“Samantha was great with our dog. She sent multiple pictures and videos and was very easy to communicate with throughout the process. Her dog seemed friendly and got along well with our dog. Her place is easy to get to in East Lansing, and she was easy to work with. Our dog came back happy after a two night stay.”

About: Hello, My name is a Richie✌️After house sitting for the past 5 years, my sister and I, Theresa, have joined forces to offer you care in the greater Lansing area! Theresa has also been providing care for the past 5 years (people don’t usually make it this long). First come first served! My schedule is open for any booking needs. With access to an activity bus used for group off leash hiking(signed waver required), 900 acres of natural trail systems close by, and a park with an acre open land just two doors down, we are constantly having fun outside. We have two people who have been in the business for the past 5 years, coming together to provide constant care. We do our best to help train the dogs to work in with the program. With the support of local dog trainers, we can assure that proper action will be taken.
“Cody did an amazing job with our Rhodesian, Mila! She can be pretty shy but she took to Cody right away. He sent lots of pictures during her stay which put me at ease. We will be using Cody’s services again!”

“Helen was great. She accommodated my dog so well and sent lots of updates and pictures. My dog felt right at home and she even had a playmate to play with daily as well. She was very understanding and generous to keep my dog another day being that our flight got delayed. I felt comforted in my mind that my dog was left in the perfect home during our 7 day vacation. I will definitely book with her again.”

“What a wonderful experience for my precious Joe. Joni provided excellent care for him and kept me aware of Joe's days, without overdoing it. I could not have been happier or more at ease with leaving my sidekick at a boarder.”

“Julie did an excellent job caring for my dog. This was my first experience boarding my dog through Rover. I will definitely try to book with Julie in the future. She sent text updates with pictures and videos. Thank you so much, Julie!”

“Fabulous sitter! She was quick to reply and took care of our babe last minute. She even went out of her way to drop him off for us, and waited 5-10 minutes extra due to our event not being done yet. HIGHLY recommend! THANK YOU SO MUCH!”

“Anthony continues to be our first choice for pet sitting. He does such an amazing job taking care of our dog. This time around our dog was dealing with some medical issues and he took great care of him and communicated with us often. We trust him completely with our dog’s care.”

“Brooke was excellent with our pups! We were out of town for about 10 days, and she sent us updates and was easy to communicate with. She also suggested we bring our dogs over to meet her two beforehand, which helped our dogs be more comfortable when we dropped them off! Can’t thank Brooke enough!”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Alex and her wonderful family! They took such amazing care of my dog, Rose, and made her feel right at home. It was clear from the start how much love and attention they gave her, and I was so grateful for the updates and photos throughout her stay. Rose came back happy and relaxed, and I know she had a great time. I highly recommend Alex for anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and loving sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with them again!💕🐶”

“Nichelle has watched my 100lb great Pyrenees along with both of my cats and I'm pretty sure they would rather stay with her! Her, along with her family, absolutely adore my fluffy dog and I wouldnt ask anyone else to watch him. He is always excited to stay with them and has multiple times! Highly recommend if you want someone to watch your animals that will treat them like their own.”

“Pictures sent showed both doggies smiling and happy while they were settling and being active. They were both worn out when they got home and were for the first time ever calm greeters at the door. Well worth the cost. Val and Theresa are two very charming people, great attitudes with dogs and I'm glad I chose them to care for mine.”

“We love Cari so much, this is our 4th time using her! You truly can’t find anyone more patient, loving, and caring than Cari, and we are so grateful to have her watch our dogs while we are away! She is so understanding of their quirks and is always happy to help with whatever they might need. Thanks for everything, Cari!”

“Meghan was a Godsend!! She took my dog with only one day's notice and was so cheerful and easy to work with. She sent me pictures throughout the weekend so I knew my dog was happy, which made me have a better time on my trip :) Can't thank Meghan enough and will definitely use her again - highly recommend!!”

“Holly was great! The boys seemed to have a wonderful time with her. She sent pictures of them too, which made me feel a lot better since this was my first time using Rover! I will definitely be hiring Holly again! Highly recommend!”

Misty is great. I worried about my two little dog before because I never left them to someone else. But I have a long term traveling needs to go. So I pick the highest reviewed dog sitter around me, Misty. Misty send me notes and pictures of them to me every day, which makes me feel so comfortable and good about my dogs. And when I pick up my dogs I can tell they have a good time with Misty and Smudge(Misty’s dog). I will definitely book with her again when I need to be out of town next time.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
