“We had a positive experience with Lorena & Narciso. They sent updates and photos, took great care of our dogs, and respected our home while we were away. We appreciate the effort they put in and their communication throughout the stay.”

“Robert was the perfect choice for me. I needed to go to the emergency room, and I had a friend who took Bernie for 1 day. I put in my request and Robert responded immediately. Since I was in the ER he met with my friend, and she gave him all of Bernie's needs. After meeting with Robert, she said that she liked him so much that she would not hesitate to use him for her 2 cream goldens. Robert made 2 great impressions on one stop. I would use him every chance I get. He did light housework and sent pics of Bernie and made sure Bernie was a happy boy. Thank you Robert.”

“I had to go out of town at the last minute. A friend suggested Rover. Ander was available for a last minute stay. We met to see how Ander and Willy would be. I was very surprised at how comfortable Willy was. I am grateful for the care and attention he gave to Willy. I will happily be a repeat customer. I also appreciate that he only has one “family” of pets at a time. Thank you Ander for going out of your way to help us.”

“Maria was fantastic. She's sends regular updates and is quick to respond to messages. She took excellent care of our pup and our home. Absolutely plan to check her availability for any future trips.”
“I cannot say enough good things about Heather. She was available to extend her stay due to my unforeseen challenges getting home from a trip for an extra night. I wanted to tip her more but Rover limits my tip to 30%.”

“Karol is a rock star. She was great with our sweet baby, openly communicated and was quick to respond. If you’re looking for someone who will love your babies like you do-it’s Karol.”

About: I’ve been caring for and pet sitting animals for as long as I can remember! I absolutely love and adore animals and honestly prefer them to people 😉. I am a full time teacher but have plenty of time in the mornings and evenings to provide lots of love to your fur babies. My working hours are from 7am- 3pm on the weekdays. I have experience working in animal shelters as well as fostering dogs. I am a dog mama of 2 adopted Shar-Peis and am a cat mom as well. Unfortunately, my kiddos have lots of health issues therefore I have lots of experience administering oral medications, ear creams, eye creams…you name it! I also have experience taking care of senior and young pups. Though challenging, they deserve all the patience and love in the world. I am looking forward to getting to know you and provide excellent care for your baby! I’m a 5th grade teacher full time and I am at work from 7:40 - 2:40 with availability to care for your pets before and after school! I am generally free on the weekends to provide drop ins, walks, and stay overnight if needed. I have a large backyard with an 8ft tall brick privacy fence that would be nearly impossible for your fur baby to escape. I will also keep tabs on them at all times to ensure their safety. When in others’ homes, I keep an eye on pets and spend time with them like they’re my own.
“Alison was wonderful. She was able to do a “meet and greet” with us beforehand, and was flexible to work around our schedule. She took great care of our pups, and even helped water some plants. We received updates and pictures while we were away which helped give us peace of mind during our vacation. When we returned home our house looked just as clean as when we left it. Thank you Alison for all your help!!”

