“Ako house sat for us for over a week and she did everything as requested plus more. She is the only one we trust when caring for our special needs dog and to stay in our house to add to that. She is very accommodating and followed all of our instructions. She also left our house the way we left it :) Thanks Ako! I highly recommend her!”

“Raquel was absolutely amazing with our dogs, Gracie and Rowdy! From the start, her communication was excellent—she kept us updated regularly and sent lots of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She is incredibly sweet and clearly has a natural connection with animals. She bonded with both dogs right away and took the time to really understand their individual personalities and little quirks. It was obvious they felt comfortable and cared for in her presence. One of our dogs was dealing with some pretty bad allergies during her stay, and Raquel truly went above and beyond to keep him comfortable. She was attentive, thoughtful, and kept us informed every step of the way, which we appreciated so much. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would hire her again and again without hesitation. Highly recommend Raquel to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and dedicated!”

About: I have taken care of cats since I was about 10 years old and dogs since I was about 13. Shortly after I moved out I adopted puppy then a kitten. It was definitely fun training my own puppy. I am currently a stay at home mom who also homeschools my kids. Our dogs are taken out for walks during the day and night. We love playing and cuddling with our cats and dogs throughout our school day. We crate our dogs when we are not home. If your pet is needed to be in a crate when you are not home, I can ensure that will happen.
“Marisa stayed with our 2 dogs for a long weekend. She sent many pictures and videos along with updates throughout. It’s always nice to feel like your dogs are being loved and cared for while away and I definitely felt that way with Marisa. One of the best sitters we’ve had on Rover. Would definitely book again.”

“Melia was great! Sent daily updates and pictures of my two dogs. She respected my home and had no issues. Communicated very well prior to booking and during. Came back to two very happy pups. Will definitely be booking again when we need a sitter.”

“Kairo is awesome!! We have a lot of anxiety leaving our dogs, especially since we work remote and they’re used to having us home all the time. She gave us multiple daily updates and sent pictures. Our babies were well taken care of!”

“Stop!! Stop searching! This is your guy! After searching for the right person for literally years we were lucky enough to find Erick. Erick is friendly and always on time. He took the time to ask questions on how we would like our dogs cared for. He not only ensured their safety while we were out but he played with them, engaged with them, feed them, let them potty and cleaned up afterwards. My doggies love seeing him and are excited every time he comes over to watch them for us. 5 stars is not enough. He honest and trustworthy, dogs love him, and he genuinely cares about the animals. He even helped feed my fishies for me. I can’t recommend enough!!! ?”

“Meghan clearly loves dogs and gave special care and attention to both of my needy dogs. She sent regular updates and I felt so comforted that they were safe and taken great care of!”

“We couldn’t be more grateful for the outstanding care Amanda provided to our two dogs, Sammy and Sully. From the moment we met, it was clear that they were in great hands. She went above and beyond to ensure that both dogs felt comfortable, happy, and loved while we were away. Daily updates, photos, and thoughtful communication gave us complete peace of mind. Sammy and Sully were clearly well taken care of and were so calm and content when we returned. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares about your pets and will treat them like their own, look no further. Highly recommend!”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter! Madison was amazing and so easy to work with. She took care of my two cats and dog over the weekend, and I felt completely at ease knowing they were in great hands. She sent me lots of pictures throughout the weekend, which was so reassuring. It really helped put my mind at ease while I was away. I’ll definitely be booking with her again in the future”

About: Of all animals I have the most experience with dogs. I love dogs all shapes and sizes We've always had a dog at home and I have lots of experience, caring for playing with and walking dogs, including bath time. I'm a recent graduate of heritage high school. I took agriculture at school and worked with the animals on our school farm I'm looking to do rover as often as possible. I don't have any other obligations at this time. So I can dedicate myself to your pets. I am very careful about fences and doors. I'm mindful of owner instructions regarding where their pets can be. And where they are not allowed. I am mindful of them while they are eaten. And while they are playing, to make sure that they remain safe. I checked the pavement before I take a dog out on walks to make sure it's not too hot and always make sure to wash their bowls so that I can help prevent bacteria
About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a home with several pets, primarily Golden Retrievers, and had the privilege of helping raise two litters of puppies. Those early experiences taught me the value of patience, consistency, and creating a loving environment where dogs can flourish. When I was sixteen, our family dog welcomed a litter of eleven puppies, and I was actively involved throughout her pregnancy, the delivery, and the puppies’ early development. One of those puppies became my soul dog, deepening my appreciation for the extraordinary bond between dogs and their families. Over the years, I’ve gained knowledge with caring for puppies, adult dogs, seniors, and pets recovering from surgery. Above all, I make it a priority to help every pet feel protected, nurtured and content while maintaining the routine they’re accustomed to. Whether we’re exploring a neighborhood trail, playing with their favorite toys, practicing positive reinforcement with owner-approved treats, or simply enjoying quiet cuddle time, I strive to make every pet feel like they’re spending time with a trusted friend—not just a sitter. Building trust is one of the most rewarding parts of pet sitting. Every dog deserves patience, kindness, and individualized attention, and I take the time to create a genuine connection with each one. My hope is that you’ll return home to a settled companion with the confidence that they were treated like a cherished member of my own family. I currently have open availability as I am working instacart and obtaining my Yoga teacher training certification. If you need someone reliable and loving to take care of your fur baby, I will be there! I understand that every pet and every family has unique routines and preferences. My priority is to provide care that aligns with your pet’s normal schedule so they feel safe and loved while you’re away. Whether you need drop-in visits, walks, or overnight care, I’m happy to accommodate your needs. I’ll treat your home with the same respect I would my own by keeping it clean, tidy, and secure. My goal is for you to return to a happy pet and a home that’s just as you left it.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Valle de los Caballos walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Valle de los Caballos maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Valle de los Caballos choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
