“Kairo treats Jasper with love and care! I get the cutest pics and updates from him throughout the day and he is always on time, responsible and leaving my house spotless. Thank you again Kairo!”

“Kristen truly did an amazing job! She sent lots of pictures to me while I was on my trip and kept me very updated. I fully trust her and would definitely have her again! She stayed at my home and took care of my cat and my German shepherd! They loved her!”

“!Kay is amazing with Dallas and cares for my home so well! Dallas loves when she comes to care for him, too! Kay goes above and beyond when she stays at my home with Dallas. She’s the best!”
“Emily was AMAZING with my 3 pets. We have two huge dogs (mastiffs) and a skittish cat and she handled taking care of them perfectly. Our cat runs away and hisses at any strangers, but she warmed right up to Emily. My dogs also love her since she gave them so much affection and attention. She kept us updated throughout our trip, and she also cleaned our house and left it looking better than before we left for our trip. Emily rocks!”

“Bianca was a fantastic sitter for our dog. We have had a very difficult time finding people we trust with both our dog and our home, but Bianca quickly put us at ease when we met. Our dog has some daily needs (oral medications morning and evening as well as a paw oil before bed), and Bianca managed those with ease. We got some updates proactively and Bianca was happy to answer any questions or provide photos if we asked for more. It was nice to be able to enjoy our trip without wondering how our dog was doing -- a real luxury for us! Don't hesitate to reach out to Bianca if you need someone to be a temporary parent to your dog in your absence. :-)”

“This was our first time using an in-home dog sitter after losing our previous dog unexpectedly at a boarding facility, so we were understandably very hesitant. From the moment we met Vickie, she immediately put us at ease and gave us the confidence to leave our new pup at home while we were away. Vickie went above and beyond by visiting a few times before our trip to help our pup feel comfortable with her in our home. While we were gone, she kept us updated with daily photos, which meant so much to us, and she even took the time to water our garden. We came home to a happy, healthy pup and a house in perfect condition. We’re so grateful for the care and attention Vickie provided and would absolutely love to work with her again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter.”

“Caleb and Sara always give us peace of mind when we have a trip that we can’t take Flint with us! We have used them several times and each time has been awesome. Thank you Caleb and Sara!”

“Kaelyn did a fantastic job! We searched a long time to find someone we felt comfortable with to stay in our home and care for our puppy. It was such huge a relief to find Kaelyn! I was never worried during my vacation because I knew everything was in good hands! We’ll definitely be booking again.”

“Absolutely wonderful, took such great care of Lila and she followed up with texts and pics that always help ease the slight anxiety that we "furry family members" have as we travel..well no need, Savannah is amazing..House looked great when I returned and she even remembered to water the plants that I completely forgot about!! Thank you again Savannah and Sarah too!! I have found my permanent house/pet sitter!!”

About: I've taken care of pets since I was 10. I have had small and large dogs, and have taken care of cats. I enjoy going on walks with dogs I am currently a part time student and pretty much have an open schedule. I am never really free around the holidays like christmas and thanksgiving. I have a fenced yard and a 7 year old husky that would love to keep you fur baby company while at my home and we allow our husky on the furniture and bed.
“Erick did such a great job watching our pups! You can tell he truly cares for the animals he watches and treats them like his own. I always get nervous leaving our dogs and Erick was super communicative while we were away and helped ease my nerves! Very glad we found a sitter we can rely on!”

“Raquel was absolutely amazing with our dogs, Gracie and Rowdy! From the start, her communication was excellent—she kept us updated regularly and sent lots of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She is incredibly sweet and clearly has a natural connection with animals. She bonded with both dogs right away and took the time to really understand their individual personalities and little quirks. It was obvious they felt comfortable and cared for in her presence. One of our dogs was dealing with some pretty bad allergies during her stay, and Raquel truly went above and beyond to keep him comfortable. She was attentive, thoughtful, and kept us informed every step of the way, which we appreciated so much. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would hire her again and again without hesitation. Highly recommend Raquel to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and dedicated!”

Francis was great! It was my first time booking with her. She wasn’t hesitant to accept my last minute booking request. She was very communicative and sent me updates and pictures along the way to make sure my pet was safe and happy! Very happy with her service and will definitely be booking again in the near future! Highly recommend ✨

Megan is a gem! She took great care of our dog, Blu, and gave us peace of mind while we were away. She was a great communicator, kept our home clean, exactly as we left it, walked Blu every day, and sent us photos that always made us smile. We also appreciated that she took the time to do a meet-n-greet before our trip. Megan is kind, dependable, and genuinely caring. We feel so lucky to have found her and look forward to booking with her again!

My dog took to Kylie immediately. She makes sure to follow all instructions, takes my pup out on plenty of walks and gives love and affection time. It’s fantastic to have a dog sitter I can not only trust but someone who makes my pup feel as loved as I would while I’m away.

We cannot recommend Aleksandra enough! From the very beginning, she was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and took the time to understand all of our needs. We were in town for a wedding with multiple events, and she was so flexible, accommodating both her home and our Airbnb, which made everything seamless for us! We have a 10-month-old mini dachshund, a breed that requires extra care due to their sensitive backs, and Aleksandra’s experience and attention to detail immediately put us at ease. She also kept us updated throughout with messages and photos, which meant we never had to worry for a second. Our pup looked so happy and comfortable the entire time, and we know he was sad to see her go! We only wish we lived closer so we could book her all the time!

Malissa is such a sweetheart. She really loves our baby and takes such great care of him. This is our second time having her babysit in our home and s we will always be using her when we go away. She even washes the bedding, vacuums and makes sure the house is in perfect order before we get home. She's such a gem and I would highly recommend her.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dutch Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dutch Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dutch Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