About: Hi there! I'm Zandra, an animal lover with over 9 years of experience caring for dogs and cats. I have also taken care of bunnies, fish and reptiles. I take pride in being calm, clean, dependable, and fully present with the pets I care for. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy their companionship and love making them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their people are away. I currently offer in-home pet sitting and drop-in visits. At this time, I am not offering dog walking services. When I'm not caring for pets, I drive for Uber between bookings and drop-in visits. If I'm staying in your home for an overnight or extended in-home pet sit, your pet will always remain my priority, and I do not drive for Uber during those stays. My focus is on providing your pets with consistent care, companionship, and the attention they deserve. Outside of pet care, I'm working toward opening my own online pet store and earning my sound healing certification. I'm passionate about creating a calm, positive environment for both animals and the people who love them. Every pet sit and drop-in is important to me—it's an opportunity to provide reliable care, companionship, and peace of mind for both pets and their humans. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family! Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. Since I work remotely, I’m home and available for plenty of attention, walks, play, and snuggles throughout the day. I keep a calm, clean environment and love having pets as my companions while I work. Feeding, potty breaks, lap cuddles, or a good game of fetch all fit easily into my schedule. I’m also working toward my Dog Trainer certification, so every interaction with a pet is a chance to practice patience, consistency, and lots of love. When house sitting, I treat your home and pets as if they were my own. I follow your routines for feeding, potty breaks, walks, and any special instructions, giving pets plenty of companionship, cuddles, and attention while you’re away. I also keep your home clean, organized, and secure, so you can relax knowing everything is taken care of. For dog walking, I provide safe, fun, and engaging walks tailored to your dog’s energy level and personality, making sure they get exercise, mental stimulation, and lots of love along the way. I aim to make every walk enjoyable and stress-free for your paw pals.
About: I've been taking care of pets for neighbors and family friends for the past 4 years, and loved every second of it! I've been able to cuddle with puppies while watching a movie, wrestle with some teens pups and begrudgingly let them win, and I've taken calm walks around the backyard with a senior dog. I'm currently in school, so my day doesn't begin until 4 on weekdays, perfect for house sitting and sunset walks! On weekends, my schedule is completly free! I do have some Sunday morning commitments, as I work childcare for my church, but it has a flexible schedule for whatever you or your furry friend might need! I love to match the energy of pet and owner, so I can always provide the best experience. I'm able to lounge with some calm cats or play in the yard with some energetic puppies. I can take walks around your neighborhood, or go for drives if that's your pets vibe. In the end, if the pet is happy then so am I 😊
“Danielle stayed in my home for 5 days with my 2 dogs and 2 cats. She took great care of them- one of my dogs needed unexpected antibiotics which she just worked into their routine with ease. The house was in perfect order upon my return, my animals happy and healthy. Fantastic job and lots of pictures and feedback! Thank you so much Danielle!”

“Tracy was incredible! She was so sweet and caring towards our dog and cat. She was incredibly thorough and professional. We loved getting the daily pictures and updates from her. I would recommend her highly to anyone!”

“Aliya has been great with our pups and available on short notice. Our guys are a bit high maintenance, one is vision impaired and the other has seizures. We’re grateful that Aliya has been open to working with these challenges.”

“Laurie was wonderful. She was responsive to all communications, on time, kind, and courteous. We will absolutely be using her again in the future and I highly recommend her.”

About: I grew up surrounded by pets, so caring for animals has always come naturally to me. I started dog sitting for friends while in college and have loved it ever since. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and making sure they feel happy, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. I work during the week, but I’m generally available in the evenings and have a flexible schedule on weekends. I’m happy to accommodate different needs whenever possible… it’s usually just a matter of coordinating schedules in advance 😊 I live in an apartment with access to a dog park right in the complex, so there is plenty of space for walks, playtime, and fresh air. I also love spending time outdoors and often visit parks, lakes, and hiking trails whenever I can. If a dog enjoys adventures, I would be happy to bring them along with me :)
“Adriane was an incredible pet sitter! Upon meeting her, I knew she'd be a good fit for our pup. She was very kind and down to earth. She communicated well and provided daily updates while sitting for us. We came home to a clean house and a happy pup. I would easily hire her again to care for Clove.”

“Lauren is a great house and pet sitter! She gave us regular updates and followed all instructions for our pets. Our dog has trust issues but it didn’t take him long to accept Lauren.”

Annette is a fabulous sitter. Our pet, Fred, is always happy with her which makes it easy to leave him in her care. She walked him multiple times each day and took him to the dog park for playtime throughout the day. Annette had to nurse Fred through a “bug” and cooked him a special recipe to calm his tummy. She sends photos throughout hwr stay which is delightful for us parents. She is “the BEST”!

I had to go out of town at the last minute. Thank you Ander for going out of your way to help us.

Annemarie was wonderful! She took great care of my boys while I was gone. She always responded promptly, kept the house tidy, followed all my instructions, and made me feel completely at ease about leaving my dogs in her care. I would HIGHLY recommend her for check-ins or overnight stays.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cortaro walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cortaro maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cortaro choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
