About: What truly sets me apart is my professional background. As a special education teacher with seven years of experience in the classroom, patience, structure, and the ability to adapt to individual needs are woven into everything I do. I bring that exact same mindset to pet care. I understand that every animal learns and communicates differently, and I excel at reading body language and adjusting my approach to make sure every pet feels safe, understood, and comfortable. Alongside having pets my entire life, I have spent the last 8 years providing dedicated pet care for family members and neighbors. Because of my teaching background, I am highly reliable when it comes to maintaining strict daily routines. This makes me particularly well-equipped to handle the unique needs of different life stages: Senior Care: I am incredibly patient and comfortable maintaining the slow, gentle pacing and strict medication or dietary schedules that senior pets often require to thrive in their golden years. Puppy Care & Training: I thrive on consistency and positive reinforcement. I am highly capable of maintaining the firm but gentle boundaries, frequent potty breaks, and structured play that young pets need while they are still learning their manners. Whether your pet needs quiet, gentle companionship or structured, engaging play, I have the experience, reliability, and heart to provide care that is perfectly tailored to them. I believe in complete transparency regarding my schedule so you know exactly when your pet is receiving my undivided attention: Summer Hours (Now – August): I am currently working a shorter schedule and am fully available for walks, drop-ins, and playtime every day after 1:30 PM. Fall Hours (Starting in September): I will be working my regular full-time schedule until 4:00 PM. However, my evenings will be completely open and dedicated to after-work walks, dinner routines, and evening companionship! I look forward to meeting your best friend and providing them with the highest level of care! I know firsthand that leaving your furry family members can be stressful. My goal is to provide a safe, engaging, and loving environment so you can have complete peace of mind while you are away. I treat every animal in my care with the exact same affection and attentiveness I give my own. My Experience I have been surrounded by pets my entire life, which has given me a deep, intuitive understanding of the daily care, patience, and affection animals require. For the past 8 years, I have been the trusted, go-to pet sitter for my neighbors and extended family. This hands-on experience has taught me how to adapt to different temperaments, respect established household rules, and quickly recognize when a pet might be feeling anxious. As a special education teacher, patience, compassion, and structure are at the core of who I am—and I bring those same qualities into how I care for your pets.
“This is my second time booking Kimberly through Rover to take care of my kitty girl, Rizzo! She is very communicative and very nice. She does a great job with Rizzo, who is quite shy, yet seems to like Kimberly a lot! It won’t be last time booking with her as long as she is on Rover and available. :) thank you, again!! I felt at ease while away knowing she was in good hands”

I worked in The Casino business and while working there I fell back into dog care for co wokers who were working double shifts and then things took off from there while dog care walks and play time I also cared for cats as well! I love what I do and that is important balance in showing how well you work with animals! I like to excercise the dog and then spend some chill time towards then end of the session. I have walked 3 dogs at one time and I am very comfortable doing so. So I look forward to meeting you and you fur baby!

Kimberly is dependable did xtras like bring in mail and kept up areas where the girls stayed. She cuddled and loved them as if they were her own!! About: I’ve had dogs and cats since I was a kid of multiple breeds. I have learned that the best way to care for a pet is to make sure they are happy, healthy, and loved! I’m currently working from home and spend most of my time at home with my dog Rocco! My schedule is very flexible so I get to take my dog out often and would love the opportunity to spend time with even more pups and cats. I have a fenced yard, a cage, and I keep a close eye on the pets that I am caring for. I treat every pet as if it’s my own and make sure they have water at all times and access to bathroom as needed.
About: Aren’t animals the greatest gift? I’ve been caring for pets since I was 10. Now a professional dog-walker and pet sitter, I’m seeking to expand my business through Rover. It’s nice to know your pet is in their own space with a trusted individual while you are gone. I’m the person to give you that peace of mind. Help me help you love your pet. “Makula is wonderful for everything she did for our two babies. They were very happy and had a good time playing with her. Our little girl Goose is typically a little more skittish and she warmed up really fast to Makula! Thank you so much for everything!”

