About: I co-owned two dogs with my neighbor as a child. My jobs was to walk and feed them. The first was a Saint Bernard who "decided" he wanted more space and fresh air and moved to the country. Later came a Golden lab. Then, we had milking goats, chickens, emus and rabbits... I have 2 cats I love dearly. They love walking around the yard showing me their favorite finds; usually it's a whole of some kind. I walk a lot on my own a Marin and can talk your furry well-behaved pet around your neighborhood and beyond. I am very dependable, always on time (unless major accident happens) and love all furry friends like my own pets. Available most days and/or week-ends between 8 AM and 9 PM for in home visits or dog or cat walking. Some cats like to go on walks too! Safety and the good physical and emotional health of your pet(s) are my priority. I will follow your health guidelines carefully and provide clean water upon each visit.

About: A little about me: I'm a lifelong critter lover - dogs, cats, rats - you name it, I love it. For 4+ years, I ran with dogs at an animal shelter in Chicago (PAWS, for those who are familiar), allowing me to work with dogs with all types of breeds and temperaments from nervous, anxious dogs, to high-energy assertive dogs. I'm a careful observer around any new animal (particularly dogs), making sure I understand their personality, comfort level, and needs. Most of my time is spent walking, hiking, or running with best friend and roommate of 2+ years, Fennec. I adopted him from a border collie rescue to be my running companion and since then, has humbled me (daily) with his endless enthusiasm and energy. He's the bestest boy. What to expect dog-sitting or walking: My approach will be to make your dog comfortable, happy, and fulfilled. In our initial meeting, I'll ask a ton of questions to understand your dogs likes, dislikes, schedule, and personality. Then, I'll make sure to fill in where I'm needed (couch cuddles, play time, sniffy walks, etc.) - giving your loved one (your dog), a great experience while giving you peace of mind. Afterwards, you can expect pictures and a quick summary, so you know exactly how the visit / walk went. If a walk isn't enough for your dog, consider this: I own a border collie, so I know how hard (i.e., impossible) it is tire out a high-energy dog. If your dog is like mine and needs WAY more than a walk (or three), let me take them on a run at their distance, at their pace. I'll just ask that you have the proper equipment (harness, leash) for your pup and I've got the rest. If you’d like me to run with your pup, select dog walking services and note you’d like a run. Note that running is a flat $5 surcharge (for either a 30 or 60-minute run). If your dog is friendly / likes other pups, I'll bring Fennec along too. #packrun Pet care fits right into my day to day right now. I'm currently taking a break from work, so I've got a lot of flexibility with my schedule and can work around whatever days and times suit you and your dog best. I tailor my approach to each dog and each owner. Before anything starts, I like to get a sense of your dog's routine, habits, and preferences, along with any specific instructions you have, and I'll work around all of that. Whether it's a walk, a run, or sitting in your home, my goal is to keep things as close to your dog's normal routine as possible so they feel comfortable and cared for the whole time.
“Ariela was so communicative and easy to work with! We will definitely book her again. She was very responsive and was flexible with meet and greets. She is reliable, flexible, and has a warm energy.”

About: I grew up with dogs and I’ve been a dog owner most of my adult life. I’ve also been a dog owner from the puppy age of eight weeks all the way through mature life. I can take care of other pets as well, and I can be available for dog boarding, dog sitting, dog walks, and other pet care during your weekends and travels. I am a part-time parent and establishing this as additional income since I am a single income household in Marin county. I am available for dog walking and boarding on alternating weekends, and during periods of your travels when I am in town. I am an outdoors woman, and will get pets outside and active regularly. I know several local dog parks and dog-friendly trails since I’ve been a dog owner myself for years (I no longer have a dog as of early 2025). I have a fenced front and backyard. I can house a pet with all of your personal items for the pet anywhere in my home, and I can provide highly personalized care since I live alone (part time parent with alternating weekends on my own).

