About: I have been caring for various animals since childhood. I have always taken the responsibility seriously and I have always taken great joy in caring for all pets. I have many pets myself and am aware of the amount of work each unique pet requires. I had previously worked in a boarding facility that was attached to a vet clinic, this experience was paramount to building knowledge around my passion. I feel comfortable with the responsibility of administering medications to cats, dogs, and I even have experience with medicating exotic animals such as turtles, lizards, rabbits, etc. I have plenty of time to play with your lil one. I am happy to make your pet feel comfortable and accompanied while you are away, or to take an energetic dog out to walk multiple times a day as needed. Stimulation is key to a happy furry friend and I am here to help make your companion happy! Knowing how the client typically handles their pet is crucial to me as pets typically like routine and don't like strangers doing strange things. Taking notes and listening to client concerns are important to understand how the pet may react in certain situations (if they have a door dashing pet) so that I can change my actions to meet the needs of the pet(s). I like to keep single ingredient treats on me so that I can build trust with the pet and make sure we have a good relationship.

About: Hi, my name is Nico Dillman. I’m a graduate student studying GIS and currently living in Reno, NV, while serving full-time with AmeriCorps as a wetland technician. I have extensive experience in animal care, handling, and administering medications from working at the pet humane society in Incline Village, where I loved seeing animals find great homes. I recently paused that role to focus on starting my graduate classes and to avoid the challenging winter commute. When I’m not working, you’ll find me hiking, skiing, running, or snowshoeing. Let me help keep your furry friends happy and cared for! As a wetland technician, I work 8 AM–4 PM on weekdays with a flexible schedule and a full hour for lunch, giving me plenty of opportunities to care for pets throughout the day. I live close to work, making it easy to accommodate morning, evening, and weekend pet care. Since I’m new to Reno, I’m excited to explore the area through hikes and long walks—perfect for getting your dog outside for some fresh air and adventure. Pet care fits seamlessly into my active lifestyle, and I’d love to give your furry friend the attention and exercise they deserve! I currently live in an apartment in Reno and am unable to host dogs in my home. However, I have extensive experience caring for pets from my time working at a humane society, where I specialized in animal handling, care, and administering medications. I always prioritize the safety and comfort of the pets I care for, whether in their home or during walks and outdoor activities.

“Emely went above and beyond caring for our dog when we went away for a week. She made sure to walk and play with her, and keep us updated everyday. We really appreciated Emely’s care for our pup and will absolutely call her in the future! Thank you!!”

17. Jack T.
“I cannot think of a pet caregiver more reliable and loving than Jack. My two dogs absolutely adore going on walks and playing fetch with Jack. When I go out of town on trips, it can be hard finding someone to look after my many different animals, but Jack enthusiastically house sits for my cats and takes care of my critters in aquariums and cages. I know my rabbit is getting the veggies she needs and Jack feeds my gecko, axolotl, and turtle all kinds of different creepy crawlers without flinching. What really stands out are Jack's authentic love for animals and Jack's wealth of knowledge about different kinds of pets. Besides taking incredible pictures of my beloved critters, Jack has a background of working with a veterinary hospital, a doggie daycare, and has experience with boarding dogs and cats. This all pairs nicely with the fear-free approach Jack uses with animals. It's a huge benefit for when I'm on trips and need to rely on someone to help ensure my animals correctly get their prescribed meds. I am so thankful to have Jack's care for my pets and I know they love when Jack is looking after them.”
