“My dog Duke’s visit with Ann was very good. She regularly sent pictures and updates, and took very good care of my fur baby. Ann said they had a nice time watching Duke. I will book with them again when the need arises. Thank you, Ann!”

“This was the first time using Rover and Alex was just a great choice. She and her family were delightful, sending me pics and keeping me posted. It was a great decision to opt for personal care rather than a kennel. She was flexible, and I would seek her services again based on the good vibes.”

“Sydney had a wonderful stay with Cari! Being this was her first stay we appreciated the pictures and updates from Cari. From the day we connected with Cari for a meet and greet she’s been prompt in her communication and her friendly and welcoming demeanor made us feel comfortable leaving Sydney. We highly recommend Cari!”

“This was my first experience using Rover and Brianna made me feel comfortable from the start! Answered all my questions and communicated quickly. My 2 dogs were well taken care of by Brianna and she sent pictures while we were gone on vacation. She and her family gave them lots of love and attention. Very happy with her service! My dogs will be staying with her anytime I need a sitter in the future!”

“Ellen gives a great service. She was very intuitive about our babies personality and Frida seemed to be very happy and comfortable with her. Ellen also kept us updated with texts and pics which gave us lots of confidence. We will be using her services on the future for sure!”

About: I've grown up with spayed/unspayed dogs, tiny and medium sized, and have bathed them throughout the years. I'm less experienced with cats as I wasn't allowed one as a kid, but I would always play with and look after my friends' cats when I got the chance 😸 I'm currently a student at Michigan State University, with a part time job as an ice hockey referee. I am usually home 18 hours out of the day most of the days of the week! I live alone in an apartment on an upper floor. 650 sq. ft of space, so it's spacious. There is also an outdoor yard if needed. Caring for your pets will give me breaks between studying and homework! I will treat your pets as if they were my own, and making your pets happy will make me happy! 😊
“I had a great first experience with Rover, thanks to Martha! Martha took amazing care of my dog for a whole week in her home. I was nervous about leaving him because he's had behavioral issues in the past, but it worked out really well! Martha was very responsive from the start and experienced with rescue dogs. Martha was very accommodating of Bumi's daily medication schedule and prescription diet, as well as his rescue quirks. She sent pictures and updates which were great comforts to me. Bumi was clearly very happy and comfortable while he was boarding. I will not hesitate to book Martha again!”

“Astra stayed at Val and Theresa’s house for the weekend, and had a great time! They sent photo updates throughout the weekend, and had great communication with us. We love that Astra gets to continue her training while we are away, and that she gets to hang out with other cool dogs!”

“Joni was so sweet to Thor and was great with updates and pictures! We used to stress if we were heading out of town but now feel confident knowing Thor has Joni in his corner! Thank you!”

Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, their comfort, safety, and happiness are always my top priorities. I take the time to get to know each pet’s routine, personality, and needs to make sure they feel at ease. In my client’s home, I respect their space and follow all instructions closely from feeding schedules and walk times to any special care needs. I always make sure pets feel loved, whether that means extra belly rubs, playtime, or simply keeping them company. If I’m caring for a pet in my own home, I make sure they have a cozy, safe space to relax. I keep a clean, pet-friendly environment and offer plenty of attention, walks, and play throughout the day. No matter the setting, I treat every pet like family!
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 4 years old, mainly my own until about age 11 when I started to help out taking care of family and friends dogs as well! I’ve been trusted to walk, feed, sit, and bathe their pets since then. I’m great with pets, and enjoy playing with them as well! I’m currently working a part time job that is very flexible. I typically work 8:30am-3pm Monday-Thursday, but I can easily adjust my hours to fit your pups needs. If your pup needs constant supervision I’m free Friday-Sunday for boarding! When I pet sit in my home it just depends on what the owner and pet is comfortable with. I’ll follow the instructions on how to care for their pet because each one if different. Each one will be cared for to my best ability!
“Samantha and Tua were great! My Labrador puppy (17 months) was in heaven with Tua as a playmate and the amount of space to play in. Samantha had my puppy start learning a hidden food puzzle and I will be buying one for her at home. Feeling good for my next trip,,,”

“Sara was fantastic! Milo had a great time and came back happy! She gave regular updates, kept him entertained. We will definitely use her again when we are in the area.”

“Cody took amazing care of our 8 year old German shepherd! Sent many picture updates & our boy came home so happy & so tired from his weekend fun. Has the perfect setup for social dogs, couldn’t recommend him more.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats since I was 5 years old. Family and friends have never hesitated to trust me as their dog sitter! I’m able to work with any dog or cat, whether that be puppies and kittens or your senior animal! I’m currently earning my master’s degree in Athletic Training, so I pet sit while I complete my program. My schedule is pretty open and flexible, which allows me to give your pet plenty of attention and care. I keep my Rover calendar updated and communicate clearly about my availability so you always know when I’m available to help. I live in a clean, pet-friendly two-bedroom apartment with my fiancé, our dog, and two cats. Safety is always my top priority, so introductions to our pets are done slowly and only if everyone is comfortable. I carefully follow your pet’s routine, feeding schedule, medications, and any special instructions. Dogs are always leashed outside, and I provide a calm, supervised environment where they can feel safe and at home.
“During the stay, Makayla provided regular updates with photos and videos, which put my mind at ease. It was clear that my dog was having a wonderful time and was being well taken care of. When I picked up my dog, he was happy, relaxed, and in great spirits. It was evident that he had received plenty of love, attention, and exercise. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
