“Megan was so easy to work with. She made her schedule work to fit in my care request and remained so communicative throughout. My old lady kitties are particular and don't love everyone so the fact that they both came out to greet her is reassurance she's a true animal gal!”

“Lori did a wonderful job watching my pets! She does a great job following the directions I leave for her and she spends lots of quality time with them while I am away. She always gives prompt updates and sends plenty of photos!”

“Robert was absolutely wonderful! This was our first time using Rover, and knowing that Ellie was being so well cared for completely put my mind at ease while we were away. He was incredibly kind, dependable, easy to communicate with, and sent us updates and pictures after every visit so we always knew how she was doing. What really stood out was how much genuine time and attention he gave Ellie. He played lots of fetch with her, which is her absolute favorite, gave her plenty of love and attention, made sure she was fed and had treats, and really took the time to let her get comfortable with him. You can tell Robert genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and takes caring for someone else’s pet seriously. We came home to a happy, well loved dog, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We will absolutely book with Robert again and would recommend him without hesitation. If you’re considering booking him, do it! Your pet will be in great hands. Thank you so much, Robert, for taking such wonderful care of Ellie!”

“Kelsey is absolutely amazing. Her knowledge/expertise with felines is unmatched. She sends daily photos and narrative so you know exactly how your cats are faring in your absence. Kelsey is engaging, witty, responsible and a legit cat lover. If you have cats- you need Kelsey in a your life!”

“Outstanding experience with Sheri. She took care of both our dogs — a high-energy 1-year-old yellow lab and our 14-year-old chocolate lab who needs a bit more attention — and handled both without any issues. Sheri went above and beyond in ways we didn't ask for and didn't expect. She wiped the dogs down every time they came inside, which matters a lot with a younger lab who gets into everything. She also picked up after them in the yard — never asked, just did it. That kind of stuff you notice. We came home to two happy dogs and a clean space. No complaints at all. I would absolutely book Sheri again and recommend her to anyone.”

About: For years I have been surrounded by animals and taking care of them. I am here to help owners who don’t have the time to give their dogs a walk or even needing pet sitting! Currently this is my only job, I only will be doing sitting or walking during the week. My routine basically depends on the animals and what client's wish me to help with or do during my hours with the animals. I can take care of lizards, dogs, and cats. I always first make sure what allergies or restrictions are needed for the pet at their home. I offer walking and pet sitting. I can come at certain times the owner needs by request to make sure the animal is safe and cared for.
“Jamie has been so patient and kind dropping in on our very shy cat while we’ve been away. Jamie is excellent at communicating and always responds quickly. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Jamie again!”

“Our booking was awesome! Tracey cared for our animals as if they were her own and went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of while we were away! Definitely recommend!”

I am highly attentive to canine behavior, environmental management, and proper introductions, ensuring that every dog in my care feels secure, respected, and well-matched. “Emily is very professional on time. Great with animals and overall a very kind person. I would recommend her to anyone when she’s in the area. I will be going through her again. Thank you, Emily.”

About: Most of my dog sitting has been for family members over the years. I love being a reliable and trusted source of care for their beloved pets. I am currently not working. I have all the time in the world to spend with animals. I’d love to get out of the house and take care of your pet, or have an extra fluffy friend in the house. Patience and respect. All animals behave differently and have different needs. I am coming into their space and they deserve all the respect in the world. I love learning each of their personalities and how to many them happy.
“Wonderful and thorough care. I never worried about my boy while gone for a week. She anticipated needs even I did not (full litter box change) and went above and beyond in other ways as well. She sends lots of updates which was a comfort while away. She cared for my boy cat Zissou as if her own. 1000% recommend! She will be who I use for any future needs.”

“Justin, thank you for coming to meet Ava & I. I appreciate the time you spent getting to know her and her routine. You were very welcoming to us and I look forward to working with you in the future.”

“Cheyenne was very communicative while watching our kitties and I enjoyed reading her detailed report cards after each visit. All three cats seemed very relaxed and comfortable when we got home”

About: When petsitting, I go beyond basic pet sitting by tailoring care to each pet’s personality and routine. I’m reliable, a good communicator, and can keep you updated via pictures! I also have experience administering medications and handling anxious pets as I have one of my own. My goal is to prioritize your pets safety, and keep them happy and comfortable. I am on the MSU women’s rowing team, and only have practices 6:30-9:30am daily. Aside from that, I have a part-time job with a very free schedule. I provide a safe, calm, and clean environment whether pets are in my own home or yours. I don’t like to get them off routine as I know that can be a bit overwhelming for some animals, and love to give lots of attention! I’ll also be attentive to any needs of the pet, and keep you updated with photos/texts so you know your pet is in good hands!
About: Hi! My name is Jackie and I am 32. I've dog sat tons of different dogs for years of all different breeds and sizes. I have also been a foster mom for a few shelters in the Detroit area. There are no other pets in my home and it is a non-smoking home. I live with my boyfriend in a house and his 9 year old daughter is with us 50% of the time. My boyfriend’s father is a retired veterinarian and my boyfriend is experienced with vet med as well. I work from home full-time so I am mostly always home and available to be with your dog. There are great walking paths around me as well as parks to go to. I look forward to meeting you and your dog soon! I work from home so I will be with your dog all day. The only time I would be apart would be for quick errands or potentially events, but no more than a few hours. I do day care and dog boarding at my house. I can also do drop in visits or dog walking. Dogs are always allowed on our furniture and beds if that is something they are used to at home.
About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats throughout my life, both as a pet owner and for friends and family who have trusted me with their pets. I also have experience volunteering at the Humane Society, where I walked, fed, and cared for dogs of all different breeds, sizes, and personalities. I currently have a dog, Olive, and a cat, Kirby, of my own. Olive can be anxious around new people, so I understand the importance of being patient and allowing pets to warm up at their own pace. Kirby is an indoor/outdoor cat, so I’m also very comfortable caring for cats with different routines and personalities. I have experience caring for pets with medical needs as well. One of my family dogs requires daily medication, which I have administered regularly. I also grew up with two cats who required daily medications and subcutaneous fluids, so I’m comfortable following specific care instructions and medication schedules. Having pets of my own, I know how important it is to have someone you trust caring for them while you’re away. I’ll treat your pets with the same patience, attention, and care that I give my own. I’m currently an Emergency Medicine resident, so my schedule varies from week to week. I work a mix of days, evenings, nights, and weekends, but I receive my schedule in advance and only accept bookings that I know I can accommodate. Because my work hours can vary, I’m happy to discuss your pet’s usual routine and how long they’re comfortable being alone before booking to make sure I’m a good fit. On my days off, I have plenty of flexibility for walks, playtime, and lots of attention! I primarily provide care at clients’ homes, where pets can stay comfortable in their own familiar environment. I do my best to keep their normal routine as consistent as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, playtime, medications, and any other specific care instructions. For house sitting and drop-in visits, I’ll make sure your pets get plenty of attention and will keep you updated with photos and messages so you can feel comfortable knowing they’re well cared for while you’re away.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
