“Rachel is amazing. She took great care of my Hobey who is a goldendoodle. I knew upon meeting her that she took this would be a great experience for Hobey. She provided videos throughout the day that showed Hobey playing with other dogs, doing tasks that would merit him a treat, and relaxing after some playtime in the backyard. It was nice to see the vids and to see him have a good time. I took him there 3 days in a row and each time he would get excited as we pulled up to her house which made me feel good. I could tell he had an active day when I picked him up cause we would get home and I would feed him and he would sleep for the rest of the night. I was only in Michigan for a week but I will be back to visit family and I will always use Rachel.”

About: Hello pet-lover! I am an experienced professional dog handler and trainer with space in my home to care for your family members who cannot accompany you while you're away. I am currently work a hybrid work schedule (some days I work from home, other days I am in the office); I have 5 years experience in a kennel environment and working with working/professional dogs, as well as dogs with behavioral issues; and training/showing/trialing my own companions - I have experience and titles with my dogs in obedience, agility, and nosework in both AKC and UKC and other venues. I focus on force-free training methods, while still making sure to ensure rules and boundaries in my household. As much as I love training, training is not offered as part of your stay. Your pets will be treated like my own while they stay with me. I have a fenced in yard and a playful pup who loves to meet new friends! I am set up for any scenario needed, and have crates for safety and feeding. If your dog isn't used to staying in a crate is reliable to be left alone, I have baby gates set up around the home to keep them out of places they shouldn't be.

“Tony greeted us while we were still in the driveway. We came in, and he took the food and bed. The other dogs were gated in the living room, and Digger went up to the gate. He didn't growl, which was good. I felt comfortable leaving him there. I got two pictures of him during his stay and a good report. I would definitely book with them again.”

We provide doggie treats, toys and if in case you didnt bring enough food we have extra food. But you are also welcome to bring anything of their staffs to make them feel comfortable/ at home. We also do 1 walk a day just for their exercise and we do every hour potty breaks. We have a private fenced backyard for your furr baby safety stay with us. We do watch & play with them outside at the backyard on their potty breaks so you don't have to worry.

About: ***Please let me know if your dog has a Barkside membership!*** My husband and I work from home and have very flexible schedules that allow us to be present with our pets during the day. In between play sessions, your dog will be able to relax and rest easily on a dog bed or on the couch with lots of blankets to snuggle in all while listening to calm noises especially curated for dogs. After their nap, they will wake up to a nice snack and stretch their legs outside via a walk, park or just lounging in the backyard. Water bowls are cleaned throughout the day and paws are wiped cleaned after coming in from outside. We have a bin of brand new dog toys from BarkBox for all sizes, ages and chew types. They can take them home or keep them here for their next visit! You are welcome to bring your treats if you prefer. Otherwise, we always keep treats and biscuits stocked up in a variety of flavors but all organic. You rest easy knowing that we are strictly a “Positive Reinforcement” household. We believe in rewarding good behavior and not disciplining bad behavior. We have an 11 year old cat that’s keeps to herself but are able to section the home off if your dog prefers. Our 5 year old pup, Arbor will be your dogs guide and best buddies throughout his/her stay. Arbor has mastered all basic and intermediate obedience training and practically grew up in dog parks. There are no kids in the home during the day and we ask for all pets to be picked up from daycare no later than 5pm. (Please inquire if you need additional flexibility) (While we do charge for pick ups, we are happy to drop your pup off at home within a 8 mile radius of our home.) Last minute requests can be considered, please contact me to inquire! I currently from home as a technology sales rep. When I am not working, I’m entertaining both my toddler and pets. I often have a decent amount of free time and dog sitting has been a great outlet for my dog to socialize and get some fun in! For repeat pets, I have noticed a big difference after a few days of adjusting. I think it’s important for pets to feel safe in whatever space they are in. A place to relax, to sleep, or to be alone. I have carefully arranged my home for my pets and child to be able to roam safely. This will be adjusted based on pet needs I am also a firm believer that proper obedience training is essential to keeping pets safe.
