“Rodney came to my rescue! Recently I had to go to the ER during the night and I was worried about who would take care of my dogs in the morning. I was able to contact him around 7:00 a.m. so he could come over and take care of the dogs. Potentially it could have been an overnight, but that wasn't needed. It was so wonderful to know that my dogs would be well cared for before and after my return home! Usually he just comes for a drop-in visit every other week, but this required more visits. The dogs are still getting used to him, but he works very hard to get them to trust him and it is paying off. Thank you, Rodney!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and many other species since I was a young girl! I recently have gone to vet assistant course and worked at Banfield for a year or so. I am currently a trade student available Monday through Thursday after 3 pm. I am also open to Friday through Sunday varying times upon request! I have experience in shelter kennels as well as veterinary and my own life experience. I am comfortable with all sizes and breeds. I am good with feedings/walks/play etc!

“Barbara was truly wonderful! Everything about our experience with her was perfect. We had a lovely meet and greet where she came to our house and met our two dogs, who instantly loved her! She stayed with them for four days/nights while we were away. Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty! Gus is a very old, enormous Rottweiler who needs help getting up from the floor. Barbara was totally willing to help this dignified old guy up, and also guiding him outside (he is deaf and partially blind). I could see that Gus felt very safe and comfortable with her, which is not the case with everyone since he feels very vulnerable now in his elder years. And our youngster Sammy who is a bundle of energy, was ecstatic to have a new friend who would play with him. Unfortunately Sammy had a bad tummy during the weekend, and Barbara was up with him several nights, making sure he was comfortable and taking him out for frequent relief walks. During my time away Barbara sent pictures and updates throughout the day to put my mind at ease. This was my first time leaving my precious fur babies with anyone other than a family member, and I was nervous, but Barbara did everything she could to make this a very special experience for all of us. When I came back, both dogs were totally bonded with Barbara and Sammy especially did not want her to leave! We will definitely be using Barbara’s services again!”

They needed someone dependable to stay in their homes, care for their pets, and keep an eye on things while they were away. Long before I knew professional house sitting was a thing, I was already doing it. About: I’ve cared for neighbors’ and coworkers’ dogs on and off for about 7 years. I’ve grown up around dogs and have experience caring for dogs of different ages, including seniors. I currently have a 16 year old Dachshund, so I understand the extra patience and care older dogs may need. I treat every pet like family and want them to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. I work 7-4 at Langley Air Force base so depending on how far it is from base I could stop by during lunch but if not I can stop by during the week before 7 and after 3:30 pm. During the weekends and holidays, I should be free whenever to care for your pet! I live in a comfortable apartment with an enclosed patio where pets can get some fresh air and relax. I’m also happy to take them on regular walks and give them plenty of attention, playtime, and care throughout their stay. I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and right at home!

I have a large fenced yard with plenty of room for running and playing. Your guest is allowed on the furniture and bedroom beds. I can provide free meals and treats upon request. About: I’ve had over 2 pets in my life which I have cared for before 1 passed. I often take car or dogs while doing that! I’m currently get my phlebotomy certificate so I work from 8-4 and if you’re near Howard University I can definitely walk your dog during lunch hour! I work with whatever you tell me! If you dog loves to play fetch outside, I love doing it. If your doggie loves cuddling up and napping that’s great too
