“Jenna was very accommodating to our last minute need for a sitter. We have two fairly large dogs and she got a long great with both! She was punctual and sent photos daily. I would absolutely use Jenna again.”

“Barbara was truly wonderful! Everything about our experience with her was perfect. We had a lovely meet and greet where she came to our house and met our two dogs, who instantly loved her! She stayed with them for four days/nights while we were away. Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty! Gus is a very old, enormous Rottweiler who needs help getting up from the floor. Barbara was totally willing to help this dignified old guy up, and also guiding him outside (he is deaf and partially blind). I could see that Gus felt very safe and comfortable with her, which is not the case with everyone since he feels very vulnerable now in his elder years. And our youngster Sammy who is a bundle of energy, was ecstatic to have a new friend who would play with him. Unfortunately Sammy had a bad tummy during the weekend, and Barbara was up with him several nights, making sure he was comfortable and taking him out for frequent relief walks. During my time away Barbara sent pictures and updates throughout the day to put my mind at ease. This was my first time leaving my precious fur babies with anyone other than a family member, and I was nervous, but Barbara did everything she could to make this a very special experience for all of us. When I came back, both dogs were totally bonded with Barbara and Sammy especially did not want her to leave! We will definitely be using Barbara’s services again!”
About: Skills include: medication application, IV fluids, walking, playing, vet appointments, pregnancy assistance in birth, feeding, cleaning, bathing and most importantly cuddles! (Cuddles with consent of course) I have a remote job that doesn’t take up a lot of time so I am usually available and I have a love and passion for caring for animals and pets! I love animals and I had a cat named Precious for 18 years. I got a job at a vet hospital not only because I loved pets but because it was best for Precious. I was able to give her the best quality of life through my job and she sadly passed away in 2025. She was my special girl and I am ready to start caring for animals again. They matter a lot to me and I can’t bring myself to get another cat so I figured all the love and care I have in my heart, I should use it for good and help others in taking care of their precious babies. I’ve learned a lot while working at a vet hospital as well.
About: We’re sisters—Elizabeth (37) and Racheal (15)—who love caring for pets of all kinds. Together we provide reliable, loving pet care: walks, playtime, feeding, litter-box/scoop, and medication when needed. We have two dogs and two cats ourselves that are a range of sizes and ages, and we have experience with confident dogs and more reactive ones as well. We will respect your pets' needs and love taking care of them. Dependable, punctual, and great with shy or energetic pets. Happy to send photos and updates. During the summer we are available at any time, any day, so we'll be glad to stop by any time your pet needs us! We will always leave your home the way we found it, and make sure that your pet is as comfortable as possible. Whatever guidelines you give us for how to handle your pet and your home will be followed exactly!
“This is the second time we have used Jordyn to watch our pups and she is amazing! We don’t have to worry about a thing when we are gone and we always come back to the house being just as we left it. Highly recommend!”

About: I have had pets most of my life from hermit crabs to dogs. I love them so much that I decided to do pet sitting and dog walking. I have watched friends and families pets while they went on vacation. I also have worked as a Pet Care Specialist at the PetHotel for PetSmart for 3 years and enjoyed interacting with all the dogs and cats in our care. My family is military and when we were stationed in New Jersey, I regularly offered pet sitting for many military families that can attest for my quality of care. After moving from New Jersey to here in Virginia I worked at care a lot pet supplies in the boarding and daycare section for 2 years and then ended working at a vet office in the kennel. I love all kinds of pets and I am not afraid to take care of any kind as I personally have 3 dogs , 4 Australian tree frogs , 6 crested geckos, spiders, 3 ball pythons, a bunny, 6 rats, 4 leopard geckos, hissing cockroaches, chickens, pixie frog, 75 gallon freshwater aquarium, 470 gallon pond, betta fish, and a uromastyx. I am a stay at home mom with school aged kids. My schedule is very flexible throughout the week and weekends. Can coordinate with pet parent to schedule a routine to meet their needs. I have a large, fenced yard for dogs to roam and to play in. I am available to visit my clients’ homes to offer all necessary care needed for their pets (ex. Walks, feeding, provide medication, etc.)
“Dale was amazing! We were gone for nearly 2 weeks and came home to all the pets in good spirits (including the two cats and that’s saying something!) and our home was just as we left it! We can’t say thank you enough!”

