“Great job keeping in touch and sending photos. They even had to handle a dog with diarrhea and they did so with no complaints. I appreciated the effort and the peace of mind.”

“Robert was wonderful! He was on time, very kind and took special care with our elderly and blind dachshund. She needs extra attention on walks and outside around our pool, he was very patient and understanding with this. He provided photos and detailed updates on how she was doing. Our house was spotless and our dog was calm and content when we arrived back home. We will be booking Rob for future dates.”

“Heather is OUTSTANDING!!! I will definitely be using her in the future and honestly I think my dog was sad when I got home and Heather left...the little traitor :D. She is responsive and so good with animals. I felt so comfortable leaving her in charge and never worried for a second while I was gone. 10/10 recommend!”

“Maria really saved us! We had another, different Rover dog sitter cancel on us a couple days before a week-long vacation to Mexico we had planned way out. Maria went well out of her way to make her schedule work for us at the last-minute. Most people would not want to deal with the hassle and we were convinced we might have to cancel our trip. She was great with our four-month old puppy. She kept us updated every day and took wonderful care of our house. She even helped us keep tabs on some construction we were doing in the back of the house. We can’t wait to book her again”

“I had to go out of town at the last minute. A friend suggested Rover. Ander was available for a last minute stay. We met to see how Ander and Willy would be. I was very surprised at how comfortable Willy was. I am grateful for the care and attention he gave to Willy. I will happily be a repeat customer. I also appreciate that he only has one “family” of pets at a time. Thank you Ander for going out of your way to help us.”

“Alison was kind, flexible and professional. It was obvious our pup was very comfortable with her when we returned. Our home was also well taken care of while we were gone. I appreciate Alison’s care and the questions she asks so she can take the best care of our pup. I would absolutely hire her again!”

“Am so happy to have found Cambria!! She took such great care of my pups. I have two high energy pups with one taking more time to warm up to someone. Cambria set up times before hand to get to know my pups and it worked so well! Highly recommend!!!”

“Scottie was fantastic! I reached out to her only a couple of days before the start of the sit because my scheduled sitter canceled due to a family emergency. She was incredibly responsive, kind and accommodating. The pets immediately loved her. She provided excellent care and sent many updates/photos. Incredibly grateful! We will definitely invite her back for future sits!”

“Danielle stayed in my home for 5 days with my 2 dogs and 2 cats. She took great care of them- one of my dogs needed unexpected antibiotics which she just worked into their routine with ease. The house was in perfect order upon my return, my animals happy and healthy. Fantastic job and lots of pictures and feedback! Thank you so much Danielle!”

About: 🐾 Experienced, Reliable Pet Sitter | 14+ Arizona Sits & Repeat Clients Hi, I’m Zandra! I’m a calm, dependable, and genuinely animal-loving pet sitter with 9+ years of experience caring for dogs, cats, bunnies, fish, reptiles, and other pets for friends, family and acquaintances. Over the past year, I’ve completed 14+ pet sits throughout Arizona, including Flagstaff, Phoenix, and Tucson, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have several families ask me to come back and care for their pets again. Building that kind of trust with both pets and their people is one of my favorite parts of what I do. I work remotely, so I’m able to spend a lot of time at home with the pets in my care. I love having animals as my companions throughout the day, whether that means a morning walk, playtime between work, a midday potty break, or simply having a furry friend curled up nearby while I work. I’m naturally calm and patient, and I pay close attention to each pet’s personality and routine. Some pets want constant attention and adventure, while others are happiest with a quiet house, a predictable schedule, and someone nearby. I’m happy to meet them where they are. My long-term goal is to make pet sitting my full-time career, continuing to build relationships with wonderful families and expanding my experience to eventually include horse sitting and care for larger animals. 🏡 In-Home Pet Sitting When I stay in your home, your pets are my priority. I follow their normal routine as closely as possible and provide the care, companionship, and attention they’re accustomed to. This can include: • Feeding and fresh water • Potty breaks and walks • Playtime and enrichment • Lots of companionship and cuddles • Medication and special-care instructions when discussed in advance • Maintaining normal feeding and sleep routines • Bringing mail/packages inside • Watering plants and basic home care • Keeping your home clean, tidy, and secure I understand that leaving your pets can be stressful. My goal is to make the experience as easy as possible by keeping their routine familiar and providing you with peace of mind while you're away. 🐶🐱 Drop-In Visits I also offer drop-in visits for pets who are more comfortable staying in their own home. I’ll make sure they have everything they need while you're away, including food, water, potty breaks, playtime, affection, and companionship. 🐶 Dog Walking Seasonal dog walks are available October through March. Because Arizona summers can be extremely hot, I only offer dog walking during the cooler months when outdoor walks are safer and more comfortable for dogs. I tailor walks to each dog’s age, energy level, personality, and comfort level. My goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable walk with plenty of opportunities for exercise and enrichment. Because I work remotely, I’m able to spend significant time at home during pet sits. I enjoy working alongside my animal companions and being available throughout the day for attention, potty breaks, play, and cuddles. I believe great pet care starts with creating a calm, safe, and familiar environment. Whether I’m caring for your pets in their home or taking them on a walk, I follow their established routines and pay close attention to their individual needs, personality, and comfort level. For in-home stays, I treat your home with the same respect I would want for my own. I keep doors, gates, and other entry points secure, make sure pets are safely inside when they should be, and follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, allergies, behavioral needs, and household routines. I’m attentive to potential safety concerns such as weather, unfamiliar surroundings, other animals, and anything that could cause a pet stress or injury. For Arizona dog walks, I only offer walks from **October through March** because cooler temperatures make outdoor exercise safer and more comfortable. I also understand that some pets need time to warm up to a new person. I never force interaction. I let pets approach me at their own pace and build trust through patience, consistency, positive attention, and respecting their boundaries. Your pets’ safety and well-being always come first. My goal is for them to feel secure and cared for, while you have peace of mind knowing that both your pets and your home are in responsible hands.
About: I've been taking care of pets for neighbors and family friends for the past 4 years, and loved every second of it! I've been able to cuddle with puppies while watching a movie, wrestle with some teens pups and begrudgingly let them win, and I've taken calm walks around the backyard with a senior dog. I'm currently in school, so my day doesn't begin until 4 on weekdays, perfect for house sitting and sunset walks! On weekends, my schedule is completly free! I do have some Sunday morning commitments, as I work childcare for my church, but it has a flexible schedule for whatever you or your furry friend might need! I love to match the energy of pet and owner, so I can always provide the best experience. I'm able to lounge with some calm cats or play in the yard with some energetic puppies. I can take walks around your neighborhood, or go for drives if that's your pets vibe. In the end, if the pet is happy then so am I 😊
“Brianna did a great job watching our house and elderly pup! She had great communication and we appreciated the frequent updates and images. Our house looked just as good as we left it, nothing out of the ordinary. We’ll definitely be using her in the future!”

