About: I recently had to say goodbye to my almost 17 year old min pin. Last year I lost my 15 year old mutt. I'm not ready for a new dog of my own yet but would love to help take care of yours! I live in the East End and would prefer to stay on this side of town. Very flexible schedule for dog walking and boarding. Available weekdays, weekends, and most holidays. Reliable, caring, and experienced—your pup’s comfort and safety are my priority! I have a fenced in back yard. There are no pets or children living in my home. I also live in a very dog friendly neighborhood.
“Riley was amazing! Our dog is old, has movement issues, and needs medication. She was so great with him! She gave wonderful updates, consistently, about our dog and cat. She sent pictures daily and was super responsive! She was absolutely great to work with, easy to communicate with, and made our vacation so relaxing because we knew our pets were taken care of so well, while we were away! Highly recommend her!”
About: 🐶 Having been surrounded by dogs my entire life, I’ve developed a deep understanding and appreciation for their care. Growing up with dogs and raising my own, Harlow 🐾, from a puppy, has given me firsthand experience in fostering their well-being. My passion for animals extends beyond personal experience—participation in clubs at the Pittsburgh Zoo 🦁 provided me with valuable insights into animal behavior and care, further enhancing my knowledge. Being from Pittsburgh, I am fluent with many resources for me to enjoy with pets. 🐕🦺 My pet care journey started in 2014 with my first job at a dog care store on Butler Street, where I honed my skills in providing attentive and compassionate care. During my internship with the Water Authority in Bradford, PA, I dedicated my lunch breaks to volunteering at the local SPCA 🏠, offering love and attention to animals in need. These experiences have shaped me into a dedicated, knowledgeable, and empathetic sitter. 💛 As an alumni M.S. engineering student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time to caring for my pets. I can easily fit dog walks, feeding, and playtime into my routine, ensuring each pet gets the attention it deserves. My love for animals and adaptable schedule make it easy to prioritize their well-being. I currently care for two dogs, my mother's and her boyfriend's, and have hands-on experience managing their daily needs. At home, I ensure a safe environment with our fenced-in yard and always prioritize the pets' well-being. For my clients' pets, I’m adaptable to their specific routines, whether that involves feeding, walks, playtime, or creating a comfortable space. Every pet in my care receives love and attention tailored to their unique needs.

“Ryan went above and beyond what was expected of him. He took excellent care of my two dogs and bonded very well with both of them. Will use him again without any hesitation. Thank you Ryan for taking such good care of them”

About: I've watched and walked friends and neighbors dogs since I was eleven years old. While my paid experience is currently minimal, my familiarity, energy, and reliability goes the extra mile. Whether you're short on time, heading on vacation, or not physically able to take your pup on the walk they need, I'm here to help. I've was also lucky enough to have a sassy silver tabby cat of my own for 17 years. I adore cats and would gladly sit for them as well. I'm currently in-between jobs, focusing on a passion project so I have plenty for time and flexibility to look after your pet's needs. I am not currently available to board in my home as my lease does not allow pets, but I'd gladly look after them in your home once we've established trust between us and your pets.
“Roman did such a great job caring for our pups. He was detailed in his notes and took great pictures. We felt great leaving Fred and George in his care! Will book again”

“Yasmeen is adaptable and considerate when unexpected issues pop up. It's hard to leave your furry friend behind, but knowing they're in such good hands makes it a little easier. I cannot thank her enough for the care she shows for my scaredy cat.”

“Caroline was fantastic and took great care of our Lottie dog. She was super communicative and thorough with her check ins, and made sure Lottie had fresh water and plenty of walks, treats, and love. She sent lots of pics and we were reassured knowing Lottie was getting great care while we were away. We will definitely use Caroline and Will again!”

“Thanks to Kira, my new kitten was able to have socialization and not be lonely while I was on holiday. Kira was very sweet with Tinkerbell and was kind enough to send me pics every visit. Kira was consistent in her responsibilities and communication. I would absolutely hire her again and highly recommend her to others.”

“Isabella was wonderful with Daisy. She sent updates and pics and I was so happy to see how great Daisy was doing while I was away. Daisy was well cared for and I will absolutely continue to hire Isabella for future visits.”

