“Once again Samantha did an amazing job with our Prince. She does such a great job and you can tell she loves what she does because it shows in how she treats and cares for our pup. Her communication is top tier I highly recommend her!”

“Laura is awesome. She's great with my 2 dogs, who constitute 180 lbs of fur! She's really responsive as well, just bailed me out of an unexpected jam by making sure the dogs were good so I could take care of it. Thanks!”

“There are no words to describe how amazing Denisa is with all animals. She went above and beyond to care for my fur baby. My dog has IBD and Denisa made sure he had everything he needed and was very careful with him. She was loving, kind and extremely responsible. She kept me updated all the time with photos and videos. She made me feel at ease while I was on vacation. Will highly recommend her!!”

About: Hello Potomac Community! My name is Jacqueline and I’m excited to have the opportunity to meet your pet. 🐶🐱 I have personal experience caring for pets, having looked after the pets of family and friends and providing them with the love and attention they need. At home I have two pets of my own, so I understand the dedication and responsibility that comes with pet care. I will ensure that every pet is happy and well-cared for. I work from home a few days a week, so my schedule is flexible to do drop-ins or walk your pet in the morning, lunchtime, and late afternoon. For dog walking and drop-ins, I will ensure your dog’s safety at all times. I remain mindful of your pet’s needs and provide lots of care and attention so your furry friend feels loved and cared for, giving you peace of mind.
About: I’ve taken care of smaller dog breeds since I was 10 since I was a pet owner myself. My childhood pup of 17 years recently passed. I took care of medium-to-large breeds during the pandemic and during grad school. I’m familiar with anxious dogs and older dogs, and like to give animals their space to feel comfortable around me. I’m also experienced in cat sitting (~ 5 years) and have taken care of multi-pet households before. My day-time schedule is flexible and my weekends are pretty much open, especially in the mornings. I like being outside, so I am often at a park or on a hike on weekends! I currently live at home with family, no children and no other pets. We have a large backyard. In a client’s home, I like to be familiar with all entrances and exits and am extra careful to pay attention to feeding and medicine schedules. I take care of my client’s home like I take care of their pet. I am respectful, caring, and responsible. I want the pet to feel as less stress as possible.
“Melissa was great. My dog doesn’t always walk well for new people and he took to her right away. She took the time to come by for a meet and greet and we were really impressed!”

“Omg I love Megan for taking such good care of my Rocky while I am recovering from surgery. I was so worried who would walk him during the day. She has been truly an amazing person and Rocky loves her. He knows when she is walking up the steps and waiting by the door. Thank you again so much Megan for taking such good of my pupson.”

About: I have been taking care of dogs for the last 11 years, I am a full time GMU student but I’m flexible with my schedule! I am a full time student at GMU but my classes are spread out so I have a lot of time to work with. I’m very willing to work something out to ensure your fur babies get good care. I will respect your home and house rules when dropping in or taking the pets for walks. I like to stay on routine to ensure the fur babies get good time to go outside, walk, play and feeding, crating or even cleaning up after them. I will also send pictures with updates.

“Grace is so wonderful! I am so glad I found her. My sweet almost 13 year old beagle absolutely loves her! She sends me lots of pics and keeps me updated with how the visit/ walk is going. She is easy to communicate with and very personable! She’s very trustworthy and I felt comfortable right away. Highly recommend!!! I know my fur baby is well taken care of when I go to work and I don’t have to worry with having someone that I can trust!”

“William was great! He was reliable, flexible, understanding, patient and very nice. He did great with my two dogs. One of them requires special attention during walks. Will did exceptional. Definitely will be telling my family and friends about him so they can use him too, I know I will be! Thanks again William!”

I also can cover your fish feeding, lizards, and ferrets if needed. Hit me up. We can plan a planning. Woof woof! I’m currently self - employed part time. I’m usually available on many days. Would like to walk early morning and midday when you’re going to work or far away. Can cover the same pet in evening if something happens suddenly. Unfortunately, I live in someone’s place and have to follow his policies. No pets allowed in my home but good news I can take care of your pets in your sweet home.

“Lohan is wonderful with King. He’s on time and reliable. One day it rained and he was concerned with King being comfortable in the weather conditions. King is excited for his walks with Lohan, as he wakes me up early to get him ready and then he patiently waits by the door. Lohan is very good with communicating with me and keeps me updated. I absolutely love the pictures I receive every morning. I would definitely recommend Lohan.”

“I’ve had Christopher walk my English cocker spaniel a few times now and I still have nothing but good things to say. He’s attentive, he gives her good exercise, and he’s almost always available. When something seems off about her, he lets me know. He’s a really caring, great person, and I HIGHLY recommend.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cherry Hill
I hired her to care for my dog while I was out of the country for two weeks, and she did a great job. It was clear that she genuinely cared about my dog’s well-being. On the first day, an unexpected issue prevented her from getting into my house while I was on a 15-hour flight and unable to respond. She spent a considerable amount of time trying to gain access, repeatedly attempted to contact me, and explored other options because she was genuinely worried about my dog being left inside without care. Although she ultimately had to leave, her persistence and concern showed me that she took the situation—and her responsibility for my dog—very seriously. Throughout the rest of my trip, she was dependable, communicated well, and took good care of my dog. I felt comfortable knowing he was in capable hands and would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog walker or pet sitter.

I highly recommend Ashley! She was confident and comfortable handling my large Saint Bernard, which gave me so much peace of mind. She had no problems walking such a big dog, kept me updated with great communication, and sent plenty of pictures during the visit. She was incredibly friendly, reliable, and it was obvious she genuinely cared for my pup. I will definitely book with her again!

Meghan was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of our sweet Toby and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She was kind, reliable, and communicative throughout her visit. She even went above and beyond with a few thoughtful touches that were so appreciated. It’s clear she genuinely cares about both the pets and their owners. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter! ❤️🐾

Shana was a pure delight! Shana walked Brooklyn for me while I was out of town - sometimes once a day and others twice a day. Brooklyn is slow to warm up to new people but she fell in love with Shana nearly immediately because of Shana's gentle and reassuringly manner. Shana is my new favorite Rover sitter for Brooklyn.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
