About: I’ve taken care of animals for many years. Neighbors, family and friends all call on and refer me out. I love dogs and cats of all kinds. Young or old, from walks, to lodging, I can do it all! My job is flexible and I am happy to work wherever is needed! I will work with you on timing, needs, etc to maintain your pets schedule as efficiently as possible. I have a fenced backyard and an incredible friendly bernedoodle. I am happy to work on basic training with your pet in addition to play time with the pups.
“Mandi was a delight to work with! She promptly scheduled a meet and greet, and seemed so knowledgeable and confident. The sitting went smoothly with regular updates from her and the house was pristine condition and our dog happy when we got back. We already scheduled her for another sitting!”

“Nadine was amazing! She was extremely reliable and communicative. She was our first hire from Rover so we were a little unsure about the process but Nadine made it seamless and easy. She sent us pictures and videos almost daily which we loved! Highly recommend!”

“We cannot say enough amazing things about Cheyenne. From the moment she stayed in our home with Halo and Jack, we knew they were in the absolute best hands possible. She cared for them like they were her own, and the love our pets have for her is undeniable. Halo especially absolutely adores her — and somehow, within just two days, she taught him things we’ve been trying to teach him for years! Cheyenne is everything you could ever hope for in a pet sitter: kind, respectful, trustworthy, responsible, attentive, and genuinely passionate about animals. It gave us such peace of mind knowing our home and our babies were being cared for by someone with such a calm, loving, and professional presence. When we came home, not only were Halo and Jack happy and relaxed, but our home was perfectly cared for as well. That level of trust is priceless, and we truly trust Cheyenne completely. If you are looking for someone who will love your pets as much as you do, look no further. Cheyenne is an absolute gem, and we are beyond grateful to have found her. We honestly cannot imagine using anyone else moving forward.”

“Maira was a godsend and watched our little 10 week old puppy while we went to dinner. She arrived timely, communicated throughout the evening and worked on short notice. I’d definitely book her again when I come back to the Las Vegas area.”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have cared for every kind of personality from playful puppies to slow moving seniors. I’m currently a dog mom to Sunni and Cher, my five year old duo. Before them, I raised Roxy and Lily from puppyhood all the way into their senior years, and Roxy lived to 17. Friends and family have always trusted me to walk, feed, and look after their pets, and I take that responsibility seriously. I work full time as a nurse, so I offer pet care on Wednesdays and weekends. Those days are completely open for walks and drop ins, and I’m reliable with scheduling and communication. Services Explained: Dog Walks A neighborhood exercise walk and potty break. Perfect for mid-day exercise while you’re at work. Drop-In Visits A 30-minute visit for feeding, potty breaks, litter box care, and playtime. House Sitting Overnight care in your home so your pets can stay comfortable in their own environment while you travel. When I’m caring for someone else’s pet, I treat their home and their routine with the same respect I expect for my own. I pay close attention to feeding instructions, meds if needed, and any quirks the pet might have. I’m big on safety—locked doors, leashes clipped, and keeping a close eye on the pet at all times. My goal is to make sure your dog feels comfortable, calm, and cared for while you’re away.
“Our three pups had a fantastic time. They were tended to and cared for with so much genuine attention and kindness we couldn’t have asked for a more stress-free experience while we were gone for the entire day! we received adorable videos and photos during the sitting and had a glowing report upon our return. Highly recommend and will absolutely be requesting them again!!! THANK YOU!!!!!! :))”

“Nina is a wonderful pup sitter/ house sitter. We have had had her watch our dogs and home a couple of times. She does a great job takes our babies, & takes them on walks. She leaves the house in meticulous condition. She even launders the sheets and towels that she used. She goes a step above what any other Rover or house Sitter has done in the past. We will pick her again when she is available!”

About: Hi! My name is Lea, and I'm a college student looking to earn extra income while doing something I enjoy caring for animals. I've helped care for my nana's dogs over the years and currently have a cat of my own. I pride myself on being responsible, dependable, and attentive to each pet's individual needs. Whether your pet enjoys playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply having someone keep them company, I'll make sure they feel safe and comfortable while you're away. I understand that pets are family, and I'll treat yours with the same care and respect that I give my own. I'm currently taking online summer classes, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets. I can provide regular walks, feedings, playtime, and lots of attention throughout the day. I love animals and enjoy making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. When caring for pets, I always follow the owner's instructions closely to make sure their pet's routine stays as consistent as possible. I make sure pets have fresh water, are fed on schedule, get plenty of exercise and playtime, and receive lots of attention and affection. When caring for pets in a client's home, I respect both the pet's routine and the owner's space, keeping everything clean and secure. My goal is to help pets feel comfortable, safe, and stress free while their family is away.
“Olivia took excellent care of my dog, my cat, and my sister's dog as well! She stayed in my home for a three day, two night petsitting request, and she took great care of my house & belongings as well. Olivia is very pleasant to be around, and the animals loved her. She'll provide plenty of cuddle time as well as play time, and she follows detailed instructions without issue. I'd certainly hire her again. Thank you!”