About: I am a Biology student at UCSC, and I want to become a veterinarian in the future. I am participating in the Pupcycle Club, which is a foundation that recycles old clothes to make dog toys for dogs in animal shelters in Santa Cruz. I also participate in the UCSC Vet Club, which is student-run, where we learn more about the care of animals and the steps it takes to become vets. I'm bilingual, able to speak in Spanish and English. I am a student at UCSC; however, I'm in Marin over the summer for a long period of time, from early June through late September, where I'm mainly focusing on volunteer opportunities, learning opportunities, and being able to care for other animals. With a free and flexible schedule, I am able to care for pets for short or long periods of time, working at your schedule. I will make sure your home stays clean and safe while caring for and providing time to your pets. I will respect your home and the environment your pets live in. I will provide my whole attention and focus on taking care of your pets and giving them the attention they deserve.
About: Hello! My name is Karissa and I am a big animal lover. I've had dogs and cats my whole life, and have always enjoyed spending time with and caring for them. I have trained and competed in agility with my Australian shepherds, and I have worked with and trained dogs of all ages. I have also cared for and loved many cats (both my own and for clients and friends). When I played varsity polo for Virginia Tech, my team was charge of all aspects of care for our 16 horses during the school year. I have ridden and cared for over 100 horses since I was young. Through these experiences, I have administered medications, handled behavioral issues, fed a variety of foods, and cared for and diagnosed illnesses and injuries. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, cared for, and loved while their favorite people are away. Your pet should feel like they are on vacation too! I am available and excited to care for your pets on any schedule that works best for them! My schedule is quite flexible right now. Because I offer care in your home, I strive to ensure that you and your pets feel safe, respected, and cared for. I emphasize safety, privacy, cleanliness, and happy animals. Especially with the temporary change in caregiver, I believe it is extremely important to maintain the routine your pets are used to while you are away, with maybe a couple extra treats (with permission, of course) :) Above all, I adhere to the care rules and instructions given to me, because you know your pets better than anyone.
“Samuel was incredibly easy to communicate with and was able to help with a very last minute request to watch our dog Steve! He took very good care of him, sent lots of photos and went over and above to make sure that he got the exercise and attention that he needed! Thank you Samuel!”
About: Dogs have been my one constant companion since I was born. Our little family joined Rover in 2017 as clients for our gorgeous cream golden retriever, who passed away at 14 from old age, and we started sitting in late 2019. We now have a 3-year-old cheeky Irish Setter. We are a family offering your dog a family life while you are away. We are not a professional dog kennel, we do not use crates or cages, and we do not leave dogs outside after dusk. Also, please note that we cannot take dogs with contagious conditions. The dogs usually go on about 3 to 4 walks and errands a day and stay with us at home, where they can access a fenced garden. I work from home, so your pet will not be alone. We offer treats (you will provide/ per your instructions), walkies, fun-filled days, tummy rubs, etc. Pets will sleep in the house in our living/kitchen area (I try to keep them out of the bedrooms). Walks are calibrated to the dogs' needs; we never push dogs, but most of the time, we provide them with more opportunities to go out than they may be used to. As a result of the increased activity and the stress of being away from you, especially the first time, they might seem a little tired and sleepy upon returning home, which is normal. Strict drop-off and pickup times: earliest: 6:30 AM, latest: 6:00 PM. Please do not book outside these hours (no exceptions). ALL Drop-off and pickup take place at Doc Edgar Park in Fairfax. Our small road ends in a trail (dead end); it is easier to meet at the park. Also, we do not allow clients on our property at present. We keep more than one dog at once. If your dog does not get along with other dogs, we are probably not the right sitters for you. For New Clients: meeting you and your dog before booking the stay is essential. We need to see if we are a good match. We offer free 30-minute preliminary meetings during the week only. Due to our insurance, we no longer take: Rottweilers, Pitbulls, American Bullies, Great Danes, Staffordshire Terriers, or mixed breeds, including any of the above, Chihuahuas, French Bulldogs, Bulldogs, or any dogs showing aggressiveness, and we cannot take dogs with contagious illnesses (Kennel cough or intestinal parasites). Puppies: need to be fully vaccinated, and the vet must approve taking them to a dog park. Unfortunately, we cannot accept puppies on heat. Please understand that we are not responsible for any items you bring with your dog (bed, crate, soft toy, etc). These items may be damaged, buried, or torn during the stay as dogs play with each other, especially puppies. LOGISTICS - FEES - CANCELLATION - POLICY - BOARDING IS PER 24-HR Periods. For example, if you drop off the dog at 9 AM on day one but pick it up at 5 PM on pickup day, I will add a daycare fee. We do not charge per hour. The Rover app lets you enter any time in your initial booking request and does its own calculations, but it is up to the sitter to specify and apply their rates and procedures. PAYMENTS - Payments must be made through Rover; we do NOT accept cash or any other form of payment. - I do not control how visible Rover makes the rates or cancellation policy on their website; I do not control their terms either - please get in touch with them directly for any payment-related or lack of clarity regarding their terms. - Rates: Please check the rates; they are different if you book for a holiday or a puppy CANCELLATION POLICY - Details of the Rover Seven Days Policy - I do not control the wording or updates to the policy (by calling Rover) OVERNIGHT KIT REQUIRED - FOOD: Please measure the amount of food the dog needs for the stay and for one or two more days (just in case). WE NO LONGER TAKE WHOLE FOOD BAGS OR TUBS. At drop-off, you will be asked to measure the food if it has not already been calculated. - No bowls needed – we use stainless steel bowls and labyrinth stainless steel for those fast eaters – no plastic - No beds needed – we have beds with removable covers that we wash between dogs TOYS: We can NO LONGER ACCEPT toys - We do not take responsibility for toys when dogs play together; toys may be destroyed, lost, or mixed up on pickup day. CRATES: Up to you - We do not have any. COMMUNICATIONS - I take photos of your dog and send them to you. I cannot control service connection or download times, and we might be on a trail with limited receptioso n, photos might be delayed. - I answer inquiries (change in drop off pick up, new requests, etc.) as best I can between 8 AM and 6 PM during workdays and more sporadically at weekends (I am usually out with the dogs in places where the connection may vary). I do NOT provide a summary of everything your dog did each day; the photos are the vehicle to communicate how your dog is doing. I only reach out if I have a question (running low on food) or if it is an emergency. Pet Care – SHAMPOOS: We are not a salon; we are not equipped to pamper your pet. We love dogs, and dogs love to run in the grass, in the rivers, on the beach, and often in the mud. Very few dogs like tarmac. We clean their paws, but if you want a squeaky-clean, fragrant dog, please book an extra cleaning service with your usual pet salon for the pickup day. Should we have to wash your dog due to excessive dirt or extended stays, we would use Burt's Bees for Puppies Tearless Shampoo for puppies or Burt's Bees Hypoallergenic Shampoo for adult dogs. You must list any known medical issues on your dog's profile, including allergies, and let us know if your dog has any known allergies and/or if you have a specific shampoo you use; please bring it. Your dog must be tick-treated. We walk on trails, and there are lots of deer and ticks around. I tried to cover everything, but if I forgot anything, don't hesitate to ask when we meet! We look forward to meeting you and your furry friends! Working from home, we provide several walks daily. Max time on their own would be a couple of hours. All details of our day will be discussed during the preliminary meeting. We have a fenced garden and a cosy home; dogs enjoy both; we do not use kennels, and dogs are always inside after dark. Usually, they like to stretch under my desk after a long walk or listen to my son playing the violin.

