“Samantha did an amazing job walking our pup Prince. She was very professional and her communication was top tier. She treated him like her own and you can tell she loves what she does. I look forward to having her walk him again. I highly recommend Samantha!”

About: I am a current college student with years of experience working with animals. I have mainly pet sat and done drop-ins with neighbor dogs and cats. I like taking the dogs to a dog park or hikes if the owners are comfortable. I am easy going and understanding of different circumstances. I am big on communication and want the best time for you and your pets. I am a college student with pretty much all hours of availability this summer both weekends and weekdays. I have a working car so I can satisfy most any schedule. In my clients' homes, I always want to fully communicate so I understand the boundaries and guidelines of the home and care of the pet. I want to ensure that the proper tasks are taken care of in a professional manner for both you and your pets.
“Omg I love Megan for taking such good care of my Rocky while I am recovering from surgery. I was so worried who would walk him during the day. She has been truly an amazing person and Rocky loves her. He knows when she is walking up the steps and waiting by the door. Thank you again so much Megan for taking such good of my pupson.”

About: I have been taking care of dogs for the last 11 years, I am a full time GMU student but I’m flexible with my schedule! I am a full time student at GMU but my classes are spread out so I have a lot of time to work with. I’m very willing to work something out to ensure your fur babies get good care. I will respect your home and house rules when dropping in or taking the pets for walks. I like to stay on routine to ensure the fur babies get good time to go outside, walk, play and feeding, crating or even cleaning up after them. I will also send pictures with updates.

About: I’ve owned and cared for dogs my entire life, giving me 19 years of hands-on experience across all breeds and sizes. From large, powerful breeds like Rottweilers, Pitbulls, and Great Danes to spirited Schnauzers and my current 4-year-old French Bulldog, I understand how to adjust my care to every dog's unique personality and energy level. Whether your pup needs confident, experienced handling on walks or gentle, focused attention, safety and comfort are always my top priorities. Pet care is my top priority! I manage my schedule carefully to ensure every dog gets full attention, frequent bathroom breaks, and daily exercise. Whether you need drop-in visits, walks, or house sitting, I have flexible availability to match your dog's exact daily routine. Having raised dogs my whole life—from large breeds like Great Danes and Pitbulls to smaller pups like my Frenchie—I prioritize safety above all else. In your home, I keep the environment secure, strictly follow all feeding and leash protocols, and provide frequent updates and photos so you have total peace of mind.

“I highly recommend Ashley! She was confident and comfortable handling my large Saint Bernard, which gave me so much peace of mind. She had no problems walking such a big dog, kept me updated with great communication, and sent plenty of pictures during the visit. She was incredibly friendly, reliable, and it was obvious she genuinely cared for my pup. I will definitely book with her again!”

“Deloris came through last minute which was incredible but also provided 5 star service and paid attention to detail. We will definitely be using her again. Run don’t walk to book her.”

About: I have had pets all my life. I started helping take care of my cat and dogs at around 10 years old. I help out with my friends and extended family members pets as well. My dog takes medication in the morning so I can administer medication if needed. She has also gone through two surgeries so I can help during pet recovery as well. I’ve had hyperactive dogs as well as territorial/ toy-aggressive dogs and know how to deal with them. I have also had dogs who needed extra care due to being old. I do know a little bit about training dogs but not much. I work part time and go to college full time. However, I live at home with my parents so I can fit pet care into my schedule. I have a fenced backyard for my dog to run around or just lay outside. I walk her 2/3 times a day and she gets fed twice a day, morning and evening. I also spend a lot of time with her whether it’s playing around or just watching tv. If I am caring for someone else’s pets, I feed the pets and play with them as well as hang out with them.

“William was great! He was reliable, flexible, understanding, patient and very nice. He did great with my two dogs. One of them requires special attention during walks. Will did exceptional. Definitely will be telling my family and friends about him so they can use him too, I know I will be! Thanks again William!”

Shana was a pure delight! Shana walked Brooklyn for me while I was out of town - sometimes once a day and others twice a day. Brooklyn is slow to warm up to new people but she fell in love with Shana nearly immediately because of Shana's gentle and reassuringly manner. Shana is my new favorite Rover sitter for Brooklyn.

Olivia was great! We loved her punctuality, she showed a few minutes early to each appointment including our meet and greet. She was amazing with our 13.5 year old German Shepherd, and provided detailed updates for each walk. We rarely leave our fur baby alone due to his age and health, and Olivia helped our minds be at ease during our time away. I definitely recommend Olivia and would absolutely use her again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