About: Hi there! I’ve volunteered with animal rescues and shelters over the years and have also fostered from time to time. I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I’ve also become the go-to pet sitter for many of my neighbors. Knowing people trust me with their pets and homes means a lot, and it’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly. As a fellow pet owner, I know how stressful it can be to find pet care that you feel fully at ease with. My goal is to give you peace of mind while you’re away. I’ll care for your pets with patience, kindness, and attention to their individual needs, making their comfort, safety, and happiness my top priorities. I work at a veterinary clinic. My schedule includes three longer workdays with a two-hour break in the middle, two half days, and two days off each week. I schedule pet visits around my work hours and during my two-hour breaks, so your pet receives the care and attention they need. On my days off and half days, I have even more flexibility to spend extra time with them. I always make sure the pets in my care are a priority and that their routines are followed as closely as possible. • When caring for pets in your home, I do my best to keep their routine as consistent as possible. • Fresh, clean water is always available, and I wash food bowls after each feeding and water bowls each day. • I carefully follow your pet’s feeding schedule, medication routine, and any other care instructions you provide. • I’ll make sure all doors, gates, and fences are secure. • If your dog is crate trained, I’m happy to crate them when I leave if that’s part of their normal routine. • I treat your home with respect, leaving it just as I found it and cleaning up any pet messes or accidents. • Potty breaks are tailored to your dog’s individual needs. Puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with medical needs can receive more frequent breaks. • Every visit/day includes walks, playtime, enrichment, and companionship based on your pet’s personality and energy level. • I send plenty of photo and video updates so you can see how your pet is doing while you’re away. • Above all, I care for every pet with the same attention, patience, and respect I give my own. Dog Walking Every walk is tailored to your dog’s age, energy level, and individual needs. Whether your dog enjoys a leisurely sniff walk or a brisk outing, I’ll make sure they get both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I’ll follow any instructions you provide regarding preferred routes, avoiding other dogs or people, leash manners, or behavioral needs. I’m comfortable walking large, strong dogs, including those that pull, and I always prioritize safety.

“Lisa did an amazing job house sitting the week we were out of town. She was very accommodating with our last minute request/booking, and was very knowledgeable on working with pets, therefore streamlining this whole process. She was very communicative and always kept us in the loop of the wellbeing of our pets while we were gone. As a house sitter, Lisa displayed many signs of etiquette and respected our property. All-in-all, I'm in a much more calmer state of mind knowing that whenever I need to take vacation, I know who to call. Thank you so much Lisa! <3”

“Halley was awesome! Super responsive and very kind. She treated our house with respect and our little beagle was a happy fella when we got home! Hoping to stay in touch with Halley for our dog sitting!”

About: With 20+ years of personal experience and 5+ professionally, I'm Pet CPR certified, trained to give shots, and care for all pets - furry, scaled or pocket sized. I work from home full-time, so I have flexibility. I've boarded in-home and am comfortable with your-home overnights. I'm happy for lunch-time dog walks (depending on distance), or travel visits while you're away. I have a hedged in yard, but also have a lead line so they can run free. Lots of love and attention. Ample potty breaks and treats (if allowed). I have a small dog, who loves everyone and a skittish cat that probably won't be seen.
The median cost per night for house sitting in Downtown is $45
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Downtown
Leah took such wonderful care of our elderly cat and dog for 6 days. Our animals love attention and need human interaction. Leah spent so much time with them and took such great pictures of them while we were away. The animals were so happy and we couldn’t be more pleased with her service. She followed feeding instructions perfectly and made our animals feel so loved. We definitely recommend Leah and will use her again in the future.

I could not have asked for a better dog sitter!!! She went above and beyond with the care she provided to my baby!!! From the moment I met her at our meet and greet, it was evident how knowledgeable and experienced she is with pet care. She didn’t bat an eye at the extra care Luna needs for some health issues and she was comfortable administering Luna’s medicine. I had complete peace of mind while I was out of town with the many updates, pictures, and even videos Ashley would send to me!! I cannot recommend her enough!!! I will definitely be using her again! Thank you Ashley!!!

Courtney is highly recommended! She’s wonderful with my girls and takes great care of them! She’s able to travel a bit from her home and is able to work from your home so just ideal for a pet sitter! The girls and I would be lost without her! She’s GREAT and we love her lots!

Thank goodness we found Kynleigh when we did! Kynleigh went above and beyond to make our five year old, often a handful, labradoodle, comfortable (and happy :) while we were gone. She sent pictures and videos every day and we even came home to a clean home and sheets-- thank you, Kynleigh! We will be using her next time and feel fortunate we now can!
