“Alex did a great job watching our home, one active black lab, and two cats. I accidentally booked her for one day longer than needed and she was gracious about my error. She lives close by and we will use her again.”

“Karl was wonderful! He left the house in amazing shape, and the dogs seem to have really taken to him. The photos and videos he sent were amazing, and he has a keen eye for photography. I highly recommend him and will be booking him again if he’s available”

About: I grew up with taking care of our family pets since the age of 3. Growing up we had dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens, rabbits and a pet raccoon that I was in charge of. My job was to feed, clean, walk, brush and just plain love on them. I know how to tend to horses, goats, dogs and other critters that may have an attitude. I will do it in a loving manner though. I will treat your pet as if it were my own. No matter the breed, size or animal I can take care of your family pets. I can do stall clean outs, cage cleanouts, feeding/watering, brushing, milking, riding, walking, cleaning up after. Give me a call or text to help you with your furry family members.

“I was worried about leaving my cat for the first time, but Erin took great care of him! I received regular updates and pictures, and the apartment was spotless. Thank you so much ☺️”

“Debbie was great. She handled everything professionally, asked great questions, and even had some suggestions. Good communication leading up to and during our trip. We would use her again.”

“I honestly can’t say enough amazing things about Marie!! We’ve used multiple sitters on Rover before, and she is in a league of her own. She went so far above and beyond—sending tons of photos and videos, keeping our home spotless, and even helping set up a water fountain and troubleshoot our cats’ picky eating habits. It’s clear she genuinely cares. Most importantly, she loved our cats like they were her own, and that meant everything to us. She was truly an angel and we feel incredibly fortunate to have had her. We will absolutely be using her again—she deserves every bit of recognition! Thank you so much Marie!!”

“Couldn’t be more pleased with Peter! He arrived early, kept me updated with pictures throughout his stay and took great care of Sunny! Will definitely book again and highly recommend.”

“Sierra was perfect for my high-energy puppy. She completely understood how demanding a young dog can be, making sure he got plenty of exercise and playtime. The photo updates she sent were fantastic and so fun to receive. I came home to a spotless house and a very tired, happy dog. Highly, highly recommend her to anyone!”

About: I’ve had my own personal pets all my life and believe pets are family and treat them as such. I have also take care of friends, and family pets as well. Just did house sitting with 2 Australian cattle dogs, 2 cats and 6 chickens. Currently, I do not have any pets of my own as I lost my 2 Boston terriers last year. I love animals and anyone who knows me knows me, knows this about me. I work from home full-time and I can work from anywhere that has internet. I just bring my laptop and I’m able to care for your fur kids all day :) I am especially good at cuddles all day, walks, and feeding/playing with your fur kids. My motto is animals are better than humans because they are. I love them!

“Makenna did an excellent job taking care of my Cavalier King Charles spaniel, who is a one person devoted dog (to me), and is therefore, heart-broken when I leave her. She gave her plenty of walks, and took her with when she would be gone longer periods of time so she would not be lonely! The house was just as I left it and she was very responsible. It was a pleasure to come home to zero issues. I would hire Mckenna again for Lucy for certain!”

“Jenny stayed with our dog Oliver and cat Ringo over Memorial Day weekend. We had met with her a couple weeks earlier just to get to know her and were instantly impressed. She is very personable and was immediately at ease with our dog Oliver which we loved. We had a great conversation and talked about some of the difficult things with our pets and she didn’t have any issues. Jenny has a little more life under her belt (unlike some of our past Pet sitter’s) so we felt very comfortable leaving her at the house, able to handle unforecast things that might come up. I’m not saying she’s old, ha ha. Just saying it’s nice to have someone a little more mature watching our house and pets. Jenny was very communicative when we were on our trip. We got photos and videos daily and updates on how they were doing. My dog didn’t even look like he was missing us.She took him for daily walks and watered some of our outdoor plants as it was warm. When we returned, the house looked better than when we left it. Thank you so much for that! We will definitely use Jenny in the future. I’m actually hesitant to write this review because I don’t want her to get more popular than she already is! Good pet/house sitters are so hard to come by. Thank you again Jenny, Eric and Julie”

“I just moved back to Portland and was looking for a house sitter for my sweet little old lady, Pearl, and had a few upcoming trips planned. Danny was very communicative, always prompt and was more than willing to help with an unexpected medical need. Pearl was well taken care of and I'll happily work with Danny again.”

“Kat is amazing, she took great care of the beasts and my home. She updates regularly without me needing to check in, which is great cuz I worry a bit but also don’t want to be a bother. One of my dogs has pretty bad separation anxiety so coming home to see both dogs calm and happy with her was fantastic! 10 outta 10, will be using again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Warren
Shelby did great and provided pictures of our dogs daily so that we could see how they were doing. We were nervous about having a stranger in our home, and were new to having a pet sitter. We usually have had family or have done a boarding facility, but with a cranky, older dog a boarding facility was not an option when going away for a family wedding destination. Shelby was very understanding and willing to work with us so that we felt comfortable while away. I would highly recommend her. When we booked her months ago we had to estimate our arrival time back home for the Rover app, but when coming home after driving for 13 hours the time I put was the last thing I was thinking about. We pretty much arrived hours earlier than she expected and unannounced. Our home was pretty much how we left it and she was just chilling with the dogs, which she didn’t necessarily have to be doing as our contract allowed for her not to stay the night and to leave for periods of time. One concern we had is would our dogs really be looked after, or would a person say they would but then not. I can safely say Shelby was here, took care of our pets, and treated our home with care.

FAQs for House Sitting - Warren
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 4,335 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Warren. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Warren walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Warren maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Warren choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Warren. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