About: I’ve loved, cared for and had my own pets since childhood. From cats and pups to bunnies and a hedgehog! Would love to meet your furry family member! I’m currently working part time and have shared custody of my kiddos. Mostly available weekends but can make weekdays work as well if known in advance I will take care of your furry family member as if they were my own! I love animals of all species and breeds. Will respect your home and your preferences for how your pet is cared for
“Kat has been so friendly and kind to our dog Angus. Angus lost his two brother cocker spaniels in the past 1-1/2 years and is very nervous about being alone, and Kat helped him relax and enjoy his time with her during her visit.”

“Devin took excellent care of our cat when we were away! He provided timely updates and pictures and was respectful of our apartment. We would definitely hire him again!”

About: I have a deep love for animals especially since I have a 10 year old schnauzer back home in Florida who I miss every day. Being around pets again brings me joy and comfort, and I always strive to give that same feeling back to the animals I care for. I treat every dog like my own; with love, patience, and attention to their unique needs. I also genuinely enjoy walking outdoors, so your pup will always get the exercise and fresh air they deserve. Whether it’s energetic playtime or gentle care for seniors, I’m here to make them feel safe, happy, and loved. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine! I love going on walks every day, especially in the spring/ summertime. So taking dogs along just makes those moments even better. Since I work as a competitive gymnastics coach in the evenings, my mornings and afternoons are wide open for drop-ins, walks, and quality time with pets. It’s the perfect balance of movement, fresh air, and furry companionship! Whether I’m caring for pets in my client’s home or dropping in for a visit, I focus on making pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I take time to bond with each pet through play, cuddles, or just calm companionship. I treat every home with respect and every pet like family, always making sure they’re happy, exercised, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: I’ve taken care of neighborhood dogs and cats since I was 12. In May of 2020, I got my first puppy and crate-trained and have taken care of her since. I love cats and dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities! I am currently working for the city government, so I have a very reliable 9-5 schedule. I am largely free outside of that and can’t wait to spend time with your pets! I currently do not offer services in my home. In your home, I am happy to take care of your pet in any way they need!
“Milica was awesome. I needed a last-minute sitter, and she was very flexible and communicative. Thank you so much for taking great care of Cowboy. Highly recommend :)”

About: I’ve always grown up around dogs of all kinds. Since graduating from Pitt, I have been volunteering at the humane animal rescue of pittsburgh as a dog walker. This position not only requires classroom training, but also real world experience handling dogs of all sorts with all kinds of backgrounds. Although my busy schedule does not allow me to have a dog if my own, I’d love to care for yours! I have a relatively busy schedule that can change at any time, but dog walking, cat sitting, or drop in visits in my free time help me stay active and present. I am able to work from home Monday and Friday which allows me the flexibility to drop in and say hi to your animal when needed. I also waitress in the morning on some weekends, leaving my afternoons free. If not though, I’m an early riser and love going for morning walks! My schedule, although sometimes chaotic, allows me to be flexible on same day or short notice reservations. I have lots of experience with animals meeting strangers and I feel confident on reading animal body language and comfort levels. My training from working at the humane animal society prepares me for several common and uncommon interactions between humans and other animals. At home I have one kitty who prefers her own space so I understand shy animals and their needs. Growing up I lived with both cats and dogs so handling multiple animal interactions is not an issue if needed.

Cam was wonderful with my household of elderly men. Very good with communication and reaching out with any questions especially because my babies have some silly personality and quirks. I really appreciate that they reached out to check in, and kept me up to date on how they were doing while we were away.

Heather is very patient and considered all the instructions we had for her thoughtfully. Our dog needs some time to warm up to strangers and Heather accommodated for that. We went for a couple of walks together and had her over as well before we booked our first check-in. Now our dog is starting to get happily excited when he sees her. She's easy to communicate with and we're very happy with how everything went. Looking forward to booking her services again!

Adrienne is the best! She was superb with our young puppy, communicated really well, was very flexible, and super friendly. She was a lifesaver when we needed last-minute care for our puppy and gave me so much peace of mind. She also sent many great pictures and videos. I would definitely ask her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Etna with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
