“First time experience . Extremely please . Samantha was quick to respond and easy to communicate w at all times. This was a last minute request and she made it so easy. My dogs loved her and I will use her again and highly recommend her . Love the pics and the FU. Thank you for the best experience.”

“Denisa was extremely helpful, understanding, and loving 🥰. She went above and beyond to ensure I was receiving text messages during my trip where I didn’t have access to Wi-Fi. I had a very relaxing vacation time knowing my furry child was in great hands! She also used her language skills to communicate with my mom, who doesn’t speak English, and maintained open communication regarding schedule changes and other challenges we faced. My child is one of those stubborn ones, however, she did what a good pet sitter would do, but she added love ❤️, fun and joy to Polito’s potty time. Every picture and video she shared, showed a super excited and happy child! I highly recommend her! 🥰🐶💕🐾”

About: I’ve taken care of smaller dog breeds since I was 10 since I was a pet owner myself. My childhood pup of 17 years recently passed. I took care of medium-to-large breeds during the pandemic and during grad school. I’m familiar with anxious dogs and older dogs, and like to give animals their space to feel comfortable around me. I’m also experienced in cat sitting (~ 5 years) and have taken care of multi-pet households before. My day-time schedule is flexible and my weekends are pretty much open, especially in the mornings. I like being outside, so I am often at a park or on a hike on weekends! I currently live at home with family, no children and no other pets. We have a large backyard. In a client’s home, I like to be familiar with all entrances and exits and am extra careful to pay attention to feeding and medicine schedules. I take care of my client’s home like I take care of their pet. I am respectful, caring, and responsible. I want the pet to feel as less stress as possible.

“Laura is awesome. She's great with my 2 dogs, who constitute 180 lbs of fur! She's really responsive as well, just bailed me out of an unexpected jam by making sure the dogs were good so I could take care of it. Thanks!”

About: I grew up with lots of animals that always needed extra care and love. I also have taken care of seniors that need extra attention, patience, and medication. I just recently graduated cosmetology school so I’m taking time off in the mean time to explore other areas. I have open availability so my focus can be on your fur babies I keep plenty of toys and litter boxes around the home. I keep evening tidy and clean for my animals. I like to meet the animal first to make sure it’ll be a good fit and to ensure I am capable of taking care of them
“Melissa was great. My dog doesn’t always walk well for new people and he took to her right away. She took the time to come by for a meet and greet and we were really impressed!”

“Brianna was absolutely wonderful with my baby girl, Sammy. She communicates well, shares cute photos every day, and took the time to come meet Sammy and see how she’s doing! I would definitely recommend her and will be booking with her again!”

“Hannah is absolutely awesome! I booked her for a week to care for King, and she was incredibly timely, engaging, and focused on his needs every single day. She provided detailed notes after each visit, sent wonderful photos during their walks, and even left a sweet, handwritten thank-you note at the end of the booking. To top it off, when another walker had a last-minute transportation emergency this morning, I contacted Hannah, and she went completely out of her way to come out and help us on short notice. She is always responsive, highly professional, and truly cares about King. I cannot recommend her enough!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs for the last 11 years, I am a full time GMU student but I’m flexible with my schedule! I am a full time student at GMU but my classes are spread out so I have a lot of time to work with. I’m very willing to work something out to ensure your fur babies get good care. I will respect your home and house rules when dropping in or taking the pets for walks. I like to stay on routine to ensure the fur babies get good time to go outside, walk, play and feeding, crating or even cleaning up after them. I will also send pictures with updates.

Thanks for trusting me with your best fur friend! I'm currently working PT and obtaining my yoga teacher training course so I have plenty of open availability for services whether thats dog walking or sitting. I have a fenced in yard where my own dog Cosmo plays and can certainly crate your dog if needed. I am also available for dog sitting and am comfortable with any home set up.
“Megan was absolutely amazing! She responded to our last-minute booking request and took such great care of our dog. She went above and beyond to make sure our pup was walked, fed, and well cared for. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dog was in such kind and reliable hands. Megan was communicative, dependable, and truly showed that she cares about the pets she looks after. We are incredibly grateful for her help and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter. Thank you so much, Megan!”

“Lindsey is absolutely INCREDIBLE! The love and care she shows for my pup is unmatched. She goes above and beyond to work with my schedule and is truly such a kind person. If you’re looking for someone to look after your pup in any way. No hesitation. It HAS to be Lindsey. You will not regret it!!!”

“William was great! He was reliable, flexible, understanding, patient and very nice. He did great with my two dogs. One of them requires special attention during walks. Will did exceptional. Definitely will be telling my family and friends about him so they can use him too, I know I will be! Thanks again William!”

“I’ve had Christopher walk my English cocker spaniel a few times now and I still have nothing but good things to say. He’s attentive, he gives her good exercise, and he’s almost always available. When something seems off about her, he lets me know. He’s a really caring, great person, and I HIGHLY recommend.”

I highly recommend Ashley! She was confident and comfortable handling my large Saint Bernard, which gave me so much peace of mind. She had no problems walking such a big dog, kept me updated with great communication, and sent plenty of pictures during the visit. She was incredibly friendly, reliable, and it was obvious she genuinely cared for my pup. I will definitely book with her again!

Shana was a pure delight! Shana walked Brooklyn for me while I was out of town - sometimes once a day and others twice a day. Brooklyn is slow to warm up to new people but she fell in love with Shana nearly immediately because of Shana's gentle and reassuringly manner. Shana is my new favorite Rover sitter for Brooklyn.

Olivia was great! We loved her punctuality, she showed a few minutes early to each appointment including our meet and greet. She was amazing with our 13.5 year old German Shepherd, and provided detailed updates for each walk. We rarely leave our fur baby alone due to his age and health, and Olivia helped our minds be at ease during our time away. I definitely recommend Olivia and would absolutely use her again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
