“Trace was fantastic with my two dogs Dobby and Bing. He is very hands on and will take care of the pups like his own. He has experience with large dogs which was imperative for us. I highly recommend Trace and would definitely request his company for the pups.”

“Debbie was great. She handled everything professionally, asked great questions, and even had some suggestions. Good communication leading up to and during our trip. We would use her again.”

“Erin was lovely and took fantastic care of our pups. Both of our dogs are difficult in their own special ways - one of them has a lot of attitude and energy and is aggressive toward other dogs; the other is blind, partially deaf, and incontinent. She seemed to handle them both beautifully with no problems and no hesitation. We received updates and photos of the dogs when we were on vacation. Erin kept us informed, was very responsive when we checked in, and was very organized and easy to work with. (She even went above and beyond and did laundry!) We felt that our pups were in very good hands and wouldn't hesitate to book her again. She has our highest recommendation!”

“I honestly can’t say enough amazing things about Marie!! We’ve used multiple sitters on Rover before, and she is in a league of her own. She went so far above and beyond—sending tons of photos and videos, keeping our home spotless, and even helping set up a water fountain and troubleshoot our cats’ picky eating habits. It’s clear she genuinely cares. Most importantly, she loved our cats like they were her own, and that meant everything to us. She was truly an angel and we feel incredibly fortunate to have had her. We will absolutely be using her again—she deserves every bit of recognition! Thank you so much Marie!!”

About: I have been taking care of my own dog and my friends dog for more than 4 years, I love walking around with pups and also taking dogs to hike and swim. I am now taking a break from my current IT job and have plenty of time every day to play with your 4 legs baby. “Ryleigh took such great care of Ruby and was great about sending multiple pictures every day while I was gone. This is the second I’ve worked with Ryleigh and I’ll definitely have her stay with Ruby again in the future.”

“Peter really helped us out in a pinch! We were going out of town and Momo wasn’t able to go to her usual daycare, so Peter stayed with her in our home. This was her first experience staying at home without us and she was definitely anxious and skittish the first day. But Peter was very sweet and patient with her. He took things slowly in order to get Momo comfortable with him. He sent lots of updates and pictures, which really put us at ease. He took her on daily walks, played with her, made sure she took her medication, and took such good care of her. Momo was in great hands and we can’t recommend Peter enough!”

“Jenny is a trusted, responsible and caring Pet/House sitting professional. We have come to rely on and appreciate her so much when travel takes us away from our two four-legged family members. We couldn't recommend her more!!”
“Our family needed Jacob during a very difficult time. Jacob was kind, prompt, and immediately hit it off with our girls (Bear and Tookie). He was available to provide last minute care for our fur babies and sent updates daily on their well-being. We will definitely utilize Jacob‘s services in the future. He comes highly recommended by all our family members!”

“We all loved Renata, especially my dog, Mango. He was so happy and relaxed when we came home. Totally different attitude then when we pick him up from the kennel. Renata was a great pet-sitter and we will definitely use her again. We especially appreciate her flexibility of also helping with our chickens.”

“Danny stepped in last minute while we had a failed sitter during our trip. Thank goodness for Danny! He sent us updates every day with our dogs and they seemed well cared for”

About: In my life I’ve taken care of 3 mid sized dogs as well as around 8 cats. I’m new to the profession pet sitting and care aside from friends and family but I know that for the rest of my life I want to spend time with our animal friends and learn more about them! I have full availability with scheduling. I have transportation to do in house visits but pickup and drop offs might get difficult depending on the size of your dog. I can make regular stops at your place to do check-ins/feedings/walks. I would be able to do longer visits if needed or even overnight if available.

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was a preteen, and they’ve always been a huge part of my life. I grew up with three large dogs and a cat, and today I’m a proud cat mom to my playful orange tabby, Mr. Binx. Over the years, I’ve cared for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. My experience includes energetic puppies who need plenty of exercise and patience, large and small breed dogs, as well as senior dogs who require consistent routines, early morning walks, and timely medication. I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions to ensure every pet stays happy, healthy, and on schedule. I’m equally experienced with cats, from shy or grumpy kitties who need a calm, gentle approach to affectionate companions who love attention. I’ve also cared for senior cats who require medication, regular litter box monitoring, and extra patience and comfort. I understand that every pet is unique, and I always take the time to learn their routine, personality, and needs. My goal is to make them feel safe, loved, and as comfortable as possible while you’re away—so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in caring, dependable hands. I currently have plenty of time and flexibility to dedicate to caring for your fur babies day or night. I’m looking forward to filling my days with extra cuddles, companionship, and providing loving care while you’re away! When caring for your pets in your home, I treat your space with the same respect and care I would want for my own. I have experience staying in other people’s homes for extended periods, including multiple weeks and over a month, while providing consistent and loving care for their pets. I come prepared with my own pillow, blanket, and meals so I can be fully self-sufficient while respecting your home. Before an extended stay, I would love to meet you and your pets at least twice to build trust, learn their routine, and understand their unique needs. I’m experienced with administering oral medications and caring for pets with additional needs. My goal is to keep your pets comfortable and stress-free by following their normal routine, providing regular updates, and giving them the same love and attention I give my own.
“Karl was wonderful! He left the house in amazing shape, and the dogs seem to have really taken to him. The photos and videos he sent were amazing, and he has a keen eye for photography. I highly recommend him and will be booking him again if he’s available”

“Sierra was perfect for my high-energy puppy. She completely understood how demanding a young dog can be, making sure he got plenty of exercise and playtime. The photo updates she sent were fantastic and so fun to receive. I came home to a spotless house and a very tired, happy dog. Highly, highly recommend her to anyone!”

About: Hi, I’m Alyssa! I’ve been house sitting and caring for pets for years, and there’s nothing I love more than making sure animals feel safe, happy, and loved while their families are away. As a veterinary assistant, I bring both professional knowledge and hands on experience to every pet I care for. I’ve worked with animals of all kinds, whether your pet has four legs, feathers, scales, or tiny paws, I’m comfortable providing attentive, compassionate care that’s tailored to their individual needs. I understand that every animal has their own personality and routine, and I strive to make your time away as stress free as possible for both you and your pets. Whether it’s daily walks, administering medications, caring for farm animals, or simply giving plenty of love and attention, I’ll treat your pets as if they were my own. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family! I do work full time, however I am willing to dedicate all of my time outside of work to your pets while you are away! I will follow whatever saftey measures you follow with your babies. I can safely navigate a flight risk pup or kitty. I am also comfortable with mild aggressive/snappy animals. I just want you to feel as little stress as possible while your babies are under my care!
“Kat is amazing, she took great care of the beasts and my home. She updates regularly without me needing to check in, which is great cuz I worry a bit but also don’t want to be a bother. One of my dogs has pretty bad separation anxiety so coming home to see both dogs calm and happy with her was fantastic! 10 outta 10, will be using again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 4,463 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Chapman Landing. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chapman Landing walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chapman Landing maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chapman Landing choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chapman Landing. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