“Nicky is so loving to the pets. This time there was a mistake/misunderstanding about the timing and Nicky handled it kindly and professionally, and made sure to reassure me and apologize profusely. I will hire her again in the future.”

“Natalie did an amazing job. I have used a couple dog sitters from Rover and have to say she is the best. I’m very particular about who watches my 3 English Bulldogs. They can be quite high maintenance. She made me very comfortable with periodic check ins with photos of my fur babies. I would highly recommend her and can’t wait to use her services again.”
About: I have grown up with animals my whole life. Since I was a baby I have had dogs running around me and I have always been good with animals. They take a liking to me quickly and have adjusted to me fast. I work part time at a restaurant so I’ll have plenty of time after school to come by and take care of the animals you have and meet you and make sure you think I’m right to trust with your babies I can adjust to whatever schedule you have set for your dog. I can feed them what they need at your house make sure they stay comfortable in their own space.
About: Your dogs are my top priority. Anything else I need to do comes second to them. I have watched over my own dogs for 5 years! My family started with one and now we have 3. They all have different personality’s so I am equipped to care for your pets regardless of their personality’s types, sizes, and dietary needs. I will only schedule service when I know I can spend whatever amount of time needed with your pets. I want to make sure my schedule aligns with your dogs! At my home I walk my pets once a day. During the summer time I do this either early in the morning or late at night so their paws aren’t hurt by the hot ground. I feed them once in the morning and at night. I can adjust this depending on your dogs needs. I usually pick up all the poop in my backyard at the end of the day to avoid a buildup of waste in the backyard. I will do the same with your dogs, unless their needs are different. If that is the case I will accommodate your dogs needs.
“Mariah was awesome! I booked her to stay overnight and house sit while we went camping for the weekend and she was incredibly communicative and respectful of the space. She went out of her way to come out for a meet and greet before the sitting dates and made sure to follow all the instructions we left. I have a very active cat and she did a wonderful job playing with him and keeping the cats company. Everything she used in the house she cleaned and put back away, in fact I'm almost certain she left it cleaner than we did when we left haha. She was so awesome and I'm so glad we were able to hire Mariah for our weekend trip and will definitely be using her again in the future.”

“We have had several pet sitters and Valeria is by far the best one. Her attention to detail and instructions on care of Karma was perfect. We would highly recommend Valeria to anyone looking for a excellent caring pet sitter.”

About: My parents have always had a pet. I have been around my pets or friends' pets my entire life. Since 2013, I have had the privilege of being a private dog-sitter in the Ann Arbor, MI area. However, I have recently moved to Las Vegas, and I am looking to continue the rewarding job that is dog-sitting. I am comfortable walking and feeding your dog. Depending on the process, I can also give any prescribed medication. If you own more than one pet, I have plenty of experience with multi-pet households. I work from home, so I can be around as much as needed to ensure your loved one has a pleasant experience while you are away. Before booking, I always appreciate a meet and greet with you and your dog to help establish a bond with them. I take pride in my ability to bond with pets and follow any and all instructions left by owners. When you are away for whatever reason, you can trust that your pet is being taken care of in a loving, responsible manner. I work as an online tutor, so I can be at your home morning, afternoon, and evening. I can also set my schedule to allow for walks or breaks your dog needs and give them the attention they need throughout the day. Your dog's safety and your home's security are my top priorities. I will keep a watchful eye on your dog and follow any instructions you provide. I enjoy providing you regular updates on your dog. I can also only contact you in case of emergency and everything in between. I will clean up after myself and your dog and will do laundry if needed. I am a guest in your home, and I will treat it with respect and leave it as I found it.

About: Experience with senior dogs that need more special attention due to their diet and medication needs giving them plenty of exercise or playing going on walks and making sure that they get all the attention and love that fur babies need. Currently work part time and available after 2 PM on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Fully available Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. I will have plenty of time to take care of all pets needs whether it’s check-ins, housesitting, walks, feeding and even baths if needed. This all depends on clients wishes and what the fur babies need will be based off of clients comfortability with me being in their own space. My general rule is making sure I leave space(s) clean and respecting others homes and boundaries due to me being a guest and being respectful of property and the safety of pets and fur babies.
“Danica was super nice and very communicative. She did a great job careing for him, making sure he got his meds, and all his need where met and sent me daily updates and pictures.”

“Dawn was a wonderful dog and cat sitter. I had to leave unexpectedly at the last minute. To have a stranger in your home with your babies is very scary. She made me feel at ease and that they would be well taken care of so that I could be there with my mom who had emergency, life threatening surgery. She even trained the next sitter, as I was gone longer than expected. I would recommend Dawn as she loves animals and is a kind and compassionate person.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Erie
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,669 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Erie. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Erie walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Erie maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Erie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Erie. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
