“Bianca was a fantastic sitter for our dog. We have had a very difficult time finding people we trust with both our dog and our home, but Bianca quickly put us at ease when we met. Our dog has some daily needs (oral medications morning and evening as well as a paw oil before bed), and Bianca managed those with ease. We got some updates proactively and Bianca was happy to answer any questions or provide photos if we asked for more. It was nice to be able to enjoy our trip without wondering how our dog was doing -- a real luxury for us! Don't hesitate to reach out to Bianca if you need someone to be a temporary parent to your dog in your absence. :-)”

“Alivia was great with my dog TJ! Her communication was excellent and she sent pictures and video. They had a great time. This gave me such great peace of mind. She cared for my TJ like he was her own fur baby.”

“Best pet/house sitter there is. Period. She’s been helping me out for years now and is so reliable, kind and communicative. And I have a pretty wild animal situation with a variety of pets and different needs. We love you, Kay!”

“Kairo is awesome with my pups! They took to her easily. She is very attentive and picks up on each of their personalities to better accommodate their needs. 10 out of 10 would recommend!”

“Kristen truly did an amazing job! She sent lots of pictures to me while I was on my trip and kept me very updated. I fully trust her and would definitely have her again! She stayed at my home and took care of my cat and my German shepherd! They loved her!”

“Caleb & Sara stayed over & cared for my little pack of pups, and cat couple with devotion. Kept me posted, sent pictures and made my time away, worry free❣️💕💕 Will ask for them again in a heartbeat!!”

“This was our first time using an in-home dog sitter after losing our previous dog unexpectedly at a boarding facility, so we were understandably very hesitant. From the moment we met Vickie, she immediately put us at ease and gave us the confidence to leave our new pup at home while we were away. Vickie went above and beyond by visiting a few times before our trip to help our pup feel comfortable with her in our home. While we were gone, she kept us updated with daily photos, which meant so much to us, and she even took the time to water our garden. We came home to a happy, healthy pup and a house in perfect condition. We’re so grateful for the care and attention Vickie provided and would absolutely love to work with her again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter.”

“Anthony was the best! He was incredibly communicative and responsive both before the stay and during. He took great care of our pups and sent photo updates regularly. Couldn’t have asked for anyone better. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a sitter!”

“Natasha was amazing! Definitely one of the best dog sitters I have hired through Rover. To be honest, I was a little worried as this is the first time I’ve had a sitter for my six month old puppy who is fearful of people. Natasha quickly put me at ease with lots of videos and pictures and I could see that he warmed up to her very quickly. She communicated throughout the entire trip which I appreciated. I would highly recommend her.”

“Emily was AMAZING with my 3 pets. We have two huge dogs (mastiffs) and a skittish cat and she handled taking care of them perfectly. Our cat runs away and hisses at any strangers, but she warmed right up to Emily. My dogs also love her since she gave them so much affection and attention. She kept us updated throughout our trip, and she also cleaned our house and left it looking better than before we left for our trip. Emily rocks!”

“Stop!! Stop searching! This is your guy! After searching for the right person for literally years we were lucky enough to find Erick. Erick is friendly and always on time. He took the time to ask questions on how we would like our dogs cared for. He not only ensured their safety while we were out but he played with them, engaged with them, feed them, let them potty and cleaned up afterwards. My doggies love seeing him and are excited every time he comes over to watch them for us. 5 stars is not enough. He honest and trustworthy, dogs love him, and he genuinely cares about the animals. He even helped feed my fishies for me. I can’t recommend enough!!! ?”

“Melia went above and beyond with our girl Parker! We couldn’t be happier with our experience! We received frequent picture updates and our dog looked so happy in every one of them! She was very attentive to detail and we could tell she was getting the best care! She looked so happy when we returned home. On top of that, our house was in beautiful shape when we got back, you couldn’t even tell someone had been staying here! I would highly recommend Melia, we will definitely be using her again!”

“Megan is amazing! She took wonderful care of Sasha and left the sweetest report card. She is incredibly thoughtful, detailed with routines, and a total professional. Will definitely be booking her again‘”

“My boy Deebo loved her. He has been looking for her ever since she left. I look forward to working with her in the future! Thank you for giving my boy all the love and care he deserves!”

“Amanda was awesome from start to finish! She was attentive, trustworthy, and we could tell our pups had a wonderful time with her. Overall it was an great experience and we are so happy we've found someone who was so loving and caring! Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Dutch Village
My dog took to Kylie immediately. She makes sure to follow all instructions, takes my pup out on plenty of walks and gives love and affection time. It’s fantastic to have a dog sitter I can not only trust but someone who makes my pup feel as loved as I would while I’m away.

We cannot recommend Aleksandra enough! From the very beginning, she was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and took the time to understand all of our needs. We were in town for a wedding with multiple events, and she was so flexible, accommodating both her home and our Airbnb, which made everything seamless for us! We have a 10-month-old mini dachshund, a breed that requires extra care due to their sensitive backs, and Aleksandra’s experience and attention to detail immediately put us at ease. She also kept us updated throughout with messages and photos, which meant we never had to worry for a second. Our pup looked so happy and comfortable the entire time, and we know he was sad to see her go! We only wish we lived closer so we could book her all the time!

Malissa is such a sweetheart. She really loves our baby and takes such great care of him. This is our second time having her babysit in our home and s we will always be using her when we go away. She even washes the bedding, vacuums and makes sure the house is in perfect order before we get home. She's such a gem and I would highly recommend her.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Dutch Village on Rover is $48.84 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,156 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Dutch Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dutch Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dutch Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dutch Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dutch Village. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
