Carnella did a wonderful job caring for our three young cats. One of them is scared of new people but she managed to engage him and make him feel comfortable. She was respectful of our home and everything was tidy and as we asked when we arrived home. Our cats clearly had received a lot of attention while we were away, they were happy and frisky on our return. Carmella followed our instructions carefully and treated our animals very well; we recommend her without hesitation. This was our first time asking Carmella to cat sit in our home and we look forward to having her back in future.

Alex did a great job watching our home, one active black lab, and two cats. I accidentally booked her for one day longer than needed and she was gracious about my error. She lives close by and we will use her again.

About: I grew up with taking care of our family pets since the age of 3. Growing up we had dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens, rabbits and a pet raccoon that I was in charge of. My job was to feed, clean, walk, brush and just plain love on them. I know how to tend to horses, goats, dogs and other critters that may have an attitude. I will do it in a loving manner though. I will treat your pet as if it were my own. No matter the breed, size or animal I can take care of your family pets. I can do stall clean outs, cage cleanouts, feeding/watering, brushing, milking, riding, walking, cleaning up after. Give me a call or text to help you with your furry family members.

About: Hiya! I’m the quiet attentive home you’ve been searching for—whether for a puppy, a senior dog who requires medications, or a fearful pup who needs peace, or reassurance during the workday. I’m home full-time and have been a certified veterinary technician since 2009, with 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine, behavior, and humane reward based training. I also hold a certification as a Fear Free Practitioner and a Animal Reiki practitioner. I keep my home peaceful and serene, so I only host one dog at a time to ensure individualized care and attention. The needs of those under my care are prioritized. I will do my best to accommodate your pets schedules needs. Just let me know how to help! The pets that I keep in my home are prioritized, while your baby is under my care they are treated like my own! Bring whatever makes them feel more cozy

About: Certified dog trainer and behaviorist. Pet CPR certified Medication dispensing knowledge Grooming knowledge I own a 2 year old Goldendoodle, Winnie. I raised her while going to school for my certification from 12 weeks old. I practice positive reinforcement with balanced training. We work hard and play harder, and love an active lifestyle. I’m a stay-at-home mom and I intentionally keep my schedule open so I can provide consistent, attentive care. I enjoy staying busy and working with animals daily. Available 7 days a week, typically 9am–9pm. Weekend availability varies based on client needs. Animals in my care are treated like family, but with structure. I provide clear boundaries, routine, and guidance so pets feel secure and understood. Pets are given time to play, eat, potty, train, and rest. I incorporate basic manners and calm behavior into daily care so they’re not just being watched—they’re learning. I have a young child in the home, so I need to know ahead of time if a pet is sensitive or reactive around children. Requirements: Up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies) No intact dogs over 2 years old Must be safe to handle in a home environment I also use long leads when appropriate to safely allow freedom while maintaining control, which is helpful for recall and behavior work.

I honestly can’t say enough amazing things about Marie!! We’ve used multiple sitters on Rover before, and she is in a league of her own. She went so far above and beyond—sending tons of photos and videos, keeping our home spotless, and even helping set up a water fountain and troubleshoot our cats’ picky eating habits. It’s clear she genuinely cares. Most importantly, she loved our cats like they were her own, and that meant everything to us. She was truly an angel and we feel incredibly fortunate to have had her. We will absolutely be using her again—she deserves every bit of recognition! Thank you so much Marie!!

Peter really helped us out in a pinch! We were going out of town and Momo wasn’t able to go to her usual daycare, so Peter stayed with her in our home. This was her first experience staying at home without us and she was definitely anxious and skittish the first day. But Peter was very sweet and patient with her. He took things slowly in order to get Momo comfortable with him. He sent lots of updates and pictures, which really put us at ease. He took her on daily walks, played with her, made sure she took her medication, and took such good care of her. Momo was in great hands and we can’t recommend Peter enough!

Sierra was perfect for my high-energy puppy. She completely understood how demanding a young dog can be, making sure he got plenty of exercise and playtime. The photo updates she sent were fantastic and so fun to receive. I came home to a spotless house and a very tired, happy dog. Highly, highly recommend her to anyone!

I just moved back to Portland and was looking for a house sitter for my sweet little old lady, Pearl, and had a few upcoming trips planned. Danny was very communicative, always prompt and was more than willing to help with an unexpected medical need. Pearl was well taken care of and I'll happily work with Danny again.

Kat is amazing, she took great care of the beasts and my home. She updates regularly without me needing to check in, which is great cuz I worry a bit but also don’t want to be a bother. One of my dogs has pretty bad separation anxiety so coming home to see both dogs calm and happy with her was fantastic! 10 outta 10, will be using again.

Maria was amazing. I have never felt so much at ease leaving our boys with anyone before. She sent the cutest videos and photos of them together. They seemed very happy and bonded with her. Not only was she wonderful and caring with our dogs, but she's also a wonderful human. She was great to communicate with and left our home so clean and well cared for. We will definitely book another stay, knowing how loved and cared for our little guys were with her. Brooklyn did a fantastic job watching our two morkies over a weekend period. We especially appreciated her proactive style of communication, her calm when dealing with any issues, and of course all the pictures of our pups throughout the day while we were away. Would definitely recommend her services and book with her again. Thanks Brooklyn!

Shelby did great and provided pictures of our dogs daily so that we could see how they were doing. We were nervous about having a stranger in our home, and were new to having a pet sitter. We usually have had family or have done a boarding facility, but with a cranky, older dog a boarding facility was not an option when going away for a family wedding destination. Shelby was very understanding and willing to work with us so that we felt comfortable while away. I would highly recommend her. When we booked her months ago we had to estimate our arrival time back home for the Rover app, but when coming home after driving for 13 hours the time I put was the last thing I was thinking about. We pretty much arrived hours earlier than she expected and unannounced. Our home was pretty much how we left it and she was just chilling with the dogs, which she didn’t necessarily have to be doing as our contract allowed for her not to stay the night and to leave for periods of time. One concern we had is would our dogs really be looked after, or would a person say they would but then not. I can safely say Shelby was here, took care of our pets, and treated our home with care.

FAQs for House Sitting - McNulty

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 4,243 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across McNulty. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred McNulty walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in McNulty maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in McNulty choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in McNulty. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