“We truly had the best experience with Kayla during this booking. She gave us so many updates about the boys while we were out of town. It helped us enjoy our trip so much more knowing our fur babies were being well taken care of at home. We can’t wait use her again in the future ☺️”

“Excellent experience. Tracy was professional, accommodating and consistently communicated with pictures and text messages. House looked wonderful when we returned home and dogs were well cared for. Tracy gave us peace of mind during our vacation. Highly recommend!”

About: I understand the responsibility and trust that comes with caring for someone’s pet. I’m someone who takes commitments seriously, pays attention to details, and believes that every pet deserves patience, kindness, and consistency. My background has taught me how to be dependable, organized, and calm in unexpected situations. I work in an environment where communication, problem solving, and taking care of people’s needs are part of my everyday routine, and I bring that same mindset into caring for pets. I’m also someone who enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. I understand that many dogs need more than just a quick walk they need attention, exercise, and someone who is willing to be present with them. I enjoy walking, being outside, and creating a positive experience for pets while keeping them safe. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. Whether it’s a young pet that needs extra patience and attention, an energetic dog that needs exercise and playtime, or a senior pet that needs a calmer approach, I’m willing to learn their needs and provide care that makes them feel safe and comfortable. My goal is to give owners peace of mind knowing their pets are being treated with respect, attention, and genuine care while they’re away. Pet care would fit well into my routine because I’m someone who values responsibility, consistency, and taking care of things the right way. I currently have a structured schedule and I’m used to managing responsibilities, solving problems, and making sure people can count on me. Even though I haven’t had a pet in a long time, I understand how important pets are to their families. I know they are not just animals, they are part of someone’s home and daily life. I would treat every pet with patience, attention, and respect, making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their owners are away. I enjoy being active, spending time outdoors, and building trust with others. I would bring the same level of commitment and care that I bring to everything else I do into taking care of someone’s pet. When caring for a pet in my client’s home, I would treat their home and their pet with the same respect and attention I would want for my own\. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I would take the time to learn their schedule, feeding instructions, walking preferences, and any special care they require. I believe consistency is very important for pets, especially when their owners are away\. I would make sure they receive attention, exercise, playtime, fresh water, and a safe environment while following all instructions provided by the owner. I’m someone who is organized, responsible, and pays attention to details\. My goal would be to give pet owners peace of mind knowing their pets are being cared for by someone who is dependable and genuinely wants them to feel comfortable and happy.
“Kendrick did a great job at our home. The animals were well cared for, and all meds were given as requested. We wanted to book Kendrick again right away but he was already booked, we will book him again next time and reserve more in advance.”

“Chesnie was a wonderful guest in our home. Our dogs absolutely loved her and she was very attentive to their needs and typical home life. We will definitely be reaching out to her next time we need a sitter.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cortaro
Annette is a fabulous sitter. Our pet, Fred, is always happy with her which makes it easy to leave him in her care. She walked him multiple times each day and took him to the dog park for playtime throughout the day. Annette had to nurse Fred through a “bug” and cooked him a special recipe to calm his tummy. She sends photos throughout hwr stay which is delightful for us parents. She is “the BEST”!

Annemarie was wonderful! She took great care of my boys while I was gone. She always responded promptly, kept the house tidy, followed all my instructions, and made me feel completely at ease about leaving my dogs in her care. I would HIGHLY recommend her for check-ins or overnight stays.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Cortaro on Rover is $43.23 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cortaro walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cortaro maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cortaro choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cortaro. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
