I need to understand how your pet behaves around new people so I can approach them in the most comforting and respectful way possible. Should I prepare for a shy and anxious temperament, or are they more eager and curious? Every animal has their own unique personality, and I want to make sure I meet them where they are emotionally. For example, my own dog tends to be protective—she’ll often sit on my lap when someone new is nearby—so I completely understand how important it is to be mindful of your pet’s comfort level. Please also let me know if your pet has specific dietary needs, scheduled medications, or any unique habits or quirks that might seem unusual to someone unfamiliar. The more I know, the better care I can provide!

During walks, I like to offer what’s known as a “Sniffari”—allowing your dog to explore and engage with their surroundings through scent, which is both enriching and enjoyable for them. If the owner prefers backyard play instead, I’m happy to toss tennis balls or their favorite toy. I often join in the fun by running around and racing to see who gets the ball first—something I’ve always enjoyed doing with my pets. Of course, I also make time for feeding and cuddle sessions. If your pet is comfortable with it, I’ll sit beside them and offer gentle affection until our scheduled visit comes to an end. Throughout the visit, I send photos and updates so you can see just how sweet and happy your pet is in my care!
