About: I’ve been pet/housesitting for the majority of my life! Growing up I was relied on heavily by many. I was consistently approached by family, friends, and neighbors. There were quite a few people that had me as their go-to whenever they needed the help and I made a strong connection with. I always get excited when people ask me to petsit for them! On top of that, I’ve done a lot of volunteer work at animal shelters, including dog walking, cleaning, and playing. I’m currently a SPED Educational Assistant, 8am-3:30pm every weekday at a school in Portland. Anytime around that I am free and willing, but I understand if that is too large a gap in the days as far as house sitting goes. Otherwise, my weekends are entirely free, as well as my summer break! I will accommodate to whatever needs must be met for your pet! I want to make sure your fur baby is completely safe, comfortable and happy with me. I am very active so I have no issues getting your fur babies out for a leisurely walk. The environment will be your home, or your preferred Dog walking route. Shelby did great and provided pictures of our dogs daily so that we could see how they were doing. We were nervous about having a stranger in our home, and were new to having a pet sitter. We usually have had family or have done a boarding facility, but with a cranky, older dog a boarding facility was not an option when going away for a family wedding destination. Shelby was very understanding and willing to work with us so that we felt comfortable while away. I would highly recommend her. When we booked her months ago we had to estimate our arrival time back home for the Rover app, but when coming home after driving for 13 hours the time I put was the last thing I was thinking about. We pretty much arrived hours earlier than she expected and unannounced. Our home was pretty much how we left it and she was just chilling with the dogs, which she didn’t necessarily have to be doing as our contract allowed for her not to stay the night and to leave for periods of time. One concern we had is would our dogs really be looked after, or would a person say they would but then not. I can safely say Shelby was here, took care of our pets, and treated our home with care.
