“Ander was communicative before and after the visit. There was a mishap with the Rover app and recording photos/the Rover card but Ander explained this was his first time doing a walk vs boarding. I would ask Ander to walk my dog in the future!”

“Can’t recommend Rachael enough! Zuko always comes back well-exercised and happy after each walk with Rachael. I also love that she provides updates and photos, which made me feel reassured while I’m away. I just really appreciate the care she provides to Zuko! I will definitely be booking Rachael again in the future.”

“Alison was awesome with our Lucy. She is very reliable and adaptable and was always there when she said she would be. I highly recommend her and will definitely use her again.”

“Danika is a great communicator. Appreciated the text messages and pictures of the dogs. She was very considerate of the dogs in terms of the temperature outside for walks. Made adjustments to walking depending on the weather. Showed concern for our dogs' well-being and safety.”

“Jaycee has a great rapport with my reactive German Shepherd Dash. She dropped in while I was on vacation and it worked out well so she’s going to drop in and walk him during my upcoming vacation. Dash is particular about strangers but he is quite comfortable around Jaycee.”

“Ariel came by to walk my big boy, Wilbur (~100 lb Presa Canario). She was great! Came by to meet him before and took down lots of notes. He felt comfortable around her and I didn’t have a single concern after the trial visit! Her rates are unmatched and she provides quality care. 10/10 recommend!”

About: I have always had one or multiple pet dogs in my home as pets. I love walking and exercising and having company. Having a partner (or however many dogs) while I'm exercising is the best way! I recently retired from the military in February 2026 and I'm figuring out how to fill my days with positive activities. I travel quite a bit, but when I'm in town I'll be available. I have my sweet Clover girl. I take her on runs or walks constantly. She loves trail runs! She has a doggie door and comes and goes in the backyard as she pleases. She also goes swimming whenever she wants.
About: I have 11 yrs of experience taking care of my own dogs and know that they are much more than pets, they're family! So I understand the importance of leaving them in the hands of not just anyone, but someone who's trustworthy, responsible, reliable and caring. Not only do I have these attributes but I pay attention to detail and will meet your furry friend where they're at. If they're shy and need time to warm up and feel safe, I can do that. If they're ready to play and want lots of petting and belly rubs, I can do that too! My priorities will always be safety, making sure that I attend to their needs and your specifications! I have a flexible work schedule and love to stay busy. Playing with or taking care of animals is my ideal way to spend my extra time! I'm able to play with, feed, walk and care for your dog/cat in the way that works best for them! I'm detail oriented and will be sure to provide the care that they need.
“Alexis was great with our dog Sammy Who looked forward enthusiastically to her walks with him. Would definitely ask for her help again. Very reliable and dependable person who loves pets.”

About: Hello! I am a pet lover who grew up with Boston terriers for 20+ years. I also grew up working with dogs (Border Collies) on ranches, working side by side on various tasks. Because of my experience and comfort with dogs, I have been dog-sitting for friends and family my whole life. I have some experience caring for cats, including my sisters' and friends' cats (5+ years). I am very active and can exercise or entertain your pet with play or runs. I have rarely met a dog I couldn't build trust with. I am working a full-time position at the University of Arizona. I am free from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m., 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays. I have full availability on weekends. I ensure to follow all the rules the pet owner has established. I will use commands and language the dog is familiar with to avoid confusion. I make sure the pets are exercised 2-3 times a day. Cleaned and brushed if needed. I am mindful of water intake and make sure that all pets are kept on their usual schedule.
About: As someone who works from home, your pup will receive constant love, attention, and supervision throughout the day. Aside from the occasional quick errand or appointment, your dog will rarely ever be left alone. I’ve been caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities for over 19 years. From energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and TLC. I have a friendly dog of my own who loves having company, so your pup will have both human attention and a built-in playmate if they enjoy being around other dogs. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, comfortable, loved, and right at home during their stay. Your dog will have access to a large, fully fenced, secure outdoor area where they can safely play, explore, and get plenty of exercise. I can also accommodate crate-trained dogs if needed and will always follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I truly treat every dog like family and understand how important it is to know your pet is in caring, reliable hands while you’re away. Please let me know if your pup has ever been boarded. This is important as I’d love to make them as comfortable as I can. It is important that your pup gets along with others as I do have a dog of my own and also care for other pups as well!
“Jess has been a rockstar! I trust her to come out and give River a walk anytime. He’s always worn out and happy afterwards. She takes the time to make sure his water bowl is full after each walk too. Will definitely continue to book with Jess!”

About: I have previous work experience at an animal hospital where I was just a receptionist but gained quite a bit of knowledge there as well. This included me taking dogs on walks and giving the dogs and cats love and attention when they were with us. I have been petting sitting here and there for the past 8 years. Depending on the day I am available for a morning and/or evening check in or walk. Monday abc Wednesday I usually expect to be available all day. I currently am not accepting any pets in my home due to such a small space and two other animals. If I stay in your home I will be there around the clock. I enjoy taking dogs for walk and playtime so I would ensure this is done everyday.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cortaro
Cambria was an excellent dog walker. She stepped in during a time when we were dealing with an illness and unable to give our dog the attention he needed. We felt completely comfortable with her caring for our little guy, and we would gladly hire her again in the future.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
