safe, happy, and loved while their families are away. As a veterinary assistant, I bring both professional knowledge and hands on experience to every pet I care for. I’ve worked with animals of all kinds, whether your pet has four legs, feathers, scales, or tiny paws, I’m comfortable providing attentive, compassionate care that’s tailored to their individual needs. I understand that every animal has their own personality and routine, and I strive to make your time away as stress free as possible for both you and your pets. Whether it’s daily walks, administering medications, caring for farm animals, or simply giving plenty of love and attention, I’ll treat your pets as if they were my own. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family! I do work full time, however I am willing to dedicate all of my time outside of work to your pets while you are away! I will follow whatever saftey measures you follow with your babies. I can safely navigate a flight risk pup or kitty. I am also comfortable with mild aggressive/snappy animals. I just want you to feel as little stress as possible while your babies are under my care!

About: Certified dog trainer and behaviorist. Pet CPR certified Medication dispensing knowledge Grooming knowledge I own a 2 year old Goldendoodle, Winnie. I raised her while going to school for my certification from 12 weeks old. I practice positive reinforcement with balanced training. We work hard and play harder, and love an active lifestyle. I’m a stay-at-home mom and I intentionally keep my schedule open so I can provide consistent, attentive care. I enjoy staying busy and working with animals daily. Available 7 days a week, typically 9am–9pm. Weekend availability varies based on client needs. Animals in my care are treated like family, but with structure. I provide clear boundaries, routine, and guidance so pets feel secure and understood. Pets are given time to play, eat, potty, train, and rest. I incorporate basic manners and calm behavior into daily care so they’re not just being watched—they’re learning. I have a young child in the home, so I need to know ahead of time if a pet is sensitive or reactive around children. Requirements: Up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies) No intact dogs over 2 years old Must be safe to handle in a home environment I also use long leads when appropriate to safely allow freedom while maintaining control, which is helpful for recall and behavior work.

About: I already have a lot of experience with animal care, and now that I'm a professional housesitter, my experience with all kinds of dogs and cats is surging. I grew up with dogs, a long-term pet bird (a cockatiel), and I raised rabbits in rabbit 4H as a child. As an adult, I'd cared for several different cats, dogs, and a rabbit for friends and roommates, even before starting housesitting. I've given pills to dogs and cats, and administered insulin to an elderly cat. Since moving to Oregon in July 2026, my schedule has filled up so fast with several amazing house and pet sits. I'm taking care small dogs, large dogs, calm dogs, and high-energy dogs. I adapt walking strategy to dog's reactivity, according to the owner's guidance and everything else I observe in real time. And if you count your beloved plants as part of the family, I understand. I've got experience caring for those, too! I can take care of your chickens and keep your garden going, no problem. I've loved dog sitting so deeply, that I've decided to work on becoming a professional dog trainer. I want to work with these guys all day long. For now, I'm dog sitting and dog walking. I'm learning about all sorts of breeds and doggie personalities, through real immersion with them. So, I'm looking forward to tending to your specific pet, to learn what makes them tick and to carry that awareness forward into the rest of my career! I'm a full-time professional housesitter! That means that I am very flexible to accommodate your pet's usual routine. I work in data annotation, and it's all on my laptop. My work schedule is incredibly flexible. This means I can set up anywhere with wifi, and we'll be good to go! I'm available to do dog walking during the day, as well, when I'm nearby. My dog walking schedules and availabilities will just shift as I stay in different houses, taking care of different pets. Curious about what I do when there are gaps in my house sit schedules? I live near family in Portland, so I won't ever get stranded. However, I actually intentionally leave gaps in my schedule, because personal travel is very important to me. It's actually surprisingly sustainable to book out sits and trips far enough into the future to know exactly what the plan is. If I'm not housesitting, I'm probably going on a much coveted camping trip, or doing some exploring on my own terms in a new town. I'm an explorer at heart, so I actually build flexibility and open time into my housesitting schedule. Before moving here to Oregon, I'd lived in Boston for five years. While I loved that city, I was consistently in 12-month apartment leases, and I started to need more flexibility and options. So, I'm enjoying this new chapter and drinking in as much as I can of Oregon and the surrounding states. I have pretty extensive gardening knowledge, having taken a large chunk of the WSU home horticulture and master gardener's training program. I've grown a lot of different vegetables and berries, and I can care for flowers and ornamentals, too! I love plants and would very much enjoy spending time in your garden, monitoring plant health and giving good morning waterings, etc.

Lena did a fantastic job watching our Shepherd, Frenchie, and cat. From the moment we left, her communication was outstanding. She sent wonderful photos and videos throughout our trip, which always made us smile and gave us peace of mind knowing our pets were happy and well cared for. She also took excellent care of our home, including bringing in packages and keeping an eye on everything while we were away. Most importantly, our animals absolutely adored her. They were happy, relaxed, and clearly received lots of love and attention during her stay. We would not hesitate to book Lena again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative pet sitter.

About: Besides my experience with my own pets I began volunteering at the Oregon Humane Society at 17. After that I went on to dog sit for various different families part time for around 3 years. I have a big window of availability currently. I’m going back to school in the fall, but until then I am just working part time. I work for my grandpa, so my schedule is super flexible! When I dog sit in the clients home I will follow your instructional list for feeding/walks/ activities/ grooming ect. I have car so I can take your pup to nearby parks/ dog parks if you would like, or just for a classic stroll around your neighborhood if you prefer. For clients that would prefer I take car if you dog in my home I have a fenced in back yard and live near several park so we can go on several adventures. Or just chill at home if you have a senior/ more low energy dog. My only deal breaker is that your dog isn’t reactive towards cats.

Emma is so kind and friendly - listened greatly to the needs of our dogs and took amazing care of them! One pup surprised us with an ear infection before we had to leave and she was able to give the medicine to them during the stay. She was super flexible and able to stay later than expected due to my flight delays which took a lot of stress off! I can’t say thank you enough!! Would 100% reach out again if I need a sitter in the future! Very trust worthy!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Knapp Landing

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 4,510 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Knapp Landing. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Knapp Landing walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Knapp Landing maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Knapp Landing choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Knapp Landing. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
