A typical day
We will spend time exploring outside whether that’s in their own backyard or going for a walk. If your pup is more of a lap dog we will snuggle on the couch. I always will be with and supervising your pup when they are outside, even if you have a fenced in yard. We frequently treat ourselves to a pup cup from Firehouse Coffee or an ice cream doggy dish from Dairy Queen!

Pet care experience
I am currently 10 years active duty Air Force and an animal advocate with 3 cats, a betta fish, and an Aussie shepherd mix named Winchester. In 2023 I moved to Virginia from Missouri where I was an avid volunteer with Warrensburg Cat Advocates doing TNR (trap neuter release) as well as Old Drum Animal shelter with over 800 hours of service in my 4 years living there which led to me being awarded the military outstanding volunteer service medal, or my “cat medal” as I call it lol! Since I moved to VA, I have been volunteering weekly at the Cat Corner shelter in Hampton as a general caregiver and 1 of 12 people qualified for medicine administration. I have been trained in administering oral medicine such as pills and liquids, eye and ear drops, subq fluids, and topical treatments. I have yet to lose a finger! I also volunteer with Wildlife Response Inc as I am a certified wildlife rehabber with a Virginia wildlife rehabilitator license achieving my goal of branching out with animal experience even further by providing care for injured and orphaned wildlife. My main wildlife animal expertise is with raccoons but I am certified for possums, squirrels, and box turtles too. I am also working on my bachelors degree with ASU in biological sciences focusing on conservation biology and ecology. When I’m not working with animals I’m often out in nature. I love birding and walking the beach or parks and picking up litter as I go. In 2025 I organized a litter group called Litterminators and so far we have cleaned up over 400 pounds of trash! Note: my house sitting rates are for and equal 3 drop in visits per day. If you require more or less visits please let me know or book under “drop in visits”. I do not do overnight stays in your home, but I will be sure to check on your pet first thing in the morning and again right before bed. Ask me about my discounts!

Reviews

I could not have asked for a better dog sitter!!! She went above and beyond with the care she provided to my baby!!! From the moment I met her at our meet and greet, it was evident how knowledgeable and experienced she is with pet care. She didn’t bat an eye at the extra care Luna needs for some health issues and she was comfortable administering Luna’s medicine. I had complete peace of mind while I was out of town with the many updates, pictures, and even videos Ashley would send to me!! I cannot recommend her enough!!! I will definitely be using her again! Thank you Ashley!!!

I have never seen our sassy bird take to someone as quickly as Ashley, he was putty in her hands when most of my family still can’t pick him up! She was extremely good about communicating with us which put us at ease knowing he was getting great care when we were far away. She kept his cage tidy and we could tell in the pictures how much he was enjoying his visits. We can’t recommend her enough and would hire her again in a heartbeat!

Ashley did an amazing job. This was our first time trying home sitting. She came right away for a meet and greet and made sure she had every detail for the dogs to make sure they were well taken care of. She sent an update with each visit, stayed in touch, and flexible for our schedule. 10/10 would recommend!

Ashley was awesome! I needed help administering subcutaneous fluids to my dog who's normally scared and loves to run and hide. Her knowledge, experience, and flexibility made it a smooth and easy process. She has a strong passion for animals that shines through the care she provides. Highly recommended!