“Thomas is super reliable and flexible with our last minute walk requests! He’s clearly a natural with dogs — our 75lb chocolate lab loves him and comes home happy and ready for nap.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Fairfax
Jesse's the absolute best dog walker! My Australian Shepherd Wonder loves him. In the past wonder has been reactive towards guys, but he loves Jesse and looks forward to weekly walks and occasional overnight boarding on the weekends. Jesse's super flexible and a great communicator, highly recommend him for your pup. Jesse tends to have a bunch of doggies around, so if your dog is social like mine, they'll make lots of new friends and have a blast hiking around Marin

Ariela was great on her walk with Grady! I needed a very last minute walk and she responded quickly and was even able to come over and do a meet and greet before the walk the next day. I felt very comfortable having her walk Grady—he can be a lot and she was very capable. I’ll definitely have her visit for future walks!

I highly recommend Lauryn for your pet sitting needs! She is reliable, on time and amazing with my 7 month old puppy. She took the time to learn about him and his needs and also sent me pictures and updates each time she walked him. We felt extremely comfortable and safe having her in our home. He was a happy boy when I got back home to him!

Jaimi and her daughter were amazing with my two dogs, Bumi and Lily. They took them on 30-minute walks to a dog play area, spent time playing with them, and even stayed longer to make sure both dogs were fully walked and able to use the bathroom. Communication was great throughout, and they were incredibly kind and attentive. Bumi and Lily were genuinely excited to see both Jaimi and her daughter, which says a lot. I’ll absolutely be booking them again for dog walking and pet care

Christopher walked our pups for two weeks while we were on vacation, and he was absolutely wonderful. He treated them with so much patience and kindness, even winning over our feisty girl who can be a bit of a challenge at first. We can tell our pups got their workout after walking with him! Christopher was always on time, dependable, and it was clear our dogs really enjoyed their time with him. We especially loved the thoughtful videos he sent—it was such a joy to see our pups happy and well cared for while we were away. We definitley recommend Christopher to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker.
