About: Of all animals I have the most experience with dogs. I love dogs all shapes and sizes We've always had a dog at home and I have lots of experience, caring for playing with and walking dogs, including bath time. I'm a recent graduate of heritage high school. I took agriculture at school and worked with the animals on our school farm I'm looking to do rover as often as possible. I don't have any other obligations at this time. So I can dedicate myself to your pets. I am very careful about fences and doors. I'm mindful of owner instructions regarding where their pets can be. And where they are not allowed. I am mindful of them while they are eaten. And while they are playing, to make sure that they remain safe. I checked the pavement before I take a dog out on walks to make sure it's not too hot and always make sure to wash their bowls so that I can help prevent bacteria
“This was our first time using an in-home dog sitter after losing our previous dog unexpectedly at a boarding facility, so we were understandably very hesitant. From the moment we met Vickie, she immediately put us at ease and gave us the confidence to leave our new pup at home while we were away. Vickie went above and beyond by visiting a few times before our trip to help our pup feel comfortable with her in our home. While we were gone, she kept us updated with daily photos, which meant so much to us, and she even took the time to water our garden. We came home to a happy, healthy pup and a house in perfect condition. We’re so grateful for the care and attention Vickie provided and would absolutely love to work with her again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter.”

“If you are looking for an experienced, trustworthy, compassionate clean, hands on pet lover with the best vibes to watch your furry baby, I just ? found one! Even my weirdo skittish cat likes her instantly! That was my sign! I handed her my keys and knew I had nothing to worry about. I was right. She kept me updated and I was able to have a relaxing vacation without worrying what was happening at home. Thank you Maria. You are fantastic ❤️?”

About: I have over 3 years of experience caring for dogs and have worked as a pet sitter for three different families. During that time, I cared for dogs with different personalities, sizes, and energy levels. My responsibilities included feeding, providing companionship, administering basic care, and following each family’s specific routines and instructions. I am a college student with a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate quality time to the pets I care for. I truly enjoy being around dogs and love spending time walking, playing, and giving them the attention they deserve. I always make sure to follow each pet’s routine. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, and routines. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect both your home and your pet’s routine to help them feel comfortable and relaxed. I keep the environment clean, provide fresh water, monitor their well-being, and give them attention. I believe clear communication is essential, so I provide regular updates and photos throughout each visit.
About: I've owned dogs for most of my life and have helped care for and play with many different sized dogs with different personalities. I love helping my family, friends, and neighbors take care of their pets and especially playing and hanging out with them. I am a part-time college student, so I'm mostly busy during Mondays and Wednesdays and occasionally Thursdays. However, I am completely free during the weekends. I have a fenced in yard along with dogs and cats who get along with other dogs. There is plenty space for dogs to run around and play.
“Michael was great. Hank had a little trauma when he witnessed his brother Rottie pass away and gets a little anxious on occasion when we leave but Michael took great care of him. He walked him and was super attentive to my texts and Hank seemed to really like him. I received daily texts and photos/videos which kept me from being sad and missing Hank :). I feel confident that we will use Michael again,”

“Lili was wonderful with our boys, Ozzy & Luke. She communicated with us throughout the stay. She sent updates and photos of our pups, which we really enjoyed. She treated the pups and our home with lots of respect. We’re looking forward to her spending more time with our pups in the future. Lili is great, your fur babies will warm up to her immediately. 💛”

“How wonderful to be able to leave my 14 year old Boston for a weekend without worry! Bella was patient and kind with my old dogs quirky behavior, she made sure Goodie stayed warm and comfy during her stay, Bella was even gracious enough to deliver my old girl to my home! Service that was above and beyond what Goodie would have experienced at a ”regular”boarding facility. Thank you Bella!”
“Richard watched are 100 lbs baby named Duke and did a great job with him.Duke suffers from separation anxiety and Richard treated with great care and a lot of attention to keep him calm while we were away.Richard responds to all text and shows up on time ready to go.Me and my wife are very picky about who we have house sit and I highly recommend Richard.”

I can promise your animals will be safe with me, i also get along very well with cats, i have one of my own. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sun City
Portia was amazing. She watched both my Frenchies at my home. My normal dog sitter was unfortunately not available. But Portia put me at ease, we did a meet and greet prior. She communicated with me the entire time and sent pictures of my boys throughout my trip. She also left my home in perfect condition. I would definitely recommend her and use her again.

Nickie was fantastic. She kept us well informed with regular updates and plenty of photos, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. She was proactive in asking questions to ensure she understood everything clearly and always responded promptly when we reached out. Our dogs were happy, well cared for, and pleasantly tired when we returned—clear signs they were kept active and engaged. She paid close attention to their needs and followed all of our instructions carefully. Overall, it was a smooth, positive experience, and we would absolutely work with her again.
This is the second time we have used Richard to sit with Duke. Duke can be very anxious when left with someone other than my wife and myself but with patients Richard was able to get him to calm down and finally relax. We highly recommend Richard and we plan to use him again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sun City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sun City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sun City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