About: I’ve been privileged to grow up with dogs since I was a little girl. We rescued Katie, our beloved 11-year-old dog, when she was a puppy. She’s such an important part of our family and brings so much joy. Following years of being a preschool teacher, I’ve been a dog walker for a decade, which has allowed me to share my love for dogs with other families. As part of my dog walking career, I also gained experience taking care of a diabetic dog. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’d love to meet your adoring pet! I’m an empty nester and available every day during the week to walk and take care of your pet. I can also help out on most weekends. If I have never cared for your pet before, I’d come to your house to meet you and your pet and discuss your expectations and learn about your furry family member. Whether you’re looking for someone to provide food, exercise, playtime, medication or just caring company, I’m happy to help.

“It was such a comfort to have Heather take care of my kitties. She watered my Mom's flowers, took in the mail and provided daily updates and pictures. I'll definitely hire her again!”

About: I had a multiple dogs growing up, one who is 11 years old now, and also am a Fur Mom to a golden retriever. I am an animal lover and just want to be helpful since I use rover myself for sitters, and i figured I’d be just as helpful as the many sitters on here have been for me!! I work full time but that is just 3 days a week, so any other day I am available most of the day to accommodate your fur babies! My schedule does change every week though I live in an apartment complex but have access to a dog park within the complex and will be able to take your pups to local dog parks as well

Shirley's very kind, caring, polite and great to work with. She sent updates and pictures with every visit over the course of the week she sat for Coco. She followed all the instructions I left, and I could tell Coco was happy to see her with all the tail wag pictures! I will definitely book Shirley again :)

This was our first time using Alexa and she was wonderful!! Our kitties really liked her and followed her around everywhere. I could tell by the many pictures that our cats were super comfortable with her and enjoyed play time. She also went her way to accommodate our picky eater cat 😻 We felt comfortable being away and will Definitely use her in the future!!

I have had several good Rover sitters. None compare to Kendyl. You will see when you meet her that she is a warm, genuine person who exudes love for pets. She was the only catsitter that my cat ran to when she came in. She showed up on time. She carried out my many directions. She gave my cat medicine. Her photos of my cat were reassuring. When I got home, after almost two weeks, everything looked exactly as it did when I left—clean! I have an unfathomable, indescribable love for my cat. He is at least 17, with vulnerable health. I hate leaving him. I worry about him. I had Kendyl come three times a day. Thanks to her, I had peace of mind that contributed a wonderful vacation with my son. If you need a sitter, reach out to her right away. She has high demand for her reasonably priced service. Thank you, Kendyl!
Madison was super responsive, she was flexible when we asked her to come at an extra time, she was great with the instructions I gave and my pups seemed to love her every time she came ! I highly recommend booking her and I’ll definitely rebook in the future 🤗

Michael came by for a meet-and-greet before our upcoming trip, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He took the time to go through our care instructions, walked the dogs, learned their feeding routine, and patiently listened to all the little quirks that come with our two bull terriers. The best part was how quickly our dogs warmed up to him. They’re usually a great judge of character, and they were comfortable with him almost immediately, which gave us a lot of confidence. Michael is friendly, professional, attentive, and genuinely seems to care about the animals he looks after. After meeting him, we’re leaving for our trip feeling much more relaxed knowing our two clown bull terriers will be in such good hands. We highly recommend him!

Debbie was so accommodating and super attentive to all of Leo’s needs and care. She asked detailed and informative questions that would help her and Leo during our time away. We have no complaints and would definitely recommend Debs services and we’re looking forward to using her services in the future :)

Julie was great, she kept my cats litter box and feeding area very clean and made sure to always top off their water. She was very communicative with timing of her visits and she was nice enough to bring in all my packages and mail. I hope to use her again for Christmas!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:

- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
